RAMPAGE DOES BREAK RIB IN FIGHT

MMAWeekly.com talked with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson briefly last night. Jackson confirmed to MMAWeekly that he did break a rib in his fight with Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

Jackson said, "Yeah he got me good. He broke my rib..." A subdued Jackson will speak with MMAWeekly Radio tomorrow and talk about his fight with Shogun and what is in his future.

Mauricio Shogun Rua said, "I felt it break (his rib) when I knee'd him in the fight." It's unknown how long Rampage will be out or when he will fight again.

Make sure you join hosts Ryan Bennett and Frank Trigg, not only tomorrow for Rampage's interview but today and everyday for great MMA talk radio.

I'll have to watch that fight again. All I remember is that Shogun was kicking Rampage's ass all over the ring, and Rampage wasn't looking at all like the guy who took out Chuck "The Claw" Liddell and Randleman. Maybe we'll never see that version of Rampage ever again.

I was reserving my judgment about Rampage untill this fight. I had an opinion similar to Kaps but after seeing him fight Shogun....he's just not the same.

Gotta give the man mad respect for hanging on the way he did with a broken rib. I bruised one of my floating ribs once I couldn't even pee standing. :(

Ya for sure. He did a good job covering up the pain to.

Yeah, but even before Shogun shattered his ribs, Rampage wasn't looking too good. He just didn't have the explosiveness or the agressiveness we're used to seeing.

I think that Rampages style doesn't match up well with the Chute Box style. Too many knees. Rampage comes in lookin for the slam or takedown.

Its a story you hear all too offen in combat sports. A great fighter gets KTFO in one fight and they are never the same again. Rampage got it twice and by the same guy.

Silva stole Rampages warrior spirit.

I admire Rampage and hate to totally jump off his bandwagon due to a bad showing but he barely resembles the same fighter in terms of effectiveness, spirit, attitude or courage.

I hope he still has it, he was a great fighter and seems like a genuinely nice guy. It'd be a shame for his career to end abruptly instead of gradually with him engaging in many more memorable fights.
