Any churches around you have the big signs with the play-on-words, the catchphrases, the "food for thought?"

There's a church like that down the street from me - one that claims to have healers show up (one time they had posted that a woman beat cancer at their service), does the whole "speaking in tongue things", etc.

There's a couple like that in the area - usually they're small "community" churches without the big, beautiful building with the stained glass and whatnot - but the gaudy signs are popping up even at the conservative houses of worship.

Here's a couple signs I've seen though that make me just want to groan:

"Someone got your goat? Take it to the shepherd..."

"We were reborn to raze hell"

Add your own favorites...

yeah there's one near me that puts little messages up like that all the time, the only one i ever thought was the least bit clever was

"sign broken, come inside for message"

I saw one in Chicago once that said:

Our God is an awesome God

Yeah, for sure you'll win the kiddies over with that "groovy" message.

That one is really good. Very clever.
