View Full Version : Anthony Johnson got exposed.
Spray_resistant 11-26-2009, 08:25 AM I just saw some vids from 106 and yeah Anthony Johnson got exposed as a hypejob not ready for the world class MMA scene.....great win by Koscheck.....I think Johnson gased out too towards the end probably because of the 35lb cut it looks like he makes to get to 170. Josh's wrestling was too much to handle for him and he couldn't miss Johnson with that overhand right.
GroundSt.Pound 11-26-2009, 02:04 PM I agree. I had been saying that Johnson is too robotic and stiff and that Koscheck was going to win, but nobody listened.
Koscheck even got the better of some of the stand-up exchanges.
But overall, that fight was a cluster****. So many fouls ruined it.
firstborn 11-26-2009, 04:59 PM I thought he looked pretty good until Koscheck poked him in the eye.
kswizzy99 11-26-2009, 05:02 PM I think if he sticks to boxing and defending takedowns instead of trying to kick(most pathetic kicks I've ever seen anyone throw ever), he would do really well IMO.
but other than that, I think he just gassed from draining so much weight. rumor is that he fainted right before the weigh-ins. if that is true, he would be better off in the MW division for his own health.
-Boxzilla- 11-26-2009, 05:43 PM i think he got exposed for being way too green for a good vetran of 18 fight like josh ... they moved him too quick and he got beaten up pretty bad. his stand up is looks too open and wild and he was a sucker for koschecks right ... the dood needs more training and ring experience ... josh should fight that brit hardy, i wouldnt be surprised if that dood gets exposed too. but hardy's stand up looks way better then johnson's does imo
Stalaggh 11-27-2009, 12:05 AM He seemed fine IMO, even rocked Koscheck before the knee but those two eyes pokes especially the second one ****ed him up.
Kos thinks hes a striker now, got rocked and reverted back to his REAL talent, wrestling and GNP
tocayito1 11-27-2009, 12:26 AM i think if the fight stayed on the feet johnson could have gotten the ko...he really needs to work on his ground game and stamina i think cutting from 220 hurts him really bad.....i was impressed with kos i though that if some one gave him their neck and let him squeeze that he still couoldnt submit them lol

wtf? I knew he had weight issues, but not that much. has he really gotten that high in weight?

yea he said he walks around at 220 hes not super cut up tho but still it has to suck

well, a guy who cuts that much weight and does it VERY painfully only tells me one thing, he is scared to fight in the LHW and MW divisions. losing to koshcheck because of weight issues was quite the irony.
tocayito1 11-27-2009, 03:12 AM i dont think hes scared i think he figures that if he can make weight than he can fight smaller guys....he will still get wrecked at 185
THe TRiNiTY 11-27-2009, 04:06 AM I pretty much hate Josh. I was hoping Johnson got the job done, but I do realize that Koshcheck is incredible on the ground. Four time All American. However, I think had the fight been a clean one, Johnson had a much bigger chance. Josh even wined about a foul he made up..... Dickhead.

Johnson's striking looked very sloppy to me regardless of the fouling that ruined the fight and his wrestling is nowhere near where it needs to be to compete on a world class level.....also he was like 20lbs heavier than Koscheck and lost by submission to him. To me that was exposure when they were trying to make him out to be some monster who could be serious comp for GSP.
