Manny will KO Barrera again –Roach
By nick giongco
FREDDIE ROACH wants it done immediately. That is, a rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera. Now, Pacquiao versus Barrera II is the fight everyone wants to see.
While Barrera may have put on a show against Erik Morales, that doesn’t mean he will do the same thing when given the opportunity to lock horns anew with Pacquiao, said Roach.
"Manny will knock him out," Roach told the Bulletin yesterday after presiding over Pacquiao’s two-hour workout at the Almendras Gym in Davao in preparation for a tuneup fight with Fahsan 3K Battery of Thailand on Dec. 11 at The Fort in Taguig.
"Marco fought a very good fight against Morales. I believe he won the fight but it’s going to be different when he fights Manny. He can’t do that against Manny. Although he looked good out there, he remains the same though," the American trainer said.
Now that Barrera has succeeded in making noises by beating Morales, one of the best in the world pound for pound, Roach wants to know if it is feasible that a bout with Barrera be arranged instead of a rematch with another Mexican, Juan Manuel Marquez, on Feb. 26.
"This is what a lot of people want to see next. This is the bigger fight," said Roach, who arrived in the country from Los Angeles exactly a week ago.
"Then let Morales fight the winner of Pacquiao versus Barrera," he said.
Buboy Fernandez, a disciple of Roach, also doesn’t see Barrera avenging his 11th-round knockout defeat at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
"Ganun pa rin naman si Barrera," said Fernandez, who also dabbles as Pacquiao’s sidekick. "Pero maganda nga na paglabanin ulit sila dahil nga tinalo niya si Morales."
"Pero knockout pa rin siya kay Manny dahil hindi niya magagawa yung ginawa niya kay Morales sa katulad ni Manny."
Fernandez points out that Morales was not able to hurt Barrera badly enough to compel Barrera to think twice before boring inside.
"Hindi niya (Barrera) magawa yung basta na lang papasok kasi tatamaan siya ng masasakit na suntok na pakakawalan ni Manny," added Fernandez.
Meanwhile, Roach said "this week is going to be hard for Manny."
"By weekend, we are going to start to taper off. Manny will probably have his last sparring on Monday," Roach added.
Pacquiao, Roach and the rest of the gang are arriving in Manila late Thursday night, in time for a meeting with high-ranking officials of Smart Communications, which is financing the Dec. 11 show in partnership with Solar Sports.

It's your opinion but let's see this one come fight night. I will go for what Roach said.
mic573 11-29-2004, 08:32 PM I think Roach is saying that they would rather fight the guy Pacquiao stopped then the guy Pacquiao couldn't stop. I want to see the Marquez rematch first and the winner move up to fight Barrera.

What else Roach is supposed to say? He is Pacman's trainer.

Ah so you wanted to see Pacquiao finish JMM's career instantly. he.. he.. (joke my friend) Roach is trying to say he wanted to see a fight who most boxing fans wanted to see. Roach, on my point of view, choose MAB over JMM because he is more of a better fighter than JMM. For me, Pacquiao does not need a JMM fight. He should go for MAB coz it will give him a better purse.
The Fix 11-29-2004, 08:40 PM i want mab to win but pac looked very convincing the first time round

Yeah maybe but I believe on what he said but it does not mean that I believe coz he is Pacquiao's trainer. Get this - I believe on what is his analysis when Pacquiao and MAB will meet again.

It is a very one-sided analysis. No trainer will ever claim that his own fighter will loose a looming fight.

I think Pacquiao needs a rematch with Marquez to prove who is really better. Right now I feel that Marquez is the better fighter because he was able to adapt to Pac's style and beat him in my opinion.

JMM has done great against Pacman.

Pac needs the JMM fight more than he has ever needed anything, and the way JMM fought back to a draw after a 10-6 opening round, it would be a much larger, more in demand fight and much easier to hype than "see manny fight the guy he knocked out before".
Roach & Company are hyping Barrera because they are afraid that JMM won't go down 3 times the next time around and their fighter will be convincingly beat on the cards.
another pacman thread jesus christ give it a break
It's Pacman's thread normally man coz he is one of the best today and He is one of the nemesis of the three mexicans. Deal with it man so it will not be your cause of headache. lol Peace bro!
If you have other fighters too that you would like to start a thread, do so. I know it is not prohibited here.

Oh no no no my firend. In fact, (take note) Manny before wanted an "IMMEDIATE" rematch with JMM. But what did JMM camp did was they hired a lesser fighter in Salido for JMM and I don't think with all i've seen JMM can defeat Manny. I know in their next fight he will avoid Manny and just wait for him to attack. JMM will not go down 3 times the next time around coz Manny will only need one punch to KO JMM. lol Peace bro!!

Start your own thread man and I will reply. Don't get intimadated by Pacquiao. Peace out imbicile! lol If you want to talk about RRJ, Jr. Let's talk about him. Don't worry I'll start a new thread and I want you to reply.

Both wanted an immediate rematch right after the fight but then both decided to fight a different fight before the rematch. Salido was Marquez manditory challenger not somebody he just picked to fight.

