I've always disliked De La Hoya, but I'd absolutely love to see him fight Judah or Tszyu...and I think that despite his weight fluctuation and relative inactivity, he'd be able to win both fights if he really trained his ass off. Hell, Tszyu has been a lot more inactive, though at no fault of his own; and Zab's chin, well...

Great potential fights for DLH...

SHOCKING!!!... LOL!...

How Shane Mosley can be regarded as the No.1 Welterweight is just... Urrrggghhh!...

He's lost something like 4 of his last 5 fights, (and I reckon he lost the rematch with Oscar De La Hoya too) + He's not fought at welterweight in YEARS...

Ohh... But he does generate money!... LOL!... It's unfortunate that us boxing fans have to put up with this corruption, but more frustrating that we can do nothing about it!

Yeah, that explains his ranking. But point being, if/when he does return who will he immediately replace in the top spots?

he didnt retire did he?

I highly doubt it. I am more than sure he is just taking time off, to contemplate his devistating first loss, as well as the robbery in the second Mayorga fight which he won.

since we talking about him i just found this

Vernon Forrest is still out of action and has been for nearly two years since losing a majority decision to Ricardo Mayorga for the welterweight championship. The acclaim that Forrest received after twice out-pointing Shane Mosley was staggering. He was supposed to be a long reigning juggernaut at 147. How many people predicted that he would not even be able to record one more defense of his title after his wins over Mosley? There is still time for the 34 year old Forrest if he hurries up and gets back in the ring. Vernon had extraordinary skills and all of the hype he received was not entirely unjustified; he was simply caught by surprise. "The Viper" needs to recover from whatever injury he is ailing from this month and schedule a bout already; for his benefit. If he never returns to the ring it would not be a tragedy. I certainly would not lose sleep over it. Forrest would definitely not fall under the categories of exciting or action fighter. His style was strictly for the boxing purists.

figured.

So essentially, there is a high probability that he will end up returning to the ring. By the looks of that paragraph, this means that he would definitely be ranked higher than most of the others in the top 10 or even top 5 spot. Rightly so, because I would rank him as the #1 welterweight, behind Zab Judah, who inherited his once earned titles:

Is that right? Were the title's that he lost to Mayo, who in turn lost to Spinks, who in turn lost to Judah rightfully his?

and if so, is that deserving of a the top spot? C what I am getting at?

This sh*t just doesn't shock me anymore. Boxing is so corrupt and will stay that way unless they go to formula based rankings or someone makes the championship belt based on playoffs like in football or unless boxers form a union and get rid of promoters there will always be this problem.
