View Full Version : No one appreciates BNB for real?
Squabbles94806 12-03-2009, 02:43 PM Am i the only one who actually appreciates this stuff? Whether it's in modern times or in history, BNB has a heavy hand (no pun intended) in the development of modern boxing.
Technical wise, it's a slower fight, but much more brutal. Boxing with your bare hands is no joke. The rules are different as well. Basically, they box until one of them can't continue. A knockdown signifies the end of a round, but there's no set rounds. It goes until they're done. There's a timekeeper, but i think that's just out of formality.
It's funny, BNB is pretty brutal. Yet, there aren't that many one hitter quitters they way you'd see them in MMA. Strange isn't?
Bare Knuckle Boxers or "Pikeys" are tough ass mother fcukers. I'd rather settle ***** like that on the streets. BNB is the best way the separate the real from the fake. Id fcuk wit BNB. There's hella footage on Youtube of this stuff.
right_hand_lead 12-03-2009, 04:56 PM I'm not sure why anyone would want to do this unless it was in self-defense or if someone pissed you off.
If you like fighting, go into an actual sport. Not sure it's worth seriously damaging yourself for fun.

Not for sport, but as a serious grudge match.
zoneman99 12-04-2009, 05:16 PM That's one way to get hurt very badly. I would seriously not recommend it.
ABOSWORTH 12-04-2009, 05:30 PM A lot of the time, those fights get stopped because guys break the **** out of there hands and not because they've knocked someone out.
Squabbles94806 12-28-2009, 03:00 PM You know, i had or have uncles who box bare knucke in the market place back in the P.I. At least, that's what my pops tells me.

The pain of landing a punch on the forehead of someones skull when you misfire a punch is enough to prevent me and I'd assume most other boxers from wanting to box without gloves unless truly forced. Those old time bare knuckle boxers were a diffrent breed.

No they weren't, that was just their only option when it came to boxing-related activities, if that was my only option today you can bet I'd be out there fighting with bare knuckles. But if gloves were never invented, boxing would never have been accepted legally, so it's a good thing they became used.

True. I guess. With the "New Age" phenomenon, everything is outdated these days; except the iPhone and the Net of course. The world will probably end without those two. I wouldn't even know what to do without the internet or an iPhone. (i don't have one of course, but *****, my life is much better knowing there's an iPhone out there. Jesus has returned, and he came back in the form of an iPhone)
For sport, BNB isn't the way to go. However, if you wanted to settle some serious beef on the street, BNB is the only way to go. But like you said, hands break easily and it hurts when you punch someone in the face and head. God forbid a guy might break a nail during a fight. LoL. Seems to me a vast majority of people would back down from a BNB match if challenged, i wouldn't. But i'm sure a lot of you would watch one though. I dunno, i'm not from the suburbs, so i wouldn't know what it's like to be *****.
Yeah, i guess people should just stick to shooting each other; that's much tougher anyways than fighting until someone stops. I think BNB is the epitome of a street fight. In fact, people like to grab and hug in street fights anyways. That MMA ***** is damn near bare knuckle, and they still can't get the job done.
Absolutely right..."Those old time bare knuckle boxers were a different breed"

Word em up...there's a real man.
Marcov 12-28-2009, 05:55 PM I think it hurts more to hit someone bare knuckled than to be hit. I broke hand bones in my youth but never broke a bone getting hit.
I think it is not the best way to settle disputes. If it has to be done meet at the gym and get some time in the ring together. But hopefully better minds would prevail.

Well, naturally of course. Meeting at a gym might be out of the way? Unless if was someone you knew obviously. But i'm talkin about a good old fashion bare knuckle boxing street fight.
It's better to go to the body anyways. That solves the hands hurting problem.
gingeralbino 12-29-2009, 10:11 AM gypsy bare knuckle boxing is still relativley common in ireland. Those cunts are not to be ****ed with. (its not bare knuckle though, they have wraps on, just no gloves so the fighters dont break their hands easily and the fight can continue until there is a winner)

Yeah, i know. They're crazy. I guess because it's "New Age", they have to change with the times. Some fighters wrap one hand, others wear tape, or canvas gloves. I think it depends on what they fighters agree apoun, cus if you're gonna wrap both fists, you might as well put on gloves.
