oldgringo 04-21-2005, 03:40 AM Four pretty intriguing movies are coming out this spring/summer...those movies being Kingdom of Heaven, The Interpreter, Star Wars Episode III, and War of the Worlds. Which movie, of those four, do you think is going to be the best movie? Which are you going to see first (if any)? I rank them:
Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott, a strong cast, and the war epic, period piece pedigree)
Star Wars Episode III (I have to see how they end this ****)
War of the Worlds (Summer blockbuster much...Spielberg and Cruise screams big budget and entertaining)
The Interpreter (Penn and Kidman are both good in their own rights and this looks like a pretty good, fast paced thriller)
So lets hear it...

As far as movie quality goes, "big" summer movies suck ass. You've got to watch a bunch of Wild Wild Wests, Godzillas, and Independence Days, to get to the Bourne Supremacys, Collaterals, and Spiderman 2s.
The Interpreter and Kingdom of Heaven don't look all that good to me, and War of the Worlds will likely be a terrible mess that grosses 250 million plus.

Explosivo 04-21-2005, 10:39 AM I would guess that the best movie would be the Kingdom of Heaven followed by the Interpreter. Im sure Star Wars and War of the Worlds will be entertaining, but as far as story and acting goes, will be far behind these two.

Kingdom of Heaven looks good to me because of Ridley Scott, Jeremy Irons, Edward Norton, and Liam Neeson. Thats a pretty strong core of actors/director...it also has that Bloom dude but he's pretty average IMO. Gladiator was undeniably excellent...

On another note:
Anybody else think Fantastic Four looks like it might just bomb? .... but I'd watch it for Jessica Alba.
Batman Begins looks good.

masterdirector 04-21-2005, 05:14 PM Damn I'm really not looking forward to any of them. I'll probably go watch Star Wars just so I can truthfully say I saw it in the theatre. Saw Eps 1 and 2 in the theatre, realized I don't really care that much about Star Wars, but its just that thing, ya know.
I'll try finding another Miss Congeniality 2 free pass so I can go to Star Wars for free. Hate paying to see something I'm not even that interested in seeing.
