Yes, and Calzaghe is fighting Veit again, after both presumably win, it is possible they fight in November, though I still think highly unlikely.

This is a fight that I would like to see. I don't think it's a good fight for Lacy to take though.

With talk of Lacy surposedly fighting Bernard Hopkins etc, If he fights Calazaghe there's a very good chance that he'll come away with an L-1 next to his name that will damage his marketability.

Then again, if you wanna be the best, you gotta beat the best!

Yeah... I don't reckon Lacy is all that either.

Who was he fighting in his last fight?... I remember seeing that, and although he won it, it was only by 115-113 or something? And it was someone that Calzaghe had beaten easily?

Help me guy's... I can't be bothered to search the net for the info... LOL!...

vanderpool i think martin and was getting a beating for 6 rounds.

turned it around though credit where it is due, I just thyink lacy'ds style is made for hard hitting counterpuncher Reid.

Reid has some power in that big right first time lacy tastes it i dont know he will handle it that well.

only thing against Robin is the workrate, Lacy the tyounger man will out work him but its whether Robin can nullify that and lands his own bombs.

Lacy wouldnt live with calzaghe lets get that straight off.

unfortunately calzaghe is so devoid of ambition he wont fight him.

Joe Calzaghe has backed himself to repeat his first-round stoppage of Mario Veit by betting £10,000?

LOL!...

I dont think Calzaghe/Lacy is on the cards anymore.

What happened to Andrade?? This is another of Reid's big chances. History doesn't favour him in those, but I just cant see Reid losing to Lacy.

I think Lacy is a bit overestimated, really. He's got decent power, but nothing earth-shattering. His real asset is his work rate. Superb work rate. Williams was a good opponent for him because he's a great boxer, and doesn't have huge power, and it allowed Lacy to get some rounds in against a really slick defensive fighter who can put together some beautiful combos. And I think if Williams had a bit more power, Lacy would've been in deep **** on more than one occaision.

Ried could very well beat Lacy. He's got a chin, I think (Has he ever been down? Anyone know?), and decent defensively, as well as having some skill and a little power. If Lacy can't outwork Ried, I don't think he can beat him, because I just don't think he can KO Robin.
As for a Lacy/Calzaghe matchup....I don't think Lacy has much of a chance of winning, really. If he tries trading with Joe, he'll lose. If he tries outboxing Joe, he'll lose. About his only chance, as far as I can see, would be to take Joe into deep water (past 10) and hope he has enough gas left in his tank to land a big combo and win by KO or TKO. People can say whatever they want about Calzaghe ducking this or that guy, or only fighting Euro champs to keep his title, blah, blah, blah, ad-nauseum ...... the guy's a great fighter, with loads of skill, experience, and a big-ass right hand. I just can't see Lacy beating him at this point in Jeff's career. Truth be told, I expect Calzaghe to be retired before Lacy has the skill and experience to actually beat him.

I'd love to see Lacy and Calzaghe.

I think Lacy has the punching power to KO calzaghe within 7 rounds,Calzaghe is a good fighter, but come on, he needs lacy as much as lacy needs him

Calzghe is past his prime and lacy gets stronger as the fight goes on, joe may win the first few rounds, but when he realizes lacy will never tire he will wilt under the pressure and be tko'd

I don't think Calzaghe would allow the fight to go late, to be honest. And even if he would, I doubt Lacy would. One or the other (or both) will keep pressure going. I believe it would end in a KO before 6, winner Calzaghe.

Probably not seen Lacy much either, i've seen plenty of both and i know Calzaghe has the superior stamina.
