View Full Version : Erik Morales Lost!!!! julDilla 11-28-2004, 01:01 AM WOW!! is all i have to say tntkid 11-28-2004, 01:07 AM I knew Barrera would win, I always thought he had Morales number. JaNnO 11-28-2004, 01:08 AM am i the only one around here who thought that he would beat erik? congratulations to mab!!! so much about el terrible - he came short for all those expectations!!! Rick Reeno 11-28-2004, 01:09 AM am i the only one around here who thought that he would beat erik? congratulations to mab!!! so much about el terrible - he came short for all those expectations!!! Not if you read my prediction on the fight. maxpayne 11-28-2004, 01:10 AM definitely worth the money. Erik was way to big. Nautilus 11-28-2004, 01:10 AM Not if you read my prediction on the fight. yep. good prediction. i put a points bet on Barrera too. TheGreat1 11-28-2004, 01:13 AM yep. good prediction. i put a points bet on Barrera too. what was the final scoring? I bet on a draw puppy_dogg 11-28-2004, 01:16 AM WOW!! is all i have to say i hear that, this was a great night of boxing. love it jpboxer3 11-28-2004, 01:16 AM MAB is like Jason,he just wont stay dead, lol. I knew the fight would be close if it went the distance because these two have fought 24rds against each other and I knew it would never be lopsided as people would have thought even after MABs loss to Pacman. El Terrible did his talking before the fight with the Chicken stunt and Barrera made him pay dearly.Gotta love it. P4P,tough luck with Morales.Barrera wins again! :D julDilla 11-28-2004, 01:16 AM what was the final scoring? I bet on a draw you where close but no cigar tntkid 11-28-2004, 01:16 AM I thought Barrera would win by ko, cost me 3 g's! :( Dyl-G 11-28-2004, 01:16 AM HAZHAHAHAHHAHDKASDBVCKDFSBNVNKFDSNV YES BABY YES. that was a good fight. i bet on barrera by the way juss a little phsyced, sorry JaNnO 11-28-2004, 01:17 AM sorry rick, just got back after a short layoff. so busy on my projects this past month! but i commend you for your bold prediction, although it looked like (to many) against all odds. i can imagine how many people lost on their bets tonigh!!! boxingscene rocks! jpboxer3 11-28-2004, 01:20 AM FINALLY! The right guy won tonight."And New Jr.Lightweight Champion of the World Marco Antonio Barrera" That was sweet to hear. :D whdempsey 11-28-2004, 01:20 AM am i the only one around here who thought that he would beat erik? congratulations to mab!!! so much about el terrible - he came short for all those expectations!!! Please. You talk as if this guy is done. He's only like 28, and this is only the second loss of his career. And on top of that, both losses came against the same guy. Furthermore, he probably could have won tonight had he not come in so heavy. Don't plan on writing him off any time soon. TheGreat1 11-28-2004, 01:20 AM you where close but no cigar damn, i knew that Morales couldn't beat MAB, but at this stage of MAB's career i thought he would only be able to pull off a draw, plus the odds where like 16/1 so i jumped on it julDilla 11-28-2004, 01:22 AM FINALLY! The right guy won tonight."And New Jr.Lightweight Champion of the World Marco Antonio Barrera" That was sweet to hear. :D now the question is does manny wanna go up 4 more pounds? whdempsey 11-28-2004, 01:23 AM This was obviously not the best performace of Morales' career. But don't try to pretend that Morales is through now. Cuz that kind of a thought will come back and bite you in the ass. He's still a pound for pounder. dpfinley 11-28-2004, 01:27 AM now the question is does manny wanna go up 4 more pounds? ...And does MAB want to fight Pac after the result of their first fight? I don't see him backing down to Pac though - he's a true champ - but who else is there? JaNnO 11-28-2004, 01:27 AM sorry for the confusion but i was only referring about this fight. el terible is a great fighter and like any great fighter it just takes one convincing win to get back on track. what do you guys think is the best option for morales now? CLubberLang 11-28-2004, 01:28 AM I was not sure if MAB would win and I kind of did not want him to win cause I wanted Manny to destroy Morales like he did MAB. I always thought Morales was overrated from the aspect that I would not buy his PPV's unless he fought someone good and I wouldn't even watch his fights on HBO unless the other