View Full Version : Damn! I Fell For It!!!!
Truth 04-27-2005, 05:36 PM When I heard that Mike Tyson latest fight was going to be PPV I said I am not getting suckered in for $44.95. I said to myself and others I am not paying 44 dollars to see Tyson knockout a bum again. But I was recently thinking about what would be more exciting Mayweather/Gatti or a Tyson fight. Now I am a fan of Floyd Mayweather(as you can tell by my username)but too watch him dimatle Gatti won't we that exciting. Plus I can just watch the replay on HBO a week later.(I am subcribed to HBO, not Showtime.)I have the whole Tyson collection on DVD and would like to add this fight to the collection. SO I DECIDED I WOULD RATHER PAY TO SEE TYSON FIGHT INSTEAD OF MAYWEATHER! YOU WIN SHOWTIME I CAN'T RESIST A MIKE TYSON RETURN FIGHT! Its simple I could watch the Mayweather replay that probably won't be that exciting a week later but I won't be able to see the Tyson replay and I am a huge fan. Theres nothing like a live Tyson fight. I can't believe I fell for it....LOL :D

puppy_dogg 04-27-2005, 05:38 PM showtime replays their fights to, they always replay tyson's fights just for the ratings
jack_the_rippuh 04-27-2005, 05:49 PM Tyson is addictive. There's not one member on boxingscene who can live without him.
Tha Greatest 04-27-2005, 05:54 PM Would u rather pay to watch Tyson beat up some bum?
or
Would u watch the upset of the year and watch Mayweathers record become 33-1?
LoL
PessimisticPug 04-27-2005, 06:14 PM I have easily been able to keep away from Tyson for many years. It is obvious to me and other knowledgable people in the game that his best days are FAR behind him. Anything to do with Tyson now is done only because of the great name that he had in the late 80's and earkly 90's, the name is the same but the fighter is far from it..........Rockin' :boxing:

All Mike Tyson has right now is a name.......Mike Tyson, nothing else...

Kid Achilles 04-27-2005, 08:20 PM I don't understand how you would rather watch Tyson KO a no-hoper than see your favorite boxer in what is probably going to be the biggest payday of his career. Perhaps you're just nervous that Mayweather will get knocked out and you don't think you could take watching it live?
Darth Warrior 04-27-2005, 08:39 PM I think he was being sarcastic maybe???
Tyson Sucks.

I still havn't definitley made up my mind. See I am a fan of Tyson and Mayweather and I only am subscribed to HBO, so I could see the replay of Mayweathers fight. After thinking about it more I am starting to lean back to ordering Mayweather/Gatti. And then I will order Tyson/Mcbride on DVD someday to complete my collection.
joe kurtz 04-27-2005, 09:56 PM Uh, why not just add Showtime to your cable package? It's only another $10 - $12 a month. Then your problem will be solved.

My parents will get pissed if I ask to add another channel. :D

Its pretty simple, if your a fan you order his fights. If you hate Tyson you don't. Then their are the curious onlookers who order Tyson fights.

I dont hate tyson at all. In fact i became a fan and wish him the best since i saw him speak on maxboxing.
But paying for an expensive ppv of his against a nobody, is something i rather not do. If you got money to burn and wont miss more lucrative matchups then thats cool, but i dont so, i try to spread my money around to whats really worth it.
For example, what i did with my money this time was I ordered the relatively cheaper ESPN PPV for 30 bucks. Then im going to order Showtime for a month and watch Castillo vs Corrales. And i still have money left over.

for real man. even if it was a choice between sitting in a dark house with no electricity and paying to see tyson fight i choose darkness. no desire to se him fight. no desire to waste hard earned cash on that ass-clown.
