This event will be much, much, more than just Tarver vs Johnson II - this is going to be one hell of a stacked fight card that doesn't come along very often!

So, since I am having a house built there, and will be in it before the fight, this is my proposal, I will have plenty of room, so I am inviting all who wish to attend the fight to crash at my house for the weekend of the 16th through the 19th of June!

I am also suggesting that you all let me buy the tickets for you, so that all the friends here at BoxingScene can sit together. I also have about 6 or 8 girls from New Orleans coming up for the show, who will also be staying with me and some of them will be Ring Girls for the fight. I can get a special price that nobody else on this website is likely to be able to beat, so plan on being in the lower section, about 50 or 60 feet from the ring - fantastic view, with no refs or cameramen being in your way all night!

Look, I don't make this kind of offer to people who are just jerking my chain, in fact I have never offered a group of people this kind of seat upgrade, much less invited them into my home, so if you are not really going to the fight, please do not waste my time by saying you are! This kind of seat upgrade is something I usually only do for my close personal friends.

I have personaly invited a few of you, and that offer stands, but I am going to open the invitation to all, so that we may be able to have a great weekend together, including a BBQ/party at the old Soundtravelers' crib!

Fantastic, I am looking forward to this, as for the tickets, I will be talking with the promoter today, as I am heading off for yet another boxing event with Prizefight Boxing - this time Christy Martin headlines in a tune up fight for her.

We have plenty of time, I will be at the official press conf. for Tarver vs Johnson this Monday at the FedX Forum. I am figuring we have about another 1 or 2 weeks before we will have to get the money together, but it really depends on how ticket sales are going, so be prepared to send in your money via Western Union in a week if need be. I will let you know a exact price when I get back on Tuesday night. I will also get the official info on the Western Union office by my house and post it too.

If I have to pay for them up front, I will - as long as I don't get stuck with the tickets, (which I won't because I promise I will sell any unclaimed tickets!) This is going to be a blast!

yeah this will be fun to see the man who beat the man beat the man who beat the man again. errrr something like that.

I am looking forward to seeing the Pocket Rocket fight, I really like his all out assault style! There are some really big names on the undercard as well as some near future champions! Great chance to meet the champs before they get the belts. Everyone who attends with me meets the fighters, I will arrange some "group shots" for all my friends who make the trip...

As you know, I'd be there in a heartbeat if I were alone..but with my daughter in tow, it just isnt a good idea. All you guys want to party, and you SHOULD do just that..since I dont drink, and I dont really curse in front of her, we'd be such a drag for the entire party..and I wont do that to you guys! I hope all of you have a complete blast, and do so safely..but you gotta tell me all about it when it's all over and the dust settles :D I'll be thinking of all you guys too!

Hello folks! I just got back home from a very cool trip that started Friday morning as I headed to Lula, Mississippi for the Christy Martin fight, we had a great time, then it was off to Memphis, TN. for 2 days of hanging out with Glen Johnson, Dan Goosen, Antonio Tarver and the whole crew. Then on Tuesday, I flew up to New York City, NY. along with Anne Wolfe and Russ Young of Prizefight Boxing for an interview with Bob Simon of 60 Minutes, then off to New Jersey for a taping at CNBC for a different show, featuring Anne Wolfe and Jackie Frazier, I think it aired last night. I then flew down to Atlanta for a few hours and then back to Memphis, then I drove all the way back to New Orleans and got home at 5:30 this morning - I am seriously wiped out. I have a ton of picks and will be posting a new "Adventures Of The Soundtraveler" thread after I get some sleep!

I have great news for all attending, and it includes a great shot of the exact seats that I will have everyone upgraded to! You are going to LOVE THESE SEATS!!! FANTASTIC!!!

Also, I know that Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson will be checking out this website this week, as I told both camps all about it and they said they are looking forward to checking it out as soon as they get home!

Tickets for my friends are going to go for the low price of just $95.00 total and you will be upgraded to a $495.00 seat! I will post the Western Union office near me in the morning, but I can only get 10 of you in this section so it will have to be a first come first serve basis, I have all ten tickets in hand, I also have 10 more in the section right beside it reserved for me at the same $95.00 but as I said only ten can sit together in each section, the rest of the seats in my sections are already sold! I must have the money by the morning of the 15th of this month when I leave for Memphis again!