fighter was good. To me they hype him up to much and he does not look dominating or devastating in most of his fights. I am glad that MAB won though because now I think it will bring a rematch with Pacman by popular demand. I think JMM vs. Pac will be boring as JMM will be scary and just try to counter and run or hold all night. I still believe Pac will K.O. MAB again but I still think it will be closer than a JMM rematch. The Fix 11-28-2004, 01:30 AM sorry for the confusion but i was only referring about this fight. el terible is a great fighter and like any great fighter it just takes one convincing win to get back on track. what do you guys think is the best option for morales now? maybe a match against the loser of pac-jmm(winner should fight mab) JaNnO 11-28-2004, 01:32 AM ...And does MAB want to fight Pac after the result of their first fight? I don't see him backing down to Pac though - he's a true champ - but who else is there? it depends on whether he decides to stay at 130 or go back to 126 as he indicated earlier. but it looks like he is a force to reckon with at 130 and he proved that tonight. rapidrio 11-28-2004, 01:32 AM definitely worth the money. Erik was way to big. Erik was too big and slow....sucks I hate Barrera! jpboxer3 11-28-2004, 01:33 AM This was obviously not the best performace of Morales' career. But don't try to pretend that Morales is through now. Cuz that kind of a thought will come back and bite you in the ass. He's still a pound for pounder. Morales's status on the p4p List has sunk like the Titanic thanx to MAB bringing his ass down to Earth tonight  dpfinley 11-28-2004, 01:35 AM Winner of Pac/JMM faces MAB sounds good to me... dpfinley 11-28-2004, 01:36 AM Erik was too big and slow....sucks I hate Barrera! Why the hate for Barrera??? TheGreat1 11-28-2004, 01:39 AM "i got 10g on a draw. 115-113 113-115 114-114 Barrera will fight his heart out but it will not be enough, he can only pull out a draw at this stage of his career" Damn this is what i posted on the fantasy betting thread. i just saw the scores 114-114 115-114 115-113 i didn't see the fight, was it really this close. i wanted to order it but the undercard sucked IMO paulmmv 11-28-2004, 01:41 AM i dont belive this i hade all my money on morales JaNnO 11-28-2004, 01:42 AM I was not sure if MAB would win and I kind of did not want him to win cause I wanted Manny to destroy Morales like he did MAB. I always thought Morales was overrated from the aspect that I would not buy his PPV's unless he fought someone good and I wouldn't even watch his fights on HBO unless the other fighter was good. I think JMM vs. Pac will be boring as JMM will be scary and just try to counter and run or hold all night. I still believe Pac will K.O. MAB again but I still think it will be closer than a JMM rematch. i don't like morales for disrespecting mab and those bull****s that he has said about him. i've always thought that mab can beat erik and that he even won the first fight by a slim margin. i do believe that pacman has mab's number and will win the rematch by either ko or tko. i also see pacman beating jmm in the rematch and that it won't go to the distance like what happened in may. i just hope that pac-mab 2 will push through this year!!! jpboxer3 11-28-2004, 01:43 AM It was all MAB 5 outta the first 6 Rounds.Than Morales came on down the stretch.I had MAB winning by 2RDs.Finally the judges got it right for once :D MlLkMan 11-28-2004, 01:43 AM am i the only one around here who thought that he would beat erik? congratulations to mab!!! so much about el terrible - he came short for all those expectations!!! I was rooting for barrera too, barrera had morales when he threw the uppercut that broke morales nose. jujitsujn 11-28-2004, 01:45 AM I picked MAB by descion. Also bet on it. after hearing what that little ***** Morales did after the fight, I wish MAB would have knocked the **** out of him. MlLkMan 11-28-2004, 01:47 AM Yea Morales threw a water bottle at barrera's dad. JaNnO 11-28-2004, 01:52 AM "i got 10g on a draw. 115-113 113-115 114-114 Barrera will fight his heart out but it will not be enough, he can only pull out a draw at this stage of his career" Damn this is what i posted on the fantasy betting thread. i just saw the scores 114-114 115-114 115-113 i didn't see the fight, was it really this close. i