Whenever I shadowbox, or hit the heavybag, I always feel like my handspeed between punches is extremely slow. I throw my punches with good technique, and I throw them at full extension (like for instance, when I throw the 1-2-3, I throw ALL the punches at full extension, so the transition between the Cross to the Left Hook is a lot slower than if I threw a short Cross to set up the Left Hook), however there is a slow transition between punches.
Do I need to throw certain punches will less power and more speed to set up punches with more emphasis?

It all takes time and practise. It's important that you throw punches with good technique, as time passes and you get better, you will also get faster. Just keep on working on it

The main thing i would advise you to do is relax your hands inside the gloves. You dont need to have your first clenched at all times you can clench on impact.
Also when you throw you combo be more fluid with it, dont think!! just it fly. I guarantee you this works for you.
What not to do.........throw your combo like they are singles, the transition needs to be made as a combination not as 3 separate punches.

when i throw combinations i bend my knees just slightly more to give better centre of gravity, then sort of bounce slightly as i throw, every punch like a miniture stance rather than a punch. sugar ray leonard sometimes did a bit when he threw flurrys, sugar ray robinson almost raises to his tip toes and bounces a bit when he goes all out on attack.