I will post the info for the closest western union by my house this afternoon, you are going to love these seats! The fighters will be walking right past you on the way to the ring which will be about 20 or 30 feet away! All the seats are by the walk in tunnel!

The 3 rows directly in front of the fence are $1200.00 seats, and the ring will be set up right where the light colored wood of the court begins in the pic! How is THAT for a seat upgrade my friends! Who is your buddy?!! LOL

OK, in order for me to get the money from Western Union for your tickets you need some info and I need some from all of you.

You will be sending the money via Western Union to the closest office to my house here in the New Orleans area.

Send the money to John D. Lyons (that's me) in Gretna, Louisiana (across the river from New Orleans) You also need my phone number which is (504)-304-6314

Then, when you send the money, you must send me a private message here at BoxingScene.com with your FULL NAME and your PHONE number, along with what CITY and STATE you are sending it from. They require me to have that info in order to get the cash from Western Union. Also, make sure you include the MONEY TRANSFER CONTROL NUMBER, that way we can both keep track of the money.

By the way, you will be in the HBO camera shot all night since you are facing the camera, so make up your "Hello Boxingscene.com" posters! I originaly wanted section 110, but could not get everyone seated together in a row, so I had to go with these which are next to 110 anyway. I didn't want to have some people sitting lower than others, I hope you all understand! Spinxjinx it's too bad you can't make it to the show!

you know... i have always wondered what she sounded like. does anyone else put voices in thier head for the posts they read? i do. each of you have your own voice and accent depending on where your location is. of course tracy has that southern twang.

I have been told this week that Mike Tyson will be there, along with Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, James Toney, and Magic Johnson and of course Ice T, who will lead Glen Johnson into the ring. Of course, I will believe everyone is there when I see them at ringside.

By the way, it looks like I will be working another ESPN "Tuesday Night Fights" card on July 5th, looks like an NABO Belt will be on the line in that one, I will keep you informed...

ST-Really sucks I cant make it, I was overly excited to meet everyone at such a great event. You all have a great time and enjoy yourselves, it is worth the trip and probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for most.

If there is another opportunity, I will be there...of course if you invite me ST. :)

We have the ENTIRE 1st row of seats! The fighters will enter the ring from the tunnel on the left of the pic, which is why I originaly wanted to get section 110 but to have everyone sitting in the same row, I had to go one section over. Great seats my friends! You will obviously be in the camera shot all night!

HBO are ****suckers for live events, I almost got thrown out because I was standing up and cheering. They are pricks and HBO demands the security to make sure that you remain seated at all times.

Atleast in my experience with HBO fights, but perhaps that was because it was a hometown crowd and wanted things to run smoothly.

That was at the Spadafora vs Dorin B.A.D. telecast, it could be different but the crowd was mixed with Spadafora fans and the others were heavily Romanians. A lot of fights broke out in the upper level. The lower bowl and ringside (where I was seated) was very strict, I cant speak for the others but also I was on the side where the camera shot.


I dont want to discourage you or anything like that, because it very well may be different considering the atmosphere wouldnt be as tense.

My cable bill is always $200 plus from watching ppv boxing, but my friend in Collierville (near Memphis) just called and he got us ring side tickets! I'm pumped, besides the Tyson fights which I went to) nothing like great boxing comes to TN. Nice to know that people like you guys are stoked as well. Also, cool forum I can tell you guys know your stuff.

First, welcome to the site. It's cool to see somebody else from Tn. posting here too. So far, the only people that can make it are Soundtraveler, me, Big Pappy and super lightweight. If there are any more I just dont know about them yet. Maybe all of us will get to meet you at the fight.

Sadly, not nearly as many as originally planned. Just ST, BigPappy and me (far as I know)
as for what we look like, my photo is in the gallery but I'm not sure about the others. ST will be in the ring announcing the first several fights (not the main event) but that wont be televised I dont think. On this thread there is a photo of our seats..maybe you can locate them and find us that way??

well i have to say last night was a blast. we did the unofficial weigh-ins and hung out on beale st. st is a trip! unfortunately i didn't have a camera to take the pics but james tony and lamon brewster were there. i got to talk to lamon for a few minutes which was cool. talked to michael buffer for a second. hung out with johnsons pops, brother and sister for several hours on beale st. man i have to say so far this trip has been well worth it. i would have tralveled from california to do this. any ways guys i will update you guys ealy tomorrow morning to repot on the fights!!!!!!!

