Mayweather opens training camp for Gatti!
By G. Leon
"I don't need 15 weeks to train!"
May 02, 2005 - Undefeated pound for pound picasso Floyd Mayweather Jr. officially opened up his training camp for Arturo Gatti this afternoon. Moments ago Mayweather told **********.com, "I feel great man. Even though this is easy work for me I'm going to train hard and expose Gatti as the bum that he is. I don't need 15 weeks to train for no fight, this is going to EASY work." More to follow."-*********.com
With Mitchell on the undercard, Tyson-Mcbride is legitmate in my opinion.
sisforshaq 05-02-2005, 10:03 PM hopefully floyd doesnt under estimate gatti, i agree and hope he thrashes gatti all over the ring.

If I was Floyd I would have just trained the reglar amount of time. But he doesn't need to this should be an easy fight for him.
BrooklynBomber 05-02-2005, 10:09 PM Easy fight?.... perhaps PBF is even ****ier than Zab. NO fight against world class opponent is easy. And Gatti is a world class opponent no matter what floyd has to say about him. But than again this is what Floyd says and what Floyd thinks is probably two different things.

Hey I respect you opinion without a doubt but lets be honest is Gatti really on Mayweathers level? I just don't think, I think he is solid fighter who has been some great wars. And don't think I am just saying this and talking ****y because I am a Floyd fan, I don't do that. I just say what I think is the truth.
Super_Lightweight 05-02-2005, 10:21 PM I think it's fair to say Gatti is a world class opponent. He is not on Mayweather's level p4p, but we all know Gatti has enough power to stop Mayweather (doesn't mean he will though) which makes the fight interesting.

How so lightweight? What gives you the impression that he can stop Mayweather? Floyd has never been down legitimately.....the only time was against Hernandez and that was a slip.
Floyd has beat way bigger punchers in Corrales and Ndou throughout his career.

So what? loyd has never been hit by a guy like Gatti. Corrales got his ass waxed, his style was ugly for Mayweather. IF Gatti can connect (that's a big if) with a KO punch Mayweather will see starts, and that's why people are buying this ppv, because of that chance.
N'dou is not a bigger puncher than gatti. Nothing supports that.

Why is Gatti a bigger puncher than Ndou? He knocked out Who?
Millett? Dorin? Leija? LOL. The reason this is a big PPV event....is because H.B.O. has their **** buried down every gatti fan's throat.
loangunZ 05-02-2005, 10:41 PM styles make fights and since I'm going to this one I hope thats true
jack_the_rippuh 05-02-2005, 10:59 PM What made you get the impression that Gatti is this big puncher who can stop the fight at any given moment? You may have been watching too much clips of his fight with Gamache.

good call, gatti's 1 punch power was at 130, at 140 he's above-average, KO'ing Leija and Dorin didn't prove jack-squat, those guys were midgets and Gatti came into the ring as a middleweight in both fights....
I'm gonna beat this to death for the next 8 weeks: MAYWEATHER UD12
Tarver is my dad 05-02-2005, 11:17 PM I will also say Mayweather UD. But I think Gatti will challenge him and bring the best outta Mayweather. I just hope Floyd dont get too ****y and think this fight will be that easy as he is assuming it to be.
loangunZ 05-02-2005, 11:35 PM the bodyshot he hit dorin with was vicious though
