View Full Version : Ring 2
tracylee 04-16-2005, 01:09 PM Well, I finally got to see Ring 2, and it was 'okay', I suppose...a little better than the first one. Still much wanted (to see) "Cursed", "Amityville" (damn, I know I'm leaving some out!!!) and that "House of Wax" might be worth the matinee fee...maybe (never been big on those kinds of movies, or zombie flicks either!)
anyway, whoever told me about "From Dusk til Dawn 3 Hangmans Daughter"..well, I finally saw that too and it's sad (bad)
Anybody else see Ring 2 yet?
OH, forgot...that "Boogeyman" aint so hot either! :(
BrooklynBomber 04-16-2005, 01:18 PM I saw it. And I did not like it. the movie is not scary anymore now when you know whats going on. C'mon my nighboor in campus looks scarier than that girl. And whats up with that stoopid kid.
he acted like a moron. Scared people act much differently from people from this movies.
I would give it D+, and I am generous.
Boxerdog 04-16-2005, 01:21 PM All of those are "wait till they're at the video store" fliks and several can sit till they are on the $1.00 rack.
I love horror movies but the really good ones are few and far between.

I know..the had the chance to do something good with it, and they blew it. Like I said, it was marginally better than the first, and I'M being generous too!

Sad but true B-dog...even the Grudge had it's weak spots. Horror is just about all I watch though....so I cant afford to be real picky! Good ole vampire flicks will always be my favorite ;)
"I vant to suck your blooooooddddd"...I still remember the old black and white flicks with Christopher Lee, etc.
oldgringo 04-16-2005, 02:21 PM I want to see Amityville Horror. I don't know about Ring 2 but I only thought that the first one was decent. I saw The Grudge and thought it sucked. There was one part that freaked me out and thats when the little Asian boy started meowing like a madman.
Last horror/suspense movie I liked that I saw was in fact the movie "Saw". It had a good plot twist and disturbing images, despite the shotty acting in certain parts.
Boxerdog 04-16-2005, 03:12 PM The last pleasant surprise for me was "Mothman Prophesies". It was a lot better than I had hoped. Damned creepy!

" I vant to suck... your bloooooodddd ". everybody that's into horror should watch Ed Wood, it's not a horror movie but it's a great film and it's got lots of **** in it about the great Bela Lugosi - i used to watch his vampire movies on tv when i was a kid.

Damn...Bela, Bela, thats who I meant (NOT Lee!! :o )..he was cool then. I heard that he was a morphine addict, and would not act without it (could just be rumor though)

I agree on both counts...Exorcist was only even half decent the last 10 min's or so; and Saw was pretty damn good with some killer twists! Totally different from the usual horror

The Irony with Bela Lugosi was that... Although as Dracula, he drank blood, in real life he would faint at the sight of blood.

That is irony! He was the man back then in the horror flicks..good ole black and white!
Prostitroop 04-16-2005, 10:00 PM That is irony! He was the man back then in the horror flicks..good ole black and white!Yeah, he was the man!!!... Anyone else have that old Bauhaus song "Bela Lugosi's Dead" in their heads?

Very cool..thanks for the link; I'll check into that ;)
wow, that was interesting! So, that about being addicted to morphine wasnt just rumor :( ...I think it's weird that as much as he hated being known as "Dracula" he was buried in the cape, etc. from the movie  It would seem to me that would be the last thing he would want..

i have that song, as well as all Bauhaus greatest hits on an old old tape somwhere...and Bela Lugosi was a heroin addict, he was the first celebrity ever to go into rehab. i love the part in the movie where he goes to have a " nap " in Ed Wood's car and shoots himself up full of H and then comes out to find Ed and says " Allright .Let's shoot this ****er!"
Also Vampira rules, i could listen to that sarcastic voice all day :boobies:
" Bela Lugosi's dead....UNdead....Undead " at least i think that's how the song goes

TheFairPole 04-18-2005, 01:16 PM DO NOT GO SEE THE AMITYVILLE HORROR!!! It is the worst horror movie since House of the Dead! I just saw it on Saturday and I honestly wanted my money back! It wasn't scary at all! They ****ing ruined the Amityville franchise. If you feel you must see it then atleast wait for it to come on DVD. If you do go see it, don't say that you weren't warned!
Crouching Tiger 04-18-2005, 01:25 PM The Ring 1 was one of the creepiest movie I've ever seen. Ring 2 somehow lost the suspense so it's not that scary anymore. Amityville The Remake is gory (like Ghost Ship), not really a horror, film. The original was a classic. I suppose that's the problem with sequels or remakes. They seldom surpass the originals because the audience expects more.

Yeah, it really sucks cause I was looking forward to seeing this movie for a while. What a let down. Most horror movies are a letdown though, aren't they? Oh well, The next couple of horror movies to look forward to are Land of the Dead, and Undead. They are both Zombie movies. Land is the 4th movie from George Romero who made Night of the Living Dead, Day and Dawn of the dead. That comes out June 24 I believe and the Undead comes out July 1st.

Yeah, I pretty much hate zombie movies. Looks like they've redone that "House of Wax"...it will probably blow too :(
