Interview done in the plane between Paris and London.

- Alan Kermorvan/Ironlife: Hi Wanderlei, we have one hour to spend in that plane, could you answer some questions?

Wanderlei Silva : Yeah of course, no problem! I saw you at the airport before, you seem to be a nice guy!

- Thanks! So who would you like to fight in June for the Pride MW GP second round?

I don't really care... Actually I'd like to fight Nogueira.

- Why him?

He has an open game…I think it'd make a good fight, with spectacular stand up exchanges. I want to fight the best fighters and Nogueira is one of them.

Team IronLife.com Staff Writer Alan Kermorvan & Wanderlei Silva

- In your opinion which fighter would pose the biggest threat to you?

I think Igor Vovchanchin, maybe it could be him... He is very good on his feet, a heavy hitter.

- What is your opinion about Liddel's victory over Couture in the last UFC event?

It's great! (big smile) And if Liddell stays the champ, I'd like to fight him. It's the first time I say it. It's exclusive for you, for you my friend and for your site! I want Liddell December 31th 2005 in Pride. It's the first time I say it my friend! (laughs) It's really because you seem to be a good guy and we get along well. (smile) I didn't even talk about it in the biggest mma magazines. We'll see if your site gets a lot of views: I officially challenges Liddell for a fight December 31th. And I can tell you I'm going to knock him out in less than five minutes. I guarantee it.(he did repeat 3 time that he wants to fight Liddel and will easily KO him !)

Wow, you must feel privileged, thanks for the interview. I'll spread the rumor. Hopefully Chuck and Dana will help put it together but if you ask me, it won't happen. The UFC would be putting alot on the line having their LH champ fight Silva. More then Pride would be putting on the line.

KO'ing Chuck in under 5 minutes? I know he is always confident but trying too hard to knock him out that quick my be asking for trouble. I do think he would KO Chuck, just not that quick.

Can Silva wear goggles so Chuck doesn't claw his eye out?

Well after 5 min Chuck pretty much gasses and passes out from exhaustion so 5 min is all Silva has to KO him in.

If or when Chuck hits Silva's eye, Silva will know what to do, he's from brazil remember. he'd probably respond with some straight up ape**** vale tudo.

He'd probably respond with a well placed headbutt. I agree, if Chuck tries to get dirty, Silva would be more than happy to respond accrodingly.

Just ask Guy Mezger about Silva's headbutts.

IVC vs. Mariano. It was the final round of the tournament. They stopped the fight becasue of a cut over his eye, but he was winning the fight.

Guy was going down anyway. The headbutt just helped things along.

I have all of Silva's fights on one tape in order up until the first Rampage fight. One of our old members a guy named "lightweight" made it and sent a copy to me. I wonder what happened to him?

Do you know if there is anybody around I could send money, And the could burn me a bunch of fights that I wanted on a dvd? Or for free? I wouldn't expect that though, I willing to pay.

Was the Mariano fight the same fight where silve took a punch and then shook his finger at the guy, then came in and went ape**** and kind of chased the guy around the ring. That was funny.

I have an old Vale Tudo fight of Silva's on tape, I cant remember which event, I think it was BVT 7, the one that has Macaco vs Pele 1 on it. It was a pretty good fight, the guy he was fighting got tired then ate some knees. Silva was pretty tired too, it was a tough fight....

The only thing I could do would be make a copy of the tape that I have and send it to you. I only have 2-3 Silva fights that I've downloaded.

Yes. Mariano knew he was losing so he decided to work the cut to get the stoppage. If you remember, he popped him in the cut, Silva shook his finger, then Mariano pointed to the cut like, that's how I'm going to win.

Don't remember exactly which fight you're talking about. One of my favorite fights is Silva's first against Dilson Filho. Talk about just standing there and throwing bombs. Those guys battled like crazy. That could be the one you're talking about.

I think that's it. I'll check fightfinder....

kaps
05-03-2005, 10:55 AM
Yeah, that's it, BVT 6. If you can check out that whole event. Macaco is a badass, and his fight with Pele is great. At one point Macaco shoots in at Pele, Pele sprawls and proceeds to hump Macacos head....

Tha Playa

Yeah I saw that on one of Pele's highlight vids. That was pretty funny. In that Silva fight an elbow in the cornor is what really put that dude on queer street. BTW, how did you get so many points?