I dont think from the seating you will be seeing much of the BS crew unless the fighters are backed up onto the ropes.

The side the seats are on, I believe is where the broadcast team is around and they dont show them throughout the telecast except before and after and that is facing the ring.

She got 3 hugs, 1 kiss on the cheek, an autograph and he called her 'pretty girl' ....you got an autograph and I got a handshake. I am so glad that everyone had a great time, and I am also sorry I didn't have time to get to hang out as much as I had hoped, but fight night is a very busy time for me, as there is much more to my job than just getting into the ring and talking!

I really enjoyed meeting everyone and will be posting some pics later this week when I get a chance to take a break! We are in the process of returning all the "loaner" cars to the car dealerships which means 3 of us are returning 12 cars, from the airport, and from hotels all over Memphis and casinos down in Tunica as well.

Dr. Freecloud got a quick pick of my old friend Roy Jones Jr. in my car along with Ref Bill Clancey, as I left the FedX Forum, they needed a ride so I said hop in and away we went! I will be posting that one too, since he used my camera to get the shot!

If the good Doctor hadn't gotten the shot, I don't think anyone here would have believed that Roy Jones hitched a ride with me - LOL - what a crazy life I lead!

Bill is a great guy, who I have had the pleasure of knowing for years, Roy Jones and I go back for about 5 or 6 years as well, it was great to have them both pile in for the ride....

Sounds like everyone had a great time. I was on the opposite side as you guys I think, (assuming you were were the fighters come out). I have a few pics I can put up soon. Was Soundtravelers party fun? I went to Tunica and won finally! Saw a few rock legends playing roulette together, that was cool. Wish I would have met you guys soooner so I could have had the access you guys had, i mean wow, meeting Winky and Roy, damn. I heard that Roy Jones may fight Tarver next, what do you guys think? I peresonally think he needs a warm up fight. But, if its in Memphis.......more good times to come!

i'd like to take some time out to tell you guys about 3 of the folks i met at this fight from boxing scene. i'll start with st since i met him first and had spent alot of time with him. what a super guy. funny thing is that this dude can name drop til next year if he wanted to but he isn't like that at all. i mean the few names he has mentioned to you guys are just a drop in the bucket. the man is for real. it was a pleasure hanging out with him the night before the fight and then again after the fights. and what a stage presence. persoanlly i'd choose hom over buffer. that lets get ready to rumble junk is sooo out dated. time for some new blood and new material. tracy finally made it there saturday just before the fights. i was standing in front of the forum and st called me over to give me her tickets so she could get in. i looked for about 20 minutesd till i went to the box office and there she was talking to the ticketer. you guys should have seen the relief on her daughters face(and what an adorable face i must say). they both seemed to be happy to see me with the tickets. it was a blast talking boxing and non boxing with intelligent people. her daughter knows more boxing than most of my friends. now i'm not the biggest winky fan (how could i be when her daughter is!) but i have to tell you was priceless watching this youngster get excited about meeting winky. she wore a t-shirt that she made that said something like I love you winky! i believe the love was in the form of a heart. i think she almost fainted meeting him. she couldn't speak for like 5 hours! j/k. both tracy and amber were alot of fun to hang with. you better watch that girl tracy, she is gonna be a heartbreaker! all you guys missed out on hanging out with some great people. hopefully there will be more chances to come in the future. anyways.....you guys i had a blast and it wouldn't have been the same without hanging out with you all.

My kid is still walking on clouds...the past week she's had me going thru all my back issues of Ring Mag, Ko, World Boxing and Box 2004 just to find photos of him to cut out and hang on her bedroom wall! :eek: Been real busy with that task :D

I haven't said anything negative too or about you since i swore not to. In fact I sent you a very nice pm telling you I was sorry for my part in our feud. Of course you didn't have class enough to respond, I didn't expect you to. And even though You continue to lie and make false alligations about me, I still am genuinely happy that your daughter got to see her "favorite" boxer. Funny though i could have sworn you said that was Vitaly. Oh, it doesn't matter, just another one of your lies i suppose.

And because I am a Christian man, despite everything, I forgive you. You can be as spiteful and cruel as you want. Or you can learn how to live as the Christian women you claim to be. Here's an idea though. No, I did respond to your apology and told you that I'd leave you alone and you do the same. I told you that my friends and I talk out disagreements instead of calling each other names (the way you did) and that too much had been said so I didnt want the association.
