it depends, as you say

kirk is a real HW

could be a great fight for Toney

so far toney has been feeding on former crusiers

yeah i'd love to see this fight.Toney needs to fight a real heavyweight

I think Toney takes a close UD on Johnson. Johnson doesn't seem like he likes fighting anymore.

Johnson has no motivation, he gets a title shot and walks in as a 260 lb ball of fat throwing these looping shots - and at 235 he looked like he needed to lose a few pounds. If he can't get it up for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world ( the WBC belt is the ONE that goes all the way back to bareknuckle champ John L Sulivan ), how the **** is he gonna get it up to fight Toney for nothing. Captain Kirk will come in fat, and Toney will make him lean back in the later rounds.

johnson for sure.

This is a pie-eating contest you're talking about right?

in the ring? who cares.

kirk's conditioning has improved since the last time ,you have to give him that. if kirk shows up at 220-225 i say kirk wins by UD

Kirk doesn't have a high enough workrate and doesn't have anything nasty enough in his arsenal to keep James away. Johnson has never impressed me. I know he has very good boxing skills when he is on top of his game, but I see James wearing him down with great bodywork and nullifying Johnsons gameplan with sharp counters. And for gods sake the mans name is Kirk...maybe thats what pisses me off. :D It would probably be a very nice BOXING match if they both came in great shape.

I would definately respect Toney a whole lot more if he beat Johnson. Does anyone know who Toney is looking to fight next?

this fight should get made both are coming off injuries and a couple of tuneups between them and a small title would do the trick. james has called out damn near the entire division and if he were to fight and beat kirk he would legitimize himself as a heavy

two of my favorite HW's, I would take Toney, because he would keep pressure on for 12 rounds, but sure if Kirk can last that long unless he is controlling the pace

James Toney in an easy win by way of UD. I haven't seen anything in Kirk Johnson that resembles a threat in a long time.

If Johnson shows up in shape and motivated i believe he can take care of Toney, but that is a bunch of if's?

the battle of the donut inhalers? I see toney winning.

There's no question whether or not Kirk J. would show up in shape....
There's NO WAY he'll come in shape.
HE IS A BUM....in the truest sense. I don't think the slob should ever earn another buck in the ring, again.
Talk about a phony.....the only real fighter he beat, was Maskaev. So much of Kirk's good press was based on his "athleticism", & potential.
Fact is, the pile of **** has a heart (& body) more suited for BOWLING.

Toney may not look in condition....but he IS in condition.

Haha...its like saying, "James wins easily by hard fought comeback KO!"

Two fat out of shape heavyweights who havent proved themselves?Hmmm sounds interesting, I'd say it wont go to the cards somebodys fat ass doesnt come out of the corner between the 6th-8th.

honestly an eating contest between the two would be ALOT more interesting. toney wipes the floor with him in the ring, a McRIbb sandwich eating contest though........toss up

I doubt Toney would be easy for any of the current heavyweight crop but he still needs to prove himself against a ' top ' heavyweight. Finding one is the problem. I would like to see him fight Chris Byrd though.

I take Toney, who cuts off the ring, hammers that fat body, frustrates and discourages Johnson until the unhearty man quits around the eighth round.

I'm just wondering, have you seen Toney in his last three fights? He has come in looking more and more cut with each bout. Guess what guys, he's not fat any more.

I've seen him and I'd say he still looks fat not as bad as he was but still I wouldn't say cut.

james toney looks like the guys on "worlds strongest man" right now. alot of muscle mixed with alot of fat. i would say manny pacquiao is "cut" , i wouldnt put james toney in that category :D

TheGreat1

why do you people focus on Toney's weight instead of his skill. this guy is a master boxer. and is not in bad shape, his last fight he was in great shape, and can go the distance with no problem. As for Kirk he came in over weight in that fight with VK but other than that his past fights he has been great, he showed good boxing skills, and is the only man in the past few years who was able to outbox ruiz, to bad he was DQ'd for low blows. most of which where not even low, just ruiz faking, because he knew he couldn't win

It would open doors for the winner, Toney will probably beat the whale, atleast i hope so i got no respect after how Johnsom showed upp against Vit.
A man who prepare with donuts dont deserve anything else.

Toney was fat and out of shape as a super-middle so yea Id say 218 is probably a little to high for him, Roy Jones was cut against Ruiz Toney has put on fat and muscle and beating somebody up for 12 rounds doesnt prove you are in shape when you actually have to box its a WHOLE lot different.

Toney would beat Kirk Johnsons chubby lookin like the fat kid from Stand By Me ass up and down and all around the ring. In all accounts he would stomp a mudhole in his ass and walk it dry. People (wrongly) mocky Toney for being out of shape but even with the weight issue he would knock that borderline retarded canuck out (and I'm Canadian!)

In his last few fights (including that er, big win against Gilbert Martinez) Kirk Johnson looks like he doesn't really want to fight anymore. I guaruntee if he stepped into the ring with any kind of attitude like that against Lights Out his lights would be ****ing shattered my friends.

I don't think Johnson has a good chance at all of winning. He has no grit, no toughness. He thrives on overwhelming opponents with his natural talent. Once the other guy doesn't leave, he folds. Toney is, if anything, one of the toughesy mother f*ck*rs in boxing. Like him or hate him, he will fight hard. Also, his own fat doesn't seem to ever really tire him out. He would eventually wear the blimp down.

Just my opinion.

Toney back in Feb at earliest. That's an injury that needs some time (bicep tendon).

I fear Johnson KO's Toney. I say this a bit but Toney eats overhand rights. That's ok against jones junior, not 250lb's+ johnson
