Tye Fields. That beer would go straight to his "bicep" muscle.

Jack Dempsey once drank an entire case of Wiskey, that's like 18 bottles to cure himself of pneumonia. My bet is him.

This one's a no brainer. The same fighter who once ate 50 hot dogs before a fight on a bet. They had to cut his boxing shorts to get them up over his bloated gut.

I'm talking about "Two Ton" Tony Galento of course. The guy even owned a bar so I'm sure he kicked back an ungodly amount of booze in his day.

Probably Kali Meehan. Aussies are the drinkingest (is that even a word? ;) ) bastards on the planet. I spent some time with a few Aussies, SAS guys, and I never met anyone before, or since, that could put away an equivilent amout of beer (pound for pound) that these guys did.

He'd have had to spend a great deal of time doing it...probably at least a few days, if not more. If you down a 5th of Jack Daniels all at once, you die. Period. I know this to be fact because I've witnessed it. If you stretched it out over 4 or 5 hours, you just get stupid drunk, but all at once and you get planted.

I think James Toney takes this one easy.

Its a drinking contest, not drug sniffing.
IMO the best drinker is Valuev.

Of the current crop definitely Valuev. No one comes close in terms of natural size.

I'd like this to be a proper boxing forum... Where people discuss proper boxing topics.

Please stop posting this sort of crap thread... And If anyone does, make a point NOT to post on it.

All you gotta do is post something boxing related... It ain't hard!

You know, I just gotta ask....how does someone here under 2 months, with under 300 posts end up with over 4 mil in points (just in pocket)? I've got like 20 grand (if I'm lucky) and have only given away about 2500 or so, or lost any in any other way. It's not like the points mean anything to me, but the curiousity is killing me.

Not trying to be a smartass or anything, I'm genuinely curious.

I like downloads... I like watching boxing vids... So I upload for others, and they download for me...

People ask what I've got, and I upload... I don't do it now, because I'm in a members lounge and we share.

That's not true. It totally depends on how big you are. I have seen a bottle of Jack finished off and someone not die.

I admit that this is not a smart idea and thet it could kill most people but if you drink heavily on a regular basis and way 250 or more, a bottle of Jack should be possible.

Do you know who John Belushi is?

I knew a guy who, while not an alcoholic, was a routine drinker, weighed about 235, and did croak from a 5th...admittedly he was well slaughtered before the 5th, so that's likely a large contributing factor.

That's why I posted that response....I've seen it happen.

He was a friend, probably couldn't be considered a close, personal friend, but we were friendly....anyway, this was years ago, back during my first year in the military. The worst part of that incident was being the one to find him stone-cold on the couch of the connecting lounge in our barracks the next morning. It was the first corpse I'd seen (skinny 17 year old kid at the time) up close and personal, other than funerals of my grandparents, etc. I wasn't really shaken, but it did wake me up to the fragility of life in general.

By the way...it was his birthday party that he drank himself to death at.

How old was he?

Hmmm..I believe it was his 25th birthday, though it could've been 26th. It was a big deal at the time, for the entire base, but I haven't thought about it that much for over 20 years now. Pretty sure it was 25, though. Shame, when kids that age do something stupid enough to kill them.

...Yeah, I had a buddy who I worked with in the restaurant business years ago who would finish all of the last remaining pitchers of beer during last call. He was the beer drinkingest mofo I ever knew. Prior to that he lived in Australia for 3 years working for a mining company in the middle on nowhere and he said that's where he learned to drink. He also said that guys who weighed half his weight out drank him every time.

yeah.

But think about metabolism in general. The way your body processes what it intakes. Do you actually think his metabolism is as high as Tye Fields? Like I said......that ****ing beer goes straight to his right bicep. He has muscles the size of Valuev's cranium.

I heard that Andre the Giant could drink an entire keg of beer at one time.

He is bigger than anyone mentioned here though.

550 pounds.

....He and Arnold were out to dinner with a bunch of people and after the meal Arnold sneaks into the kitchen to pay the bill. While he is giving the waiter his credit card he feels himself being lifted up off the ground. Andre picks him up and presses him over his head and insists to the waiter that "the giant" will be paying the tab. The waiter and Arnold both agreed on who would be paying that tab that night.

Good point on Field's muscles and his metabolism. Definitely one of the most muscular boxers around. He's what, a lean 280 lbs? Imagine the amount of food the guy needs to eat every day just to maintain his strength.

I definitely see what you are saying about valuev though. He is naturally bigger than Fields, and has a tremendous amount of natural mass. He does outweigh Tye, and I think might be a deciding factor in this matter. I think we should consult a nutritionist on this issue however.

I should start this exact same thread in the nutrition section, only giving it the title: "Alchoholic Metabolism". Hopefully we can get a response from an expert on this issue, because I am eager to know exactly what constitutes:

being able to "hold liquor". LOL. I am literally guessing.

could a 5'5 150 lb man, with an extremely fast metabolism be able to outdrink a person 6'2 250 with a moderate metabolism?

Someone please answer if the actually know.

Tye Fields Boxrec display (http://boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=015663)

Here is his boxrec display, and accordingly shows the weight at which he fought at in his fights.

he weighed in at 279 for his last fight. I am assuming that is mostly lean mass. Which goes to show, he is a growing giant bastard who works his ass off in the gym. he has to be able to hold liquor, if he were starved of nutrition.

That **** would go to his right bicep muscle.
