View Full Version : Cintron, a superstar too soon?

Round 1

I had the pleasure of watching Cintron fight live when he fought in our town about three years ago. His fight was a four or a six rounder fight, I can’t recall precisely, and Cintron wasn’t anything more than that, just a preliminary fighter.
Three years later, he’s headlining a PPV card. Is this a case of a young fighter thrown into the lime light too soon? I ‘m sure Kermit will make a come back and will move to bigger and better things.
We haven’t seen the best of him yet, but some things take time, Let’s give him credit for stepping into the plate and give him time to mature as a fighter.
I was rooting for Margarito tonight and can honestly tell you that I will be keeping an eye on Cintron, who I believe is a future champ.

Cintron isn't a superstar yet, and wouldn't have been even if he beat Margarito. Cintron didn't even hold a real belt.

His career isn't over; It was about the right time for a big fight against a big opponent. Don't fault ESPN for putting this over the other fights on the card.

Do realize, though, that the whole card was advertised on the commercials, not just the main event - and that part of the selling point was 4 fights for just 30 dollars. It wasn't Margarito vs. Cintron. Live on PPV.

I hope Cintron can use this experience to become better. I like that guy's heart.

This is what happens when you put a young fighter who isn't ready in with a fighter who is a seasoned veteran. You can't go from C level and lower B level fighters with no chin to A class fighters with great chins and expect to win no matter how good people think your power is.

I respectfully and totally disagree with you. Champions have balls. Cintron doesn't. he got schooled. No shame there. But he also looked back to his corner like a scared pup to get them to stop the fight. Things weren't going the way poor little wittle Kermit wanted. He got a cut...wahhhh!....he got knocked down...wahhhh!....he quit and he has little heart.

Here he was on the biggest stage of his career fighting a guy who can get hurt and Cintron decided he had enough after getting slapped around pretty good for a couple of rounds. There, in front of thousands of people, he wussed out. Would he have won if he had continued? Very unlikely. Would he have retained his dignity if he went out with some balls? Yes.

I don't want to hear "why risk injury?" or "its not worth it" arguments from his camp either. If you don't want to risk injury, get into another business, not one where the object is to punch another man in the face. Don't freaking quit and then bawl like a little baby after its done. Poor wittle Kermit.....b**tch.

He's gutless, he's a disgrace, and he wasted my money.

Cintron needs to mix his shots up because its obvious he was trying to land that big right and Margarito could see it coming. He has pretty poor footwork and it probably because he's setting his feet for the power shots to much.

Cintron could still be a good fighter, he just needs to learn that power won win you every fight, there's always gotta be a back up plan for when the going gets tough.

I dont think he has no heart, its just human nature to be scared at certain things, he's just gotta learn to deal with the big situations.

Why don't you tell where I'm wrong in my analysis instead of postulating general grievances and personal attacks- and if you do decide to do so, I ask that "u" focus on grammar and puncuation a little more and profanity a little less this time. Does that work "4 u?"
