I just recently started getting interested in amateur boxing...It's good to see great fighters on the come-up...I had some questions though....

1. What other national tournaments are there, besides golden gloves, and when are they held????

2. How do you work your way up to a national tournament?? Do you just have to win a state tournament to get there???

3. How many rounds are there and how long are they????

Just wondering...Thanks guys..

Well I don't know how USA boxing tournaments work seeing as I live in Australia, but I can tell you that Schoolboys (13-14 year olds) and Juniors (15-16 year olds) box 3x2 minute rounds, Youths (17-19 olds) box 4x2 minute rounds, and Elite boxers (19 and over) box 3x3 minute rounds. And 17 year old and older boxers can skip the youth category and fight as Elites if they wish.

In Australia you need to win a state title to compete at national titles so I'm assuming the USA is similar.
