View Full Version : Where do you and how do you rate Vanilla Ice?
parrinkinpau 01-08-2010, 12:57 PM I mean the guy was a joke and his fancy clothes and stuff made us laugh, but his first album was very succesful and Ice Ice Baby was a song that everyone seemed to likem and many of the guys who trashed and critizies Vanilla do actually like him, they just critizies him because is like the thing to do. anyway some say ice ice baby helped hip hop go into mainstream, and got hip hop to new audiences, sold 20 million copies but yet no one seems to give him credit.
i used to like it i think he wasnt that bad of an ''mc'' and defenetly did something to make hip hop more popular.
what are your thoughts??
Stab Judah 01-08-2010, 03:39 PM All of his music was ghost written.
parrinkinpau 01-09-2010, 01:21 PM maybe you are right, but i heard he wrote Ice Baby, is it true??
Derranged 01-09-2010, 01:37 PM Is this a serious question?

neils7147933 01-10-2010, 12:45 AM Ice's personality and ****iness is what doomed his career and makes people use him as a punchline. Certainly a lot of what he did, and his live performances in particular look corny in hindsight, but his "To the Extreme" album was par for the course for pop rap when it came out, even above average. A lot of the music from back in the day looks very dated and silly now. "Cool as Ice" was a terrible, terrible movie, but go re-watch "Class Act" or "Who's the Man" and tell me that they're any better. What's sad is, many of the current albums coming out are worse than anything Ice ever recorded. This Soulja Boy, D4L, Hurricane Chris stuff.... makes Mr. Van Winkle look like Big Daddy Kane in comparison.

I think those two movies were a little better.
Plus Doug E. Doug is one of the greatest actors of all time.

Versastyle 01-10-2010, 11:44 AM When he first came out he was the man, a lot of ppl( in which they probably won't admit now) liked his music. So I think he should be a 5 out of 10. If we could go back in time he'd have a nice following.

parrinkinpau 01-14-2010, 06:30 PM dude is a Party MC, just like soulja boy and Hammer Yeah man, you are right but where would you rate him. Do you think he was too bad, ok, or good?
Third Degree MM 01-14-2010, 07:22 PM forget "soulja hoe" he is nothing,
he has a good flow, Far better than soulja boy by Listening to "The Wrath", he's a level below or on the level of The Game.
but i did hear he's lyrics were ghost written, so that puts him on Dr. Dre's level i guess ha!
Marlon Brando 03-31-2010, 01:38 PM vanilla ice is the best
