A look at how dominating Floyd Patterson would have been had he stayed at middleweight/light heavyweight:

I've watched this fight many times and always thought Pattersons speed and reflexes were as good as Roy Jones, only with more power. He would have been considered one of the best p4p fighters ever had he not moved tp HV, in my opinion.

Did Patterson get robbed in a light heavyweight fight with Joey Maxim?

I've never seen that fight, but its my understanding that he was just to inexperienced at the time for veteran such as Maxim.

You could probably score the Patterson-Maxim fight for Maxim due to consistency but Patterson was clearly landing the harder, more eye-catching punches in the fight and was the aggressor at all times while Maxim resorted to spoiling. Patterson took it for me by clear margins. Keep in mind that this was an inexperienced 19 year old Patterson against a true veteran of the sport.

Either way I don't think much of it, it was a younger guy against an older guy in an 8 round fight. Patterson wasn't allowed to fight 10 rounders at his age.

Just watched what I could of it and I think its closer than the scores indicated. I can't say Patterson should have won though without seeing the fight in its entirety.

Patterson was great at 160 & 175lbs but he was even better at 200lbs and is vastly under-rated by everyone today
