Read this in Boxing News... all I know of Reid is that he "lost" to Sven Ottke* and had a split decision against Calzaghe. So what would happen?
(* he clearly won, it was another classic Ottke decision).

Reid's a good fighter compared to others at 168 and a legit top 5 guy in that class. Apparently he can box but Lacy can be very hard to discourage. If Lacy wins he is definitely without a doubt the 2nd best fighter at 168.

I agree. Reid is a top super middle and Lacy winning would be a decent result. Reid has one of the best chins ever. He is rock solid so i see this going to the scorecards. If Lacy ignores defence he could be beaten. Reid is a puncher but he can not fight going forward. His success comes from a counter punching stance and this is the only way i see him having a chance, Lacy has to go to war to lose!

lacy gets stronger with each round and has endless stamina and maintains his punching power through the whole fight, he will win this fight

I should clarify for those who don't know Reid that he lost the split decision to Calzaghe... my original post gave the wrong impression.

I agree that it will raise Lacy's stock pretty high, but Ring Magazine's 2nd and 3rd ranked super middleweight's are fighting in May, so I'd be hesitant to rank him 2nd unless Calzaghe somehow lost to Veit.

Yeah but Anorak you know that the scoring for that fight was screwed. Like one judge had it close in favour of Calzaghe then the other two favoured each fighters by wide margins, weird.
I haven`t seen much of lacy i`ll admit but Reid is not going to be stopped because he is......if a chin ever was, unstoppable. If Lacy attacks Reid it would be a big mistake. Better to box on the outside. Look what happend to Ottke when he attaced Reid, he got floored and nearly stopped, only cos the ref was biased did he win!
I am rooting for Reid though, i think he has tons of talent!

Good call, Lacy improves with each round, and in the few Reid fights I've seen, he's dynamite until about round 7 or 8 and then he tires out....this might be a matchup of the 2 biggest 168 pounders in history, both guys have enormous shoulders and huge punching power for super middleweights
