Depends on the criteria. I would say Snoop is a Top 10 PERSONALITY in rap.

Skillwise he's average to below average, his delivery is what made him so popular over the G Funk beats, he was like a West Coast Slick Rick

That being said, he has had a lot of good singles, but only two good albums (Doggystyle & Tha Last Meal)

I would place him in the company of say, a Too Short, who has similar mic deficiencies but sounds good on a record and keeps pumping out material.

snoop dogg lyrically really isnt that good. although i should listen to him more before i say that, to be fair.

To this day snoops got just as much swag as anyone else...his presence, delivery, and flow are all still very impressive...probably top 5 to top 10, but i wouldnt argue with anyone that says hes just as good as anyone else in these areas. I agree though about his lyrics...i think they're inconsistent...sometimes kinda ****ty, sometimes good.

i like how you bring up presence. this is somthing many hip hop fans over look. but mic presence is definitley an aspect of being an mc.

Skill wise no. He has one of the best flows on the mic. And he does have a presence about himslef on a track. He's top 5-10 west coast for sure. But all time there are a few that are much better and more consistent.

i dont think hes top 10(right now atleast) because i can find 10 other rappers more deserving of a top 10 spot. but this is an interesting convo.
