View Full Version : Finally people can stop arguing about Ruiz being above Vitali.
Enayze 05-01-2005, 12:35 AM Im not a Klitschko nuthugger or anyhthing like that, but all the bull**** that people raved on about how Ruiz should be higher than Vitali was sickening. I hope there will be no more doubts that Vitali is at the top, and although he doesn't have the undisputed title yet, he does have the title of the clear champ.
legend 05-01-2005, 12:38 AM I don't think your a nuthugger for this kind of post. VK is the top champ right now and there is absolutely nobody that can hang with him for 6 rounds, much less beat him. The rest of the division if just too weak. If Ruiz were to faught VK like he did Toney, VK would have knocked him out rather easily.

I totally agree, matter of fact it would've been "lightsout" for either Ruiz or Toney before 5 rounds were up.

Why is there the need to create Klitshcko threads after every Heavyweight fight?

As bad as it seems, Klitschko's are the only thing that makes the heavyweight division exciting.

Maybe it's because VK is the champ of that very division and to top it off, Toney said he wants to fight him next. Hmmm.....

No matter what any of you nut huggers pile up together to proclaim,
No one is a unified Champion.
Vitali won his belt vs Sanders, and has only defended vs Williams.
In reality, he has no more claim to the #1 spot than the WBA or IBF title holder until he beats them.
And if all goes according to his plan, he wants to fight a guy that John Ruiz already beat in his next fight, whenever that may be.

Trust me, I'm no nuthugger, but I know enough about the sport that I can put VK above any current champ, no matter if it is unified or not.

You would be surprised, you can find a whole lot at boxchamp.com and some at ESB, and all over the net take and give a few.
The Troll 05-01-2005, 12:54 AM Light Out Toney is the man at heavyweight, no question. Not Klistchko who never fights and is injured or Johhny Boy Ruiz, Or Chris gift descison Byrd. Toney is the man at heavyweight legimitately.
!! Mr. Soprano 05-01-2005, 01:00 AM Light Out Toney is the man at heavyweight, no question. Not Klistchko who never fights and is injured or Johhny Boy Ruiz, Or Chris gift descison Byrd. Toney is the man at heavyweight legimitately.
McKay.. I thought you were stuck on Golota!
What happend?
No Golota Vs. Toney???

did u jus say klitshcko never fights. well after the fight with lewis, within 6 months he fought johnson, 3-4 months later fought sanders, than granted 5 or 6 months later fought williams, n currently injured.... but iuno how u can say toney legitimatley the best at HW, when the best competition he fought was ruiz. him vs golata, is what i wana c. or barret /rahman vs toney. sum gy who fights. not jus stands there who wants to hug

If you think Toney beating Ruiz makes you THE MAN, than damn... I'm happy as hell about Toney beating Ruiz, but let's be logical about this. Ruiz is the one champ who everybody thought was pure ****.
The Troll 05-01-2005, 01:08 AM Toney is the man at heavyweight. Period
FistoftheDallasStar 05-01-2005, 01:08 AM Why do you guys underestimate James Toney. The man just keeps winning. He will definately give Vitali a run for his money when and if they fight. Mock my words "Klitchko will not walk over Toney" this is going to be a very tactical fight and will go the distance.

Yea and Toney is the man for fighting a faded Heavyweight, a crappy no experienced one, and John Ruiz???
Vitali fought Sanders who would probably KO Holy, Ruiz and Booker.
vB Martin 05-01-2005, 01:14 AM Mock my words "Klitchko will not walk over Toney" this is going to be a very tactical fight and will go the distance. Way too easy.

Corrie Sanders was a Jouneyman nobody who exposed Wladimir Klistchko besides that thereis nothing more to Corrie Sanders.
Toney has beat better oppoenents practially at heavyweight than Klistchko has. I will take a win over Ruiz over a win over Cory Sanders anyday. Look who Ruiz has beaten and look who sanders has beaten. And Klistchko lost to Lennox Lewis and that was the best fight of career. Lights out can deal with Klistchko, and Klistchko probably wont be the same after back surgery, his moment in the spotlight is over, lights out is gonna clean out these pretenders except Golota.
Toney haters and doubters are just ignorant, plain and simple.
Konstantin 05-01-2005, 01:21 AM His balls are all up in your eyes if you cant see that a fat ass Toney doesnt have **** on Vitali in the Heavy division. Im not taking anything away from Toney, hes a great Hall of Famer fighter but Vitali is to big.
Fareastwarrior 05-01-2005, 04:21 AM It's too early to say that Toney is the man right now. If you look at his opponents at the heavyweight division, it was all fighters who were literally done. Holyfield was overaged, Booker was a McDonalds employee and Ruiz was a babysitter. Toney should face more tougher opponents, like Klitschko.

Good post.
Floydmayweather 05-01-2005, 06:06 AM Im not sure about Toney beating Vitali but Ruiz had beat alot of top heavys and everyone said he was a "real" heavyweight with a style that gives everyone trouble. Now Toney beats him and people say it proves nothing but it does. Ruiz is not a great fighter but he is a tough fighter to beat and a fat, not in great shape Toney showed his ring intelligence and beat Ruiz just like he said. If toney comes in shape (or in better shape he will give any hw trouble) I think Vitali would be to big but Vitali is slow and Toneys ability to invade punches might frustrate him, but eventually he will get caught. Golata will get owned and bryd will get owned. Peace
The Troll 05-01-2005, 07:30 AM In all honesty I think Golota and Vitali would be easier opponents for Toney than Byrd. Byrd is to much of a defensive fighter and that is the kinda fighter Toney has trouble with and he has handspeed. Despite the size, Toney's fighting style is alot better for fighting guys like Vitali and Golota or any of the bigger slower more agressive heavyweights than Byrd.
Toney should avoid Byrd, and go after Klistchko or Golota even Wladimir Klistchko because everyone still is not sold that he can beat the gigantic heavyweights, I guaranteee he can.
Enayze 05-01-2005, 11:21 AM Toney is the man at heavyweight. Period
Whatever you say big boy. ;)
Konstantin 05-01-2005, 11:48 AM Everyone is saying that Kiltchko needs to prove something to be the top HW in the world. At the same time you say Toney, who has 3 fights in HW against horrible opposition, is "the man". It doesnt work like that. Vitali isnt the only one who has to prove himself.

Toney got his belt from beating Ruiz, Vitali got his from beating Corry Sanders. Ruiz is better than Sanders. Sanders was a nobody journeyman except he got lucky and exposed Wlad. And Klistchko has only made one defence. He has hardly beat anybody of note recently I mean come on Cory Sanders the Journeymen who exposed Wlad he got the title from and he has defended it once against fricken Danny Williams who lost to a bunch of euro-bums at one point. How Impressive! beating Corrie Sanders and Danny Williams, wow.
The Troll 05-02-2005, 06:16 AM Toney probably wont bother himself with Vitali anyway because Vitali is not going to get past Rahman and Toney only is interested in fighting champions.
The Pretender 05-02-2005, 10:33 AM Ruiz is the greatest fighter of his generation and will be back. Now that Toney has stolen the belt with the help of bought judges Vitali is going to knock his fat ass out with ease. It's a complete mismatch. Only Ruiz is capable of stopping the ukrainian.
jabsRstiff 05-02-2005, 12:01 PM I don't know of anyone saying John Ruiz should be ranked higher, or more respected, than Vitali Klitschko !
Just another "world against us" thread/topic from the Klit fans.

The only person Ruiz can stop is himself.
Which he did.
By retiring.
