Holy crap! Did you guys see Joey Gilbert's cut? It's almost worse than Vitali's cut against Lewis. And to make matters worse, his ribs were broken. You can see Joey's ribs almost popping out of his body when he was walking during the end.

And when the paramedics say was gonna take him to the E.R., he said he'd rather walk than go into the stretcher. That made me almost teary-eyed. What a great episode!

I agree. Great Episode. My wife cries during each episode at some point. Can't wait for next week, the teaser about 'most shocking ending yet' really has me wondering.

It was good. I'm interested to see the actual score cards though. You can never really tell what's going on with all the edits.

When a fighter gets dominated completely, all of a sudden, he comes back and make a rally of his own. Every episode is like that and I think they make it closer than it appears to be. It's good editing, I tell ya, but I will always have my doubts until I see the actual fights unedited.

I'm hoping The Contender is doing better in ratings than The Next Great Chump. The Next Great Champ was moved to a different channel (though still a fox channel) before the season was over. Hoping with the Live Season Finale, it will bring in some viewers for another season. Kinda weird to think that this will be the first Live Boxing fight on one of the three major networks in YEARS!!

As long as those cowards bonsante, jesse, and joey don't make the final I'm happy. The preview for next week showed bonsante beating the crap of jesse though. Supposedly something shocking is to happen. Anyone buying tickets to see the final live?

Man, it's easily real, and definitely looks real. The camera angles and whatnot are all to add to the drama. Sure they make a jab look like it's a devastating killing blow, especially with the sound effects, though aside from that, it is real. Let's not forget these are all real boxers and you can check their records on boxrec.com and it gets updated according to the show. They aren't going to show the entire fights because they only have an hour to do the entire show. I hear the final fight will be fully LIVE televised with no editing or nothing. Like watching a regular fight. As for the FOTY stuff, it's because they are cutting in between only the good stuff and editing the speed and everything to make it look better than it is. They never show the round timer so maybe you see something crazy and that happened at 2:30, then another crazy part, and really it happened at like 30 seconds left. Ya get my drift? :cool:

That was a great Contender. I wanted Joey to lose, but like someone already said, after that fight I couldn't take any joy in his defeat, he showed way too much heart. And that cut was a monster!

I think it was Jimmy Lang who was the lawyer, I could be wrong, though.

Also, to whoever said that Joey had the bigger heart, Manfredo has a lot of heart, too. You especially saw that in his second fight. He hits hard, though not super hard, and has a lot more experience.

He's probably the best fighter left right now.
