Haha, yeah, no kidding.

I wouldn't normally buy it obviously but this fight has been weird. At my mate's birthday BBQ on Saturday 7 or 8 of my mates expressed a pretty strong interest in watching the fight. I don't know if it is the Contender being on the card or something but yeah, people wanna watch it. So I just thought what the fuk, its a chance to drink beer and watch boxing.

Well, i suppose if mundine loses somehow it will be well worth the money!

i wouldn't pay it if it were someone elses $50.

i paid $25 for the lightweight supercard that had 8/10 of top ranked fighters in the world.
katsidis was on too.

and they want $50 for this rubbish. absolute joke!

Yeah was that the Valero card when Kat fought Chavez? I bought that card as well. Really entertaining stuff with several great fights. Amazingly Casamayor was expected to be on that card as well but he dropped out.

I'm well aware that buying this card is stupid. It isn't worth $5 let alone $50.

the fights that stand out are the 2 contender fights, but then again they were shown for free on Fox 8.
Actually you can watch the final on between garth and kariz for free on Fox 8 I'm pretty sure.
Not sure about the jnr , hamden fight though.

With Mundine weighing in at whatever he wants again, the chances of him winning are more than likely.

i thought they looked alright compared to alot of mundine undercards

im pretty sure i sparred mick porter a few years ago, when he was an amateur so im interested in that
contender finale should be good, even though i only half watched this season
junior v hamden could easily be the fight of the night
carl webb fight, im a bit of a webb fan ever since that origin try

so it should be alright i hope, plus i like medley, seen alot of his fights, dont particulary rate him that highly and dont think he will trouble mundine much, but still like watching him fight when he comes in good shape.

Fair enough. Hopefully you are right, although I'm really not expecting much.

On the positive Mundine has obviously come in in great shape for this fight and Medley actually looked pretty good for it being at 160. Hopefully they can put on a decent show.

Yeah I was waiting for him to throw in a knee for good measure.

But Kariz, didn't throw his Jab from the get go. His corner asked for it, but he didn't deliver it.

yeah but how can you work the jab if Garth is going to be Clinching 15 times a round.....the ref should've taken away points

Why would you waste your money? I thought you didnt like Mundine.

Paying $50 for this type of fight, is pretty insane. Especailly in these times. Am sure you could think of better ways to spend your money.

Shocking how Mundine and his team put these type of fights on PPV for $50. And even more shocking people seem to buy them........

Dan, Dan, Dan... You disappoint me son.

I'm beginning to suspect you are a closet Mundine nuthugger. Surely it would've been just as easy to wander down to your local pub to watch the fight for free?

Funnily enough I was actually impressed with Mundine tonight. Admittedly, it's easy to look good against an opponent nowhere near your level. He looked sharp, showed good handspeed and thoroughly outclassed Medley. I'm suprised the judges even gave Medley a round, I had it a complete whitewash.

After watching Medley backpeddle the first round, I knew how it would end. Sadly, I feel he was only there for the payday and his sole objective was to try and survive the 12 rounds. I was hoping Mundine would KO him.

The best part of the night was watching Webb get TKO'd by an absolute bum. I literally choked on my beer watching that ****.

On another note, Garth Wood is going to get destroyed by Mundine. Surely no sanctioning body can approve a fight between a former world champ and a bloke with only 8 professional fights. What a complete mismatch. What is Wood going to do? Clinch Mundine to death?

Also, the Talipeau/Hamden fight was such a disappointment. Talipeau drops Hamden in the first 30 sec and then opens him up with a headbutt in the next exchange resulting in a Technical Draw. Hamden is past it, bring on a rematch!

LOL @ everyone bashing me for buying the fight. Its fair enough I guess.

@ SOUTHPAW16BF, "these times" are actually pretty good. I have plenty of money to waste, if it wasn't on this pretty awful event it would be on some other rubbish, I'm a spendaholic anyways.

Brently - sorry to disappoint son, I knew you wouldn't approve.

Philfy - I had initially planned to catch it at a pub in town after work. Initially I wasn't even going to bother but 7 of my mates really wanted to watch it for some reason. Drink prices made the decision in the end. I got a fair few alcoholic mates and they would each have done over $100 at a pub easy, just became more logical to buy it and drink at home.

On the card, it was actually one of the better local ones I have seen in a while. Mundine fought better than he has in a long time and Medley gave a very good account of himself. Watching Webb get beat up was a lot of fun and the Contender Final was fairly entertaining. Fuk I hate Nader Hamden though. Fuk that cunt.

Wow. Whats your Job? And even if I had money to waste I still wound't pay for Mundine to fight this caliber of a fighter. How dare they ask for $50 for this fight. It's a ESPN friday fight night fight at best.

I cant belive Mundine didnt give Geale the rematch. What was the point of them both fighting on the same card which was titled road to the rematch?

I wonder if Mundine knew all along he was never going to give Geale his rematch.......

I'm an Economic Consultant. You are are over in the States right? Things are nowhere near as bad over here as they are there, not even close. I haven't really noticed much of a change to be honest.

I agree that I legitimised the fight to an extent, which is unfortunate. As I said, normally I would not have even gone to a pub to watch it but for some reason there was considerable interest from my mates and as I said previously, it just made sense in the end to buy it rather than everyone going to a pub and spending a ****load of cash on booze.

And yeah, Geale most definately deserves a rematch, and I think he would probably beat Mundine. Still, Mundine is a cunt so you gotta expect that ****.

Things are pretty hard over here. Just getting by and buying the odd big PPV boxing fight.

Always had a feeling Mundine woundt give him one. He will probaly fight Soliman for the 18th time or give Shannon Taylor a rematch. After he has finsihed off defeating his next opponent 7-1 Garth Wood

LOL yeah, that Garth Wood fight is a complete joke. Still, it is Mundine, you gotta expect it.

Economic Consultant can mean a lot of things. The firm I work for specialises in big industry and regulation economics. Basically most of our clients are big infrastructure companies - railways, ports, electricity distributors, gas producers, bulk water suppliers, that type of rubbish. We consult mostly on issues relating to major projects or regulatory regimes. It pays pretty well. I have only been out of university two years so I am still at the Consultant level but I earn pretty well.

I feel for you guys over in the States and the UK over there, it sounds fukn horrible. We were very lucky to escape all that rubbish.

The way Mundine was talking last night after his fight it actually sounded like he was getting sick of beating these C class guys. Still, whether that actually means he will step it up I doubt it. He is nearly done anyway, he is 34 and his reflexes are definately on the fade out.

Interesting. That sounds a very complicated Job to say the least man. But the pay sounds cool.

Mundine is just wasting his time with these fights. But he just dosent seem interested in fighting people that are world class. He was number one contender for Strums belt, and still didnt want to fight him......

sure everyone is giving it to u dan about paying for the fight, but the main thing is u enjoyed the coverage, that's all that really matters.

kariuki should have complained non-stop to enforce the ref to do his job. the amount of pushing and holding by garth was not good. but once he knew the ref was not going to take a point off he took advantage of it was the perfect game plan for him.
so if kariuki wasn't going to open his mouth, and not throw enough punches then i don't know how he thought he was going to win. he was very disappointing i thought.

just noticed it is still $50 to watch the replay. u'd think it would be a bit cheaper considering it is a replay.
