View Full Version : Final prediction thread for Wladimir vs Eliseo????
spinksjinx 04-22-2005, 11:16 AM Whats your pick and why?
My pick Eliseo, possibly by late round KO but I am sticking with decision.
Why? Eliseo is undefeated was protected (but so was Wlad) he is a strong fighter with heart....On top of that, he is cuban and wont quit....
Wlad will get him in the early rounds and he will "calm the storm" and tire Wladimir out in the late rounds and keep his distance and move in when Wlad drops his guard when he gains confidence (he does this a lot)
Eliseo over Wladimir, Id be willing to drop another 100 million dollar bet on this one. :D
abdiel2k3 04-22-2005, 11:26 AM think im ogin with castillo too
to me it seems that wlads already been outpunched
meaning strength
that had to have taken away alot of confidence
so whats he got now?
his ability to throw alot of punches in combinations
well now hes fighten someone that can do the same
he may not have the exact combo ability of wlad
but if i rememebr correct
he can let his hands go
so i think this is gonna be the fight that takes wlads will to fight
Konstantin 04-22-2005, 11:30 AM Im gion gto have to go with Vladimir. I wish I could take you up on the mill dolla bet but alas I only have 4542.

Great analysis, while Eliseo isnt a name it will prove what Wlad has left and will be do or die for him.
Im excited actually.

Ten Mill straight up and you're on. I like Wlad.

yeah anothe rupset Ko loss for wlad is my prediction
Boxerdog 04-22-2005, 12:35 PM You guys may be right but I don't see how you would arrive at your conclusion.
18-0 and 1 with the high-point being a decision against a shell of his former self Moorer? (low point being a draw against Osama Jomama! :D )
I think his management team gets the blame for putting him in against a good, desperate fighter. Too much, too soon boyz!
Soundtraveler 04-22-2005, 01:49 PM I have to go with Castillo by a 7th or 8th round TKO, I look for the usual Wlad to run out of gas and get careless...
legend 04-22-2005, 01:52 PM Im picking WK. I feel like he has probably taken his time with this fight and has a plan to pick his shots more rather than just going all out with power shots. If WK can do this to preserve his energy, he can KO Eliseo.

....Bingo!!!! Give the man a prize. I think castillo is in way over his head.

You are a fine student, Weedhoppah. ;)
SacTown1 04-22-2005, 04:29 PM How is Castillo in over his head??? both of these guys are top 25-30 fighters, just because Vladimir has a past doesn't mean that Castillo won't have a future.... I think this is an even-steven match-up, I got Castillo by KO in 6 or less
Boxerdog 04-22-2005, 04:35 PM Just an opinion which is based on Castillo's lack of experience with top echilon fighters, bud.
Surely you can see the reasoning behind it....or is Sactown located at the intersection of my left leg and my right leg?

I love how everyone rips SacTown, I knew that my hometown of Sacramento and its inherent nickname would be the butt of jokes by the 12 year old computer geeks on this site (BoxerDog, Kimmy, SturmRules, etc)....
Castillo is inexperienced, but he has a solid amateur back ground so traveling 2 Germany won't be a thang for him, plus I'll take an inexperienced fighter like Castillo over an over-the-hill has-been like Vlad any day of the week and twice on Tuesdays
loangunZ 04-22-2005, 04:44 PM I think wlad will pull this one out I think the last few fights have forced him to re-evaluate himself. I think we may see a new Wlad he will pick his shots and I think the weight loss will inturn improve the stamina issues.

Careful SAC .... guys like Boxerdog can respond pretty big when tested. Just the other day, BOXDOG sent me a PM saying I was gonna' be "Ignored", plus he called me dweeb. He's just a big mean man. By the way, did I mention he's approaching fifty? So, don't get him worked up 'cause you might be sued for his coronary.
BOXERDOG .... don't respond to anything I say.
Remember, you are "ignoring me".
Fareastwarrior 04-22-2005, 04:57 PM Wladimir will win this fight. The only thing I concern is his confidence, cause since his defeat against Sander he never acted the same. He knows if he screwed this time again, than his career is over.
Boxerdog 04-22-2005, 04:58 PM Golly!
I have a stalker!! :D
Golly!
I have a stalker!! :D
Remember BOX, we're all friends here, until you decide otherwise.
I'll promise to use smiley faces, so you'll know when I just kidding, OK? :) That way, we'll understand each other.
Not stalking, just funnin' ya'.
hollister 04-22-2005, 05:09 PM I think Wlad will take it slow on this one, pick his shots like others have already said, and Castillo will lack the reach or speed to pot shot him, so he will be boxed like Byrd was. I give Wlad till about rd. 6 or 7 to get him out, unless Castillo get stupid and tries to take Wlad out, could be as early as rd. 2 or 3...
Just to clarlify, I take Wlad either way lol
By the way BOX. Seems your tryin' to start something with SAC right now. Like you did last week with me. :)
You make a decent point about Cstillo's handlers putting their guy in with a man with much more experience, plus exposure to adversity. But, you figure Castillo might rattle Vlad if he happens to make good contact a couple times?
hollister 04-22-2005, 05:14 PM I think it might piss Wlad off, and get him KO'd. If he does happen to catch Wlad, you guys are gonna see that Wlad's chin isn't as bad as many make it out to be. I know, I know, everyone will say that Eliseo doesn't have a punch. Nonetheless, those who pick Castillo to KO Wlad will get surprised if he does connect.
Bozo_no no 04-22-2005, 05:20 PM This will also be Wlad's 1st pro fight without his brother in his corner. Vitali is in LA because of his back, and won't make the trip.
I wonder if that will have any bearing on Wlad.

