lost 6 months ago, and came back swole as ****, and OBLITERATED a top notch fighter... I'm impressed with that. But even more impressive is his words to Brock at the end

"I wish him no ill will. Hes a father, and I hope he gets better. But Brock, get better, so that i can avenge myself. I WILL HURT YOU"

Nasty

Mir still overrated, and Kongo really isn't an impressive win, although the method was impressive, it was still a punch that he threw without even looking.

He'd still lose to Brock and IMO, he'd also lose to Valasquez or maybe even JDS.

Frank is just plain overrated.

Nah that punch was a sweet counter he knew where it was going when he threw it...

Was well impressed with Mir the way he took him out like that
didnt even break a sweat...

That was a timed punch, I wish the fight wuld have lasted longer but Mir is one tough guy.

He will nenver beat Brock because he's too small but he will beat most HW's.

maybe if he keeps lifting and getting stronger, brock will have a problem... i think that if mir were to work on his take down defense, he would easily beat brock in the standup.... after watching the lesner-coture fight, i realize that brock isnt that good.

He's still a loud mouth *******. I hope to see him knocked out again soon.
And I hope he never gets the privilege of fighting Brock again.

Word.

I ****ing hate Mir. I wonder who he'll fight next. Maybe winner of JDS/Yvel or Valasquez/Nog.

Whoever he fights, I hope he loses.

you maybe right but at the same time, we haven't ever seen a 265 frank mir before. and his first showing was pretty impressive. he still might not be as fast or strong as brock, but his added size and strength + skill might give him just enough to defend brock's ground game and beat him with skill.

but really, the jury is still out on this new version of mir so he might still be overrated as you said.

I just hate Mir and the way the UFC markets him. I mean yeah he broke Tim Sylvia's arm, who gives a ****?

He's had the title twice but he's never successfully defended it, not even ****ing once!

But really I think Mir is attacking this whole Brock thing the wrong way.

He trying to beat Brock in terms of Physicality ie (Strength, Size, Speed) but the thing is he's fighting an uphill battle. He will never be able to be do that better than Brock.

Sure he could be bigger and stronger than Brock, but then he'd be slow and poorly conditioned. He could be faster than Brock but then he'd be over powered and under sized.

Mir should be working on his technique, because he's never going to beat Brock when it comes to Size, Strength Speed and overall Athleticism.

You can easily argue that all of Brocks wins have been because of his Athleticism, so why would you want to try to directly attack that?

It doesn't make sense to me.

No saying Brock is going to be as effective when he comes back, one of the illness' he currently has requires you to change your diet to a low fibre one. I'm sure his strength will have taken a hit due to all of this.

Would be good to see him come back to what he was but cannot imagine he will be 100% again for a while.

I'm not a huge MMA guy so take this with a grain of salt, but to me it looks like Mir lost because he lacked the physicality to keep up with Lesnar. Mir has the skills to beat Lesnar he just wasn't in good enough shape to be able to utilize them. I agree if Mir tries to out-muscle Brock he is going to get torn to shreds in a horrible graphic fashion. Perhaps if he adds on some muscle he will be able to level the playing field a bit and utilize his BJJ better. Although I'm not sure how adding muscle messes up your technique in BJJ (If I tried to add even 10lbs and box I would be all out of sync).

not sure how he is overated....

EVERYONE knows hes been beaten, even by smaller guys.
but theres no doubt hes one of the best bjj hws period. maybe one of the best ever.hes showed some improved standup against nog and kongo, but ofc id like to see how good his standup is against a nog in the form he was against randy couture.

i think that frank might actually be nearing his prime, rather than being long past it. as for the bulking up, its not just lesnar hes doing it for. carwin is a beast too.

i understand why people dont like frank, but some of it is YOUR problem, nothing to do with him. egos etc. im not much of a fan either but i rly wudnt be surprised if he becomes the next title holder to defend the belt.