wanted to order it but the undercard sucked IMO yeah, i'm also happy that the loudmouth and dirty nedal hussein lost to chololo larios. he and his team always used the "in his own backyard" excuse to discredit pacman. the fact is -- he was behind in all scorecards because manny beat him bad. he even resorted to headbutts and low blows out of desparation. now the world knows who the better fighter is. jujitsujn 11-28-2004, 01:53 AM What a little baby. He needs to grow up. Maybe he started training with Judahs camp. JaNnO 11-28-2004, 01:57 AM I was rooting for barrera too, barrera had morales when he threw the uppercut that broke morales nose. i was expecting morales to be the quicker fighter tonight, but then again he was at 143. was the fight more of a brawl or a boxing match? JaNnO 11-28-2004, 02:00 AM What a little baby. He needs to grow up. Maybe he started training with Judahs camp. he prolly totally dismissed mab and thought that no way mab will win against him. that's what he got for looking ahead of this fight. there's no doubt that his loss derailed his mega-buck fight with the winner of pac-jmm rematch! julDilla 11-28-2004, 02:12 AM this just makes complications on who should they be fighting Morales Barrera Marquez Manny  JaNnO 11-28-2004, 02:23 AM this just makes complications on who should they be fighting Morales Barrera Marquez Manny  Winner of PAC-JMM vs. MAB (at 126) Loser of PAC-JMM vs Morales (at 126) I just hope PAC-MAB 2 happens. Nobody wanna watch JMM on a PPV main header. MlLkMan 11-28-2004, 02:24 AM i was expecting morales to be the quicker fighter tonight, but then again he was at 143. was the fight more of a brawl or a boxing match? It was both in the early rounds then brawl in the late rounds. MAB was really. tired in the late rounds. FistoftheDallasStar 11-28-2004, 02:53 AM Winner of PAC-JMM vs. MAB (at 126) Loser of PAC-JMM vs Morales (at 126) I just hope PAC-MAB 2 happens. Nobody wanna watch JMM on a PPV main header. That's exactly the best possible match up at this point, I agree.. olympic boy 11-28-2004, 02:54 AM em & mab are perfect targets for the pacman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D julDilla 11-28-2004, 03:06 AM em & mab are perfect targets for the pacman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D i have to disagree with you  abdiel2k3 11-28-2004, 03:07 AM i have to disagree with you  moi aussi The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters. julDilla 11-28-2004, 03:44 AM terrible still one of the best ppound 4 pound just had a bad night JOM'S 11-28-2004, 04:36 AM Winner of PAC-JMM vs. MAB (at 126) Loser of PAC-JMM vs Morales (at 126) I just hope PAC-MAB 2 happens. Nobody wanna watch JMM on a PPV main header. this is a good schedule and hope that this will happen, but somewhere after that I love to see PAC-EM fight... with that performance and two convincing wins by MAB, I am sure he is back in 4p4 list, no way he should not be included in this list, beating the main man of the small guys P4P... but at what number would he be in, any ideas???? drag0n_ 11-28-2004, 06:01 AM Barrera for me is at #4 or #5 P4P. I really hope MAB goes for PacMan next! psychopath 11-28-2004, 06:49 AM Barrera for me is at #4 or #5 P4P. I really hope MAB goes for PacMan next! There could be no better time for that but now. It should be MAB's next fight. Pac/Jmm ON Feb? Screw Arum after all the lies and bull****s . . . it's payback time . . . I'm sure Arum is in a haste to pit JMM or Morales against Pac :D after DHL bolted his outfit and Morales' lost today   strictlydope 11-28-2004, 07:04 AM crazy fight 2nite, didnt thikn morales would loose and like so many others didnt give barerra much of a chance, its gonna be interesting to see if there will be a barerra-pacman rematch and where does morales go from here !! Anorak 11-28-2004, 07:27 AM What were the odds on Barrera? wissy 11-28-2004, 08:21 AM Down here in Australia is was 3-1 and 15-2 for a mab decision. Australian bookies give very low odds on favourites and high on underdogs. PacKillsMorales 11-28-2004, 08:43 AM we knew someone would win this fight so neither fighter should be labelled as shot. morales will bounce back and barreras right back in the mix and should end his career with some more big fights. maybe we could have barrera - morales 4 and if morales wins 5 too :D if