Early in this fight, Castillo will not be patient and will want to test that chin. He has nothing to lose. If Vlad doesn't fall to pieces, it will probably be a surpirse to Castillo, who took this fight, in part, thinking that Vald might be done before they enter the ring.
It's kinda' like Pac going both barrels aginst Marquez, so that he took care of business before his one-dimensional style was figured-out. Of course, that didn't work for him. Maybe Castillo will try a little of the same?
Neuraxis 04-22-2005, 05:29 PM Fellow Klitschko fans, don't be so quick to write off Castillo. He did more than hold his own against McCline. He was pretty quick and was constantly beating him to the punch. It should be a good fight.

Yeah, I think it's very possible he might do something like that. If Wlad's smart, he'll keep his distance though and work off his jab (we know he has a good one). But you're right, Ya just never know lol

I think that two things are evident here:
(1) that you are just a tad thin-skinned for a boxing messageboard
(2) that you just are not comfortable with my sarcastic sense of humor (and that is ALL it is)
I merely defended my opinion to Sac and then made what I thought was a pretty funny aside. (Hey! They aren't ALL gems!)
To answer your question, I think Wlad's chin is definetly suspect but I'm not ready to say that he has NO whiskers.
There is no real shame in getting K.O.ed by Golf-Boy since by all accounts he hits like a mule. The next time he was so tired from launching bombs that you or I would've had a shot at knocking his big ass down! I stand by my original assertion that Manny lost that fight by not saying these simple words:
"Son, I don't think this guy is gonna go down soon, you better save something in the tank!"
Peace.

McCline is a b*tch with a thyroid problem.
Kid Achilles 04-22-2005, 08:47 PM It'll be a good fight for as long as it lasts. Castillo is no pushover; he's pretty quick and when I saw him on television he was in phenomenal shape. However, Wladimir's handlers would not put him in with a guy who really has a chance of upsetting him. There are plenty of second and third tier heavyweights with names they could have chosen. Instead they opted for an unbeaten and mostly unknown Castillo. I think they know something we don't.
I think Wlad KO's him after a few rough moments, courtesy of Catillo's speed and aggression. It won't go longer than six.

.....Sounds like a great call to me!!! I think you may have hit the nail on the head with that one.
Slipx 04-22-2005, 08:57 PM I placed a 50 dollar bet on Wlad, rd 5 stoppage
phallus 04-22-2005, 08:59 PM I have to go with Castillo by a 7th or 8th round TKO, I look for the usual Wlad to run out of gas and get careless...
ah, Nostradamus speaks again!!! :D
!! Mr. Soprano 04-22-2005, 09:51 PM W.Klitchko TKO - by end of 6th
.....I'm willing to make some late bets on the Wlad fight for anyone interested. Anyone willing to bet 500 million???

Kid Achilles 04-22-2005, 10:53 PM 500 million on a fight like this? Where do you guys get this kind of money? I've never broke 400,000 points and I've made a decent amount of posts. How do you earn points other than make posts?
dempseyfire 04-22-2005, 10:53 PM Castillo is a blown up light HW who started his career at WELTERWEIGHT! He has some skills but no punch (he hit the soft chinned Moorer flush many times and Michael wasn´t even seriously hurt). He´s a carefully picked confidence builder for Wlad. Klitschko KO 5.
Tha Greatest 04-22-2005, 10:57 PM Wlad by KO

Real estate, the drug trade..
I personally sell a little booty from time to time. ;)

Yeah I noticed that for Boxrec it doesn't list the weight for a lot of his fights, but that has to be a misprint. He's listed as fighting a light heavyweight in his first fight, then three months later he's listed as fighting a featherweight. It doesn't make sense.

....I love Soundtraveler but a Nostradamus he aint. When it comes to the Klits(Vit in particular) his judgement is clouded for some reason. He dislikes them and would predict a loss for them in just about every fight.
Boxerdog 04-24-2005, 04:53 PM Congrats to you for the fantasy bookie win......I was pretty sure of a K.O. victory for Wlad, just thought he would pace himself even more so I bet "K.O. after 6".
spinksjinx 04-24-2005, 05:12 PM Um....cough, cough! :D
I will get that 10 million shortly....Should have bet 100 :)

WOW Great Prediction

Shut the **** up!
You should know I am horrible at making predictions by now....I always lose a bet like 90% of the time.

... another deep prediction about Wlad
Nautilus 08-19-2005, 09:23 AM What would that be?
Many people predicted that Castillo would beat Wlad.
Today, Castillo is regarded as a bum who had no chance of beating Wlad.
I just see too much inconsistency.

Ahh ok gotcha, everybody makes bold statements come fight time....We are always heavy to criticize fighters....
Top 4 heavyweights today
Vitali
Wladimir
Byrd
Barrett
Yeah thats right.
....I am so glad this came back up. Not to bash the predictors but to show that alot of people gave Castillo a great shot to beat Wlad. Once Wlad destroyed him then you never heard another word and the haters acted like Wlad beat a stiff. If guys like Spinx and Abdiel thought that Castillo had a chance then I think that Wlad deserves more credit for that win. I respect those guys opinions and I thnk they know boxing.

I bash Wladimir for not having a glass chin but not having defense and acting like he was invincible....Because really that is his downfall, I think he mistakes confidence for ****iness and it shows....Although his skills is far superior than a lot of heavyweights he just doesnt put them to use...I would think over a span of around 45 fights he would fight like a seasoned pro.
I believe Wladimir is his own worst enemy.

Eliseo didnt make it out of the 4th...So that is void hahaha....J/P
The fact on the Castillo fight is that A LOT of people gave Wlad no chance..So I see why this thread was brought up...I think a lot of people picked Eliseo though because of his KO rate and we was expecting another upset.....
But after the Castillo fight I realized what was wrong with Wladimir which I stated above.
