If your trying to loose weight just run 4 days a week and box 2.... Also is that the amount of cals your eating? eat less.

take 1 day off of boxing, make it 3 days of each thing, but up the activity level of those days to compensate
eventually, try doing 2 miles everyday
doomer36 12-02-2009, 11:32 AM Kind of tricky to answer as everyones body is different, but I think 7 days a week is a little to much for most. Apart from the obvious issue of getting more injuries, the body needs rest and time to recover and by not taking even 1 day out you may overtrain and the effects of that can be really rubbish..
Also, no weight training invloved?? If your looking to drop fat id definitely include some in your week
True Guru 12-02-2009, 12:55 PM 40 mins of cardio 4 times a week and weight training 3 days a week.
- v e t - 12-02-2009, 12:56 PM no... rest is as important, if not more, than working out/training...
rskumm21 12-02-2009, 01:26 PM When I'm healthy I really try to train every single day of the week, even on my off day from the gym I'll run. Though with work and just life in general, it is really difficult to do this week in and week out. I say, if your body can handle it, you're feeling good, and you have the proper nutrition, go for it.
mrboxer 12-02-2009, 01:28 PM you think i am going to train everyday no way man,i am not getting paid, you think i am going to box,jog and do strenuous weightlifting activities no way,i am not getting hefty paydays,no way i train one day then i take four days off,i train again then four off,i am not getting paid one dime to work out and there is no way i am training more than once a week:poke:
GroundSt.Pound 12-02-2009, 07:58 PM You can definitely train everyday, but to do this you REALLY need to get A LOT of sleep and eat very healthy. I'm talking about clean foods and around 10-12 hours of sleep per day, maybe even some naps during the day as well.
But most people don't have that kind of time to dedicate to eating right and getting enough sleep so I recommend at at least 2 days off.
F A R L A P 12-02-2009, 09:58 PM how much do you tain now?
you should build up to it. i.e if you currently train 3 days a week and jump straight to 7 you'll probably burn out/ injury.
apart from that i agree with everyone else; 6/7 days training is more common and throw in a weight's session or two.

I'm trying to lose weight too, but I run 3 miles every other day. However, I stress strength training to try to peak my metabolism. A lot of people go against my method, but I believe lifting heavy weights accelerates fat loss.
I need to lose weight for job reasons, because I have weigh-in for work but I'm over the limit by like 12 lbs

Why do you reccomend so much sleep, and even naps?
GroundSt.Pound 12-02-2009, 10:35 PM Why do you reccomend so much sleep, and even naps?
Because that's when your body heals, recovers and releases vital hormones. You break down in the gym, you recover and heal in the kitchen and when you sleep.
If you are training 7 days a week you need a lot of rest and proper nutrition.
Fighters and Athletes takes "power naps" all the time when they train
