When will you people learn?? Mike Tyson is DEAD. He died around 1997. He became a shell of himself after going to prison. Some may argue he came back and won the Hw title! Did he really? Against whom? Frank Bruno? And he beat Buster Mathis Jr and Peter McNeely along the way? Yet, for some reason he is still immortal to so many buffoons who see him fighting for the title again and finally beating Holyfield ( who is an entire different story ). I mean, the HW picture is nothing to get excited about. I'll give you that. But Mike Tyson is NOT coming back to save you from it!!

I was kind of hoping the Tyson hype would have died when Lewis sealed the deal and showed he shouldnt really be fighting.....But then he had to go knock that bum Cliff out and everyone said Mike is back....Why? Because he beat a guy who holds a win over one of the many heavyweight champs at the moment...*ouch*....Then he has 1 impressive round against a 6'4 bum who held on and a clash of knees...So he gets another chance? It's cool to pay Tyson respect (ha tyson and respect in the same sentence) but to say he will ever be a threat or even a top contender would be crazy and I predict Mcbride will beat the living **** out of Tyson as well...Tyson couldnt hit **** against a tall lewis, now Lewis and Mcbride are not even in the same league but 6'6 Mcbride will hold onto Tyson for the first half and press his weight, we know Tyson wont show much lateral or foot movement to avoid that......Infact out of all of the current crop of champions, I wouldnt favor them against Tyson as well right now.

Byrd would stay on the outside and jab Tyson to death

Ruiz would be the easiest for Tyson but his holding would tire or frustrate Tyson and eventually wear him out

Lamon would stand their for 4-5 rounds and take everything Tyson had and then come back in the late rounds

Klitschko would hold and press his weight against him and back up in a robotic fashion leaving Tyson throwing uppercut in the air and would bob and land double uppercuts of his own like he did on Williams.

I wouldnt even favor Tyson over Golota.

Tito still has a chance.

That was just his way of wearing Tyson down and tiring him out, not cool by any means but it got the job done and definately isnt the worst way of fighting.

Lewis could have easily just jabbed his way to a victory...The size difference was just to significant.

04-12-2005, 10:31 AM
Mike Tyson was doing awesome in the Lennox Lewis fight. In the opening rounds he was trying hard to box with Lewis and land a big punch. However, Lewis pulled off a John Ruiz and hugged Tyson to wear Tyson out. Didn't he get a point deducted for holding or just a warning, I forget. Good strategy on Lewises part and Lewis was also aging at that point in his career but still if they fought toe to toe Lewis would have got Knocked Out.

i just didn't like the strategy... that's not the way he fights... don't get me wrong, i like lewis but he became too technical in that fight... never really fought his fight...

mu thoughts exactly... if he didn't pull that hugging bazaar he would have been KO'd...

04-12-2005, 10:37 AM
The hugging and holding was his way to make sure Tyson didnt catch him especially with Lewis's chin being questionable...It isnt that big of a deal it was his key strategy to victory and that is the way to beat Tyson. When your chin isnt made of iron and you are in the ring with Tyson, you have to fight a different fight....Tyson isnt like any other fighter out their so you have to come with an alternate plan.

AIR_KENG

Italian Meatball, sounds like your a hater of the Iron Mike. Mike lost today, but anyday is a different day. He isn't in his prime, but this fight brought many people back into the seats to see him try it again. I would like to see why he quit, but quiting is quiting! Mike is great not only for hsi dynamic left hooks, poems of hurt for his opponents, public display of affliction, he is also great for trying to make new starts. All the nobodies in the world to include you make comments, but have never been in those shoes. There is a lot fo pressure and sometimes getting hit enough can make the pressure burst into mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, that's how a person becomes stronger. I think you need to go back to your parents and learn a little respect for those like Iron Mike that paved the way so you could have freedom to speak your dumbass posts/threads! Your turn...

Italian, I think you're looking at another quote because what you talk of has nothing to do with that quote. Again, your intelligence has reached to new lows and your comebacks are getting drier. Here's some water for you to moisten your puss with. You're a hater and you know it. You look to other like Mike to make yourself feel better because you have a senseless life worried about others mistakes. I wonder if you would talk like this to Tyson's face? I don't think so because haters don't have balls like that. They make comments in the alleys when no one is listening and then try to commerialize them on these threads in hopes that another hater will join their crew. How sad is that? It is a stupid move to try and talk **** about tyson in the way you do it. You're only going to get bad karma and a beat down of comments along the way.

I really hate how just because someone has no interest in something particular they have to "hate" it and make fun of it to seem original and rebelious. There are many "great" fighters that I don't have much interest in watching but I don't negative comment them, I appreciate every boxer for what he has come accross and accomplished. For me, Tyson having the problems he had as a child and D'Amato taking him under his wing, then unleashing a beast on the heavyweight division, is something ****ing outstanding, better than what you call "a real skilled boxer" just entering the division and beating all his opponents. I respect Tyson and always will, it's just sad to see idiots like you throw **** around at him like that. Why must you make fun of him, do you really think you have more talent than him? if you don't just shut up, if you do, please back yourself up