pac does fight jmm lets all hope he wins because jmm is gonna make all his big fights very boring DR. FREECLOUD 11-28-2004, 09:12 AM i told you guys. thats all i have to say. fist-of-fury 11-28-2004, 09:13 AM Yeah, I too hope Pac-man wins over JMM. Barrerra-Pacman II will be the most explosive fight of all time!!!!! DR. FREECLOUD 11-28-2004, 09:23 AM i think that both of these guys have changed as fighters since they last met. what kills me is how everyone discredits barrera after pac-man dismantled him. i bet this fight is going to suprise alot of people. mab is only 2 years older than erik. 30 years is not that old. what makes him older is the amount of that time spent in the ring. half of his life as a pro! morales is no newbie himself. he's going on 12 years pro. so really i don't see where, in any of the aspects, mab is really that much older that it makes a difference. Yeah, I too hope Pac-man wins over JMM. Barrerra-Pacman II will be the most explosive fight of all time!!!!! i would rather see a pac-mab rematch after the jmm-pac fight too. one thing you have to remember about mab is that he doesn't care who his mandatories are. he fights who he wants even if it means giving up belts. i think jmm will beat the pac-man. to me it doesn't really matter actually.....they are all goin to be very exciting fights. everyone is going to base thier opinion of jmm on his last outing. thats b.s. jmm can be axciting. just look at the jmm-pac fight. you people on this site crack me up pretending to know soo much about all these guys. to all the mab haters out there all i have to say is i told you so. PBDS 11-28-2004, 09:34 AM yep. good prediction. i put a points bet on Barrera too. ....I came close to betting everything I have on Barrera in a gamble and didn't do it. I wish I would have now. amaru 11-28-2004, 09:35 AM why are so many people on here surprised that erik lost and barrera beat him??? i said from the begininng that barrera would win a close decision and he did, morales is still a top fighter, he just isnt better than barrera. jack_the_rippuh 11-28-2004, 09:44 AM Pound for Pound rankings anyone? MetalVomit 11-28-2004, 09:59 AM terrible still one of the best ppound 4 pound just had a bad night I agree that Morales is still awesome, i hate when people just give up on a guy after 1 loss. I dont think he had a bad night, Barrera GAVE him a bad night. fist-of-fury 11-28-2004, 11:25 AM MAB has defied all logic! Most people has dismissed him as a "has-been", especially after that devastating loss to Pac-man. But he proved them all wrong. He's back! That's good news to us boxing nuts out there and to the boxing sport in general. Now we have MAB-Pacman II to look forward to! This division is getting more and more exciting and thrilling! julDilla 11-28-2004, 05:52 PM hes going to slaughter pacman i have a feeling that pac is barely gonna make the weight for superfeather olympic boy 12-02-2004, 01:38 AM terrible still one of the best ppound 4 pound just had a bad night hey bro.....i've heard that from mab before!!!!!!!!! :D phallus 12-02-2004, 01:46 AM Morales did have a bad night against MAB, i don't even think it was the weight. in all the clips i've seen of the fight( haven't seen the full deal yet, will be watching it this sat ) Morales looks like he's lunging in at Barrera and not using his height effectively. Morales is jumping into range of Barrera when MAB already has his feet planted and is ready 2 punch, and unloads a combination onto an off balance Morales. Swifty 12-02-2004, 02:22 AM Man I'm happy about MAB beating El Terrible. But respect to both fighters. It's rare we see fights like that these days. realtim 12-02-2004, 08:39 AM it was a great fight fought with intensity. MAB has his number big time. aaalex 12-02-2004, 06:20 PM Erik Morales kept very adequately... VPDJ 12-02-2004, 07:57 PM I consider MAB as the better fighter between the two even before the fight. nadz 12-02-2004, 08:10 PM I consider MAB as the better fighter between the two even before the fight. I think i don't agree that, but i think MAB is in good condition and determination... abdiel2k3 12-02-2004, 08:30 PM hes going to slaughter pacman i have a feeling that pac is barely gonna make the weight for superfeather dat what i was thinkin but then someone pointed out how the day of pac-mab manford was about 130ish |
