View Full Version : The most boring fight of the century.
!! Mr. Soprano 04-12-2005, 12:40 PM Those Ruiz threads and the new Jirov thread made me think of the two fighting.
JIROV Vs. RUIZ! Can you imagine the nightmare?
They do kind of have similar leg and body movements, don't they?
enadeus 04-12-2005, 12:43 PM They would have to remove all the seats in MSG and replace them with beds for this fight to happen. Maybe kick in some massage theropy and it might just sell out.
JIROV Vs. RUIZ!
Yes. That would be hell on earth. So would:
Oquendo V.S. Mcline
Fres' next fight against Moorer will be a dirty clinchfest also. IMO he is as, or more boring than Johnny is.
Martin (Top Knowledge) 04-12-2005, 12:52 PM I think I have to agree with most people on this site...
Pick any Ruiz fight, and you're on the right path... LOL!...
I watched him again the other day (on a download), and he just ducks, lundges foward with boths arms wide open and wraps his arms around the other fighter... Then holds, holds, and ....... HOLDS some more!
BORING!...
abdiel2k3 04-12-2005, 12:57 PM altho jirov and ruiz have similar spastic rythm movement
id hardly say jirov is boring
especially comparen him the the uncomphrehable boring ass ruiz
SnoopySmurf 04-12-2005, 01:02 PM Jirov actually boxes.
Martin (Top Knowledge) 04-12-2005, 01:09 PM I know there's a lot of American members on this site, (so this might not go down to well :biggthump )... But I reckon Bernard Hopkins has gotta fall into this catagory?
The Troll 04-12-2005, 01:11 PM Jirov is an exciting fighter but everybody is boring against Ruiz.
The worst I have ever seen was Ruiz vs Oquendo.
the most borin match would b henry akinwande v john ruiz
hug hug hug hug hug hug break it up .......hug hug hug hug hug

Ohh, that reminds me!!!...
THE MOST BORING FIGHT OF THE CENTURY MUST GO TOO: Lennox Lewis vs Henry Akinwande!
Akinwande turned up not wanting to fight!... He hugged Lewis for 3-4 rounds and eventually got disqualified for holding!
Worst thing was... Akinwande looked like he was happy with the decsion!
Bit of a w**ker really... Those fans paid their hard earned money to watch a heavyweight title fight, and Akinwande didn't want to fight!

i use to like watching hopkins 10 years ago, not anymore
masterdirector 04-12-2005, 03:13 PM Oquendo isn't that bad. I like him, sort of. Knew better than to try watching Big O vs. Ruiz.
Oquendo was easily beating Tua until he got caught. Had he kept staying away and using that height, he'd have won easily.
Ruiz vs. Michael Moorer or that guy Wlad is fighting would be rough.
Any fight in which "The Quiet Man" Ruiz fights in, is going to end up being an ugly, and boring fight!! It doesn't matter who he fights or how good the opposition is, he will make it a boring fight. He is just naturally boring, the way Charlie Brown is naturally a born loser!!

.
Baio. Why in the hell do you think Castillo is a boring fighter, and then say Oquendo is "not that bad". I just dont understand. Castillo is a walking fireworks show, and Oquendo is a boxing librarian.
Those Ruiz threads and the new Jirov thread made me think of the two fighting.

that fight can cure insomnia for millions of people
masterdirector 04-12-2005, 04:23 PM I liked O b/c I've liked the matches I've seen him in. He outboxed Byrd (yes, he did), almost beat Tua, beat the hell out of Etienne. He's not super great or anything, but I like him compared to some others. He's a decent boxer. Squints too much. Maybe if he opened his eyes he'd do better. He'll easily beat Moorer, easily.
jack_the_rippuh 04-12-2005, 05:17 PM Oquendo was easily beating Tua until he got caught. Had he kept staying away and using that height, he'd have won easily.
Everybody who got knocked out by Tua is the same story...they were winning before they got caught.

GROCERYGETTERS 04-12-2005, 06:37 PM Ruiz actually was in an awesome fight.. the one where he got KTFO by David Tua. Haha.. and I actually enjoyed watching him get outboxed by Jones. Hopefully Toney will make this one entertaining..
