Zab Super Judah 04-25-2005, 08:03 PM read it on *********....he said hes not ready for a tough opponent like margarito yet.......good move by mosley.....he needs a couple more fights......margarito should focus on judah...and hope the dlh and judah fight doenst go through
Darth Warrior 04-25-2005, 08:05 PM De La Hoya should fight Mosely.
Neither of them could take on Judah, or Magarito at this point in their rapidly declining careers.
AintGottaClue 04-25-2005, 08:08 PM they both need liek 2-3 fights at there new weight before they take on yound blood, hell i dont think they should even fight a big name they might not be able to win at this stage. maybe a big fight just for money then retire. maybe fight some c higher B level guys.

I think Mosley rather fight the easier Judah.

He has to not look like such a savage in his fights if he wants to fight some of these big money chumps...He almost knocked lujan's ear off and put some serious hands on cintron...
THRILLAinmanila 04-25-2005, 08:26 PM IMO Mosely is on the decline and will not be able to beat a Margarito even after getting some tune-up fights
borikua 04-25-2005, 08:32 PM What???He comes back to 147 and now he don't want to fight the best?
Super_Lightweight 04-25-2005, 09:01 PM This is no surprise. Well, in a way it is. Mosely's pride used to see himself in the ring with fighters he was not ready for. Now, he's more cautious. What's no surprise is that Mosley is not ready for Margarito. I should add...he never will be.
SacTown1 04-25-2005, 09:04 PM Mosley has had 1 solid, legit win in the new millenium, in 2000 vs. Oscar, the rematch sucked and Mosley got crushed by Wright and Forrest....he's beyond gone, he hasn't really been a world-class contender in nearly 5 years
What???He comes back to 147 and now he don't want to fight the best?
I think he deserves a couple of fights so Shane himself can see how he stacks up. Sure he may be confident when he talks to the media but the guy has got too have some serious questions about how good he really is at this point.
He has fought big fight after big fight for a long time now and for me I have no problem with him turning down a fight with quite possibly the divisions best fighter right now so he can work on some things.
Shane has already proven that he has balls, maybe now it is time that he flexes his brain and takes a couple more tune up fights to truly figure out where he stands.
Good move for Sugar Shane if he ever wants to become a legit champion again.
Oh by the way, regardless of what happened last Saturday David Estrada is a damn good fighter...keep that in mind.

I agree with you 100%, BUT I think that someone like Shane should only go for big fights at this point of his career...
mauricio95 04-25-2005, 10:56 PM i dont blame him
legend 04-25-2005, 11:00 PM If Shane gets into the ring with a fighter like Margarito too early, he's right back to where he started. Good move for the Mosley camp.
The Troll 04-25-2005, 11:12 PM The reason he did that most likely is because I believe right now Mosely is the #1 contender at Welterweight for both the IBF and WBC, so he is Judah's mandatory eventually, probably next year. He does not want to risk the #1 contender status ranking by messing with Margarito. It might be likely that your going to see De La Hoya vs Mosely III if Mosely remains at welterweight. He is going to end up with a mandatory title shot eventually whether its against De La Hoya, Judah, or whoever.
I dont see anyway Judah is going to able hang on to the Welterweight title for much longer, he will get past his mandatory Cosme Rivera, I think that fight is a mandatory, but major challengers are lining up now like De La Hoya and Mosely, and there is always Lt Welterweights lurking in the backround, like Sharamba Mitchell, Cotto, Gatti, Mayweather, and of course Tzyu.
mauricio95 04-26-2005, 10:31 AM the bottom line is shane is afraid to face a determined and tough oponent on margarito i can't say i blame him :D
shane make a wise desicion

I wouldn`t call it fear. Margarito isn`t Felix Trinidad but it does make sense that Shane refuses to fight him. If they fight at this stage the money isn`t going to be as good as say a Judah or a De La Hoya fight and that Margarito has good skills and is hungry would make for a 50/50 fight. If Shane loses to Margarito, no dis - respect to Margarito, it`ll destory Shane`s career at this point. Its only the WBO belt at stake also. Better for Mosley to fight Judah, more money, the undisputed welter title and with Judah`s mentallity and weak chin Shane has a good chance of beating him. Why risk fighting someone for low reward? Shane's camp is just being sensible!

i agree, margarito is just too hot and too determined to make it big this year. shane's move is more of a career-management move, so to speak ;)
De La Hoya should fight Mosely.

stick to wreslting dumb ass..i dont see how de la hoya loseing to hopkins (middleweight) has anything to do with a margarito fight
GROCERYGETTERS 04-26-2005, 07:31 PM This is a wise move by Shane. I mean he was once an awesome fighter and regarded pound for pound the best over some of the best fighters of his generation and he deserves respect for seeking out top opposition. True he hasn't "won" a fight in a while but he hasn't shied away from the best comp. That was also his downfall. He took on guys that were big risk and little reward. Even though I personally think he may never beat Margarito, hes still giving himself a chance to rebuild himself first. Maybe after 2 fights, he may very well end up fighting him cus Margarito is a player now.
m00ks 04-26-2005, 08:28 PM De La Hoya should fight Mosely.

If DLH would drop the shoulder D and stick to his old style, he'd beat Marguarito clean. The latter had trouble landing on Cintron, he can forget about landing on DLH. DLH's faster, quicker, more accurate and he's got the experience to win. Unless of course, Marguarito lands on the body :D
Truth 04-26-2005, 08:45 PM Honestly I think Mosley should have just taken this fight, I think he had a chance in winning.
TRUE WARRIOR!!! 01-03-2009, 08:24 PM Honestly I think Mosley should have just taken this fight, I think he had a chance in winning.
we will find out soon if mosley has any chance but i think all the real boxing fans know whether it was 2005 or 2009 mosley was going to get knocked out. :boxing:
ferocity 01-03-2009, 09:16 PM People here actually respected Tony.
The best of Tony was in these years and he didn't get the chance to beat the top elite fighters. But he doing it now, how he can still go strong for a few years. I just think he'll out grow welterweight this year.