Exactly my thoughts also, he needs to fight JMM first before he can start thinking about Morales or Barrera. Personally i dont think he can get past JMM and he might even get KTFO.
MexicanBoxer 11-29-2004, 09:16 PM Whar freddie meant was that he can't go toe 2 toe with pacman becuase pacman is toO fast aND powerful for barrera. I really want 2 see morales vs pacman but first must come jmm-vs pacman
Whooooaaaa. Pac-Barrera will happen, some day. But for now, Marquez first beats him.
The most interesting fight for Pac right now is definitely Marquez, because Marquez is the best of the bunch. Sure Barrera and Morales gave us a great fight, but they were designed for each other. Pac and Marquez are contrasting styles, which will give us less "drama" than MAB-Morales, but it will still be more drama than Pac can handle.
I believe that Marquez will KO Pac for the simple reason that he will not get stung early by underestimating Pac. Marquez will adjust immediately to the speedy one-dimensional PacMan who throws the same combination over-and-over-and-over. It won't work against Marquez this time around. You take away those early KD's and Pac loses their first fight. The second fight will be a convincing Marquez KO.
olympic boy 11-29-2004, 09:41 PM pacman vs mab 2 asap!!!!!
forget jmm he doesnt want a rematch anyway!!!!!!let him keep his 2 chastity belts!!!!!!! :D

Ha.. Ha.. Good analysis man. That is if Pacquiao can't take a punch. I don't think JMM can KO Pacquiao. Pacman if KD will get up just like Tito and finish the fight. The only problem for an opponent of Pacquiao (I will repeat this again) is his DEVASTATING POWER. I don't think JMM can handle that. If you, say he is one dimensional, I don't totally believe in this coz his fights before, I've seen that he KO his opponent with a right hook or fist. And Freddie Roach and Pacman is developing another technique right now for all of his coming opponents. They are working on it.
Pak men 09-16-2005, 09:32 AM pacman vs mab 2 asap!!!!!
forget jmm he doesnt want a rematch anyway!!!!!!let him keep his 2 chastity belts!!!!!!! :D
The problem with other people is that they can't judge an exceptional talent when they see one.
Look at Manny, devastating power, unrivaled speed. He doesn't back down. He is no cheap cheater. He takes on the best. Not unlike MAB who take on pansies just for an easy buck.
Read between the lines people. MAB is just too chicken to face pacman again. He is just too afraid. If you ever saw his fight. For every 1 power punch that MAB gives to pacman, pacman gives him 4-5-6 power punches. That's speed and power for you. Which MAB just doesn't have. He's too slow, and too predictable.
Manny will simply destroy him next time around.
Remember when he first fought pacman, manny was still learning his true potential. He still doesnt have too many moves back then. What about now that manny has all these weird, awkward shots which you can't see and will simply blast the lights out of your head.
No chance in hell for MAB. Simply No Chance in Hell.
YoungTurk 09-16-2005, 11:49 AM Pacquiao is not very different than he was when he first fought Barrera. He didn't have many moves then? Okay, exactly what are all these new punches he has learned? I don't see that.
We've seen Barrera change. We have not seen Pacquiao change. I think Barrera will make appropriate changes and win a decision.

Dumbass, try watching velasquez fight. The awkward straights and hidden uppercuts were hardly ever seen. It was way too fast that velasquez just lay stunned and couldn't even react.
Speed, power, stamina. Only a fool will say MAB has the advantage over that. lol! 4 power punches in under 2 seconds will be MAB's meal and he will retire in a wheelchair. lol!
YoungTurk 09-16-2005, 12:03 PM HAHAHAHAHA
I love you funny Pacquiao die-hards. You guys are too funny.
If the punches were hardly seen, are you sure you saw them or just imagined them? I saw the Velasquez fight. I have seen Pacquiao throw similar punches prior to the Barrera fight. I don't see a large difference.
I am curious, what was your first Pacquiao fight to see?
xzworks 09-16-2005, 12:39 PM in my opinion..pacman can win but not KO..barera is a veteran.he learned his lesson and marquez show pacman's weakness.

The difference is. Mab's too slow and too predictable. Counter-punching wont work. MAB dished out his best shots and PAC just took them easy. PAC dished out his best shots and MAB was sent kissing the floor of the ring. lol!
DiegoFuego 09-16-2005, 02:35 PM A guy like Manny Pacquiao can never lose to a guy like Marco Antonio Barrera
xzworks 09-16-2005, 02:48 PM Barera has been there done that. His a legend and i think his prime is over.
that's why im betting for peden heheheh.anyway .
my point is Barera-Pacman II maybe have no more reason to happen.
Pacman vs. JMM II !!!!!this a good fight.
JMM will teach pacman how boxing it's done and pacman will show JMM the Budweiser logo face to face.
chololo 12-22-2005, 11:45 PM manny is going to lose like last time but this time his going to get ko'd by morales
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 12-23-2005, 01:52 AM I for one much rather see JMM vs PAC than MAB vs PAC.... back in the days when u dominated ur foe completely and stopped him a rematch wasnt necessary, and any excuses of not being right was simply viewed as simply sore talk.
Pac has nothing to prove against MAB yet he and his people call out MAB so much u would think it was PAC who got the beat down, it simply isnt logical to me.
anyway like i said JMM vs PAC, is what i wanna see.
Undefeated 12-23-2005, 02:18 AM you never know what might happen....remember anythin can happen in a fight i saw PAC will come back and knock morales out within 8
JOM'S 12-23-2005, 02:36 AM i would love to see PAC-MAB 2, and give Marco the chance to prove that it was only an OFF Night, and he will make it a closer fight than the first one, but outcome will be the same ... PACMAN victory
i would also love to see PAC-JMM 2, to settle once and for all, who is the better man ...
but before those fight will/may happen PAC has to get pass Erik first!

and don't scare jmm off coz he might hit the canvass thrice again!! that must have been hard for a fighter who was almost beaten down in the first round and recovered, it's very traumatic and psychologically, it will surely affect him. that 3 knockdowns won't get out of his mind no matter how much he tried to. theoretically speaking, i could say, i maybe right! and i thought that was the reason he priced himself out of the scheduled rematch w/ pac! and even if he's offered 3 million USD, he will never fight pac again! LOL!!
