View Full Version : The fix is in for Ruiz!!!
SacTown1 04-27-2005, 12:37 PM Another boxing news site just posted a picture of Johnny Louise's head trainer/manager Croney Stone, with his arm around New York State Athletic Commission Chairman Ron Scott Stevens, from a public workout earlier this week.
Why in the world would a head chairman be hangin' out with a fighter's trainer/manager the week of a fight? Hmmmmmmm do I smell.....SHENANIGANS?!?!?!
I am revoking my original prediction of Toney by Split Decision, Johnny Louise will win a Split Decision instead, although Toney will dominate the fight and control the pace
I have a really bad feeling that Saturday night will be another black eye for boxing, Toney's only hope is a KO

ejk22 04-27-2005, 12:42 PM You can bet if this fight goes the distance and is up in the air that the nod will go to Ruiz. Even if Toney in most peoples eyes does enough to win they won't give it to Toney it will go to Ruiz. Toney needs to knock Ruiz out.
mauricio95 04-27-2005, 01:08 PM you are in the wrong sport if you believe fight are fixed :D
go ruiz go!!!!

Super_Lightweight 04-27-2005, 03:57 PM As the fight draws near I feel more and more like Toney can win, although I pick Ruiz to win. If Ruiz wins by fix then I will be very disappointed, but not surprised.
Sac, I pray that you are wrong.

I heard either Stoney or Richard Steele.

If Toney loses, it will because of himself and nobody else.

thats harsh..
toney was a middleweight & hes fighting the giant huggy bear :D
Kid Achilles 04-28-2005, 06:52 PM Toney looks to be in the worst shape of his career in that picture.

But pretty damn close, **** Toney for making the Heavyweight division less exciting.
Kid Achilles 04-28-2005, 07:16 PM Yeah but that one was taken at the begining of training camp most likely. The Toney in the yellow shirt is the Toney that will be stepping into the ring on Saturday night. That is his fighting shape.
Sadly, I have heard that Toney entered training camp at 260 lbs for this one. He has actually lost quite a bit of weight just to make 233.

Yeah that was coming off of his achilles injury but still Toney shouldnt let himself go that much, I mean good god the guy was a 160 pound fighter.
Toney looks like utter garbage and I hope Ruiz embarrasses him for not backing up his **** talking. You could say we are blowing the weight issue out of proportion but you have to be quick on your feet to be Ruiz.
This fight could have been a pretty good fight and landed us with an exciting heavyweight champ but the weight will weigh Toney down....
Honestly, Dan Goosen looks like he could go in their and do better than Toney.
Kid Achilles 04-28-2005, 07:30 PM Spinks,
Toney needs to start taking diet and fitness lessons from you.
I've never had much respect for talented boxers that come to fight looking like ****. It really has a negative impact on the sport. Casual fans see guys like Kirk Johnson and Toney and say "Man, boxing has really gone to ****. Look at that fatass."
Toney takes the cake though. He is a natural middleweight and looked a little soft at even 175 pounds. He has no business ever weighing 260 lbs. Not at any point in his life. He is 5'9" tall! You have to try in order to get so fat at that height.
