I was just watching TV and in California they were having the Cinco De Mayo parade which was to commemorate a Mexican victory over French mercenaries. So I was wondering if most Mexicans still bear a grudge against the French and France for at one time invading Mexico.

no ****. it is totally another american exploitation of another countries history to create a holiday for thier own benefit. which really means its a good excuse to drink heavily and spend money. btw... i'll drink to that!!!!!!!! i have no problems with the cinco de mayo holiday or any other holiday that says i should drink heavily.

The doctor hit the correct. Cinco de Mayo is just another day to get ****ed up and call out sick at work.

EVERYBODY hates the French.
It is just an in-born attitude that the rest of the world has about the people.

Of course, eventually a lot of us get to visit the country and see the people in their natural and comfortable surroundings and then you DESPISE the French!! :D

If everybody hates the French so much, then why do more foreign tourists visit France every year than any other country, and why does France make more money from tourism than any other country.

There is alot of anti French propaganda put out by the BBC in every f***ing langauge in the world and the US media for some reason. I have seen shows on TV all about how dangerous French spies are everywhere in America and you have to watch out for them and all this ****. So called "documentaries."

as for hating the mexicans , hell no , french people considers themselves of latin breed (french and spanish are both originated from latin and greek , and as mexicans , most people here claims to be romanic catholics ).

and yeah , the whole world may be itched by us (and sometimes with reasons) , but they all come to visit and then they buy houses

What does French have to do with Greek except Marsalaise? French is Gallo/Romaine correct. BTW my dads mom was born in Lorraine France. They were/are always very patriotically French, they changed their name from German Lillich to French Lillig, and were totally nationalistically pro French.

if youre from lorraine , there is a good chance youre grand parents had to choose between being french or german .

french language has a lot to do with greece , because we were conquered by the romans (hance the gallo romans) AFTER they mixed their culture with the greek's.

this is why they are words in french with greek roots , and some traditions have clear greek connections , and greek (classic not modern) is teached in schools. plus most of the historic thinkers and philosophers we study are greeks .
