Apparently very much in the works.

Thoughts?

once again, Hopkins just made the young, KO artist Kelly Pavlik look bad in winning a UD, so any power that Green has won't mean a thing against Bhop, Bhop is way too crafty and technical to get hit by anything serious, and green sure won't be able to outbox bhop.

bhop by UD.

The comparison with Pavlik is valid, but I can see some advantages in Green's favour. Pavlik is oversized at middleweight, but I thought his vaunted power was quite faded at the catchweight he and BHOP fought at (170lbs?) and after the fight I felt Pavlik should have tried forcing the fight at a lower weight. He looked slower (than usual) and fairly flat in a discouraged looking effort, but did show plenty of chin and guts.

I think Greens increases in weight have seen the opposite, that is, he has picked up some speed (still not quick by any stretch of the imagination) and his power is nearly a legitimate force. Both he and Hopkins have a full arsenal of illegal moves they can unleash on each other and I think Green can make it a fight. The main point will be if Green can maintain enough workrate and effective pressure to trouble Hopkins. Against such a great spoiler and with shots that are fairly slow to set up, he may only be able to mount offense in spurts which means BH by UD down the stretch. I'll go with DG by UD by virtue of higher workrate though.

I'd expect Green to come to this fight better prepared than any of his previous fights, still though if the Hopkins that faced Pavlik shows up, it's around a 9 rounds to 3 UD, if age has finally caught up with him, who knows?

Good analysis.

I don't like this matchup for Danny though. BHop has an absolute iron chin and lets face it, Danny's main attribute is still his power. I don't think his workrate will get it done. You need Calzaghe-like workrate to get the better of BHop and Danny isn't even close to that. I think Bernard would win a decision over Danny. Just too much skill and cunning.

If I was handling Green I would tell him to go after someone else.

I agree, he would be lucky to win any round.

Hopkins is a wily old fox who knows all the tricks. He has turned in several good performaces recently against Calzaghe and Pavlik. Consider his spoiling tactics against JC. He clinched frequently and even faked lowblows to catch a breather.

I don't think Hopkins has faced anybody with Green's size or punching power. Sure they said the same for Pavlik, but I agree with Classic, Green will be a much tougher fight.

I guess it's hard to fathom Green defeating consecutive HOFers. But he will surely give it a red-hot go and has stamina and age on his side. I'm glad Green is gunning for this fight, he's confident and riding a wave of success so why not.

I hope Green knocks him out, but unless Hopkins ages suddenly in this fight I think Bernard will win a moderately close decision. No shame in losing to a living legend.

I wouldn't mind seeing Green stop Hopkins, however if he wins, he will let it get so much to his head he will think he is the best fighter in the world, which at this stage is far from reality.

It'd be great to see another star like Bhop come here to fight; I think he'll take it by a comfortable UD too, Greens best chance is if Bhop suddenly starts showing his age which isn't something you want to be relying on... that being said it isn't outside the realm of possibility. Was actually talking about this the other day with a friend, about how Danny could be set up to look great by beating these old legends... he joked about how Green would fight Muhammad Ali (age, parkinsons and all) to cement his "legacy" after
Also people are saying there might be Darchinyan Donaire rematch on undercard... I'd be super stoked to see Donaire fight here too...

Green will look like Tarver did against Hopkins.
Tarver who was the younger, stronger fighter lost convincely by UD. I reckon.

its hard to know what to expect from Danny at this point. He is obviously better at CW but even though he has won a title and KOed Roy since his big "comeback" He still hasnt shown he is good enough to go with the best boxers. Its hard to forget Mundine and Beyer also although im gonna back the Aussie if this fight goes ahead. Dont ask me why I just dont like the Nard that much, its more that I hope Danny knocks him out then I believe itll actually happen
Its great that guys like B Hop and Roy are coming out here for the money lol

If Donaire comes down to fight Vic on the same card??...well I will be there...cant see it happening though to be honest...I mean I was at the RJJ vs Green fight and there was 12-13 thousand at most...I reckon Vic rematching Donaire could draw that alone...if they are both on the same card I would think it would outdraw Green vs Mundine...they should have it somewhere bigger...Etihad perhaps??

Let me tell you one thing, Green got a lucky punch on Roy Jones, it happened once and it'll never happen again in a million years, B-Hop would clown Greens ass!
