Dont know if any of you guys are into him or not, but I had followed up a bit of news since the olympics about him....

It turns out he is making his pro debut on HBO for the undercard of Tarver vs Johnson.

Usually when a fighter has his debut he will fight a guy with a pretty balanced record such as 1-2,0-1-1 and so forth....

Andre Wards Opponent is 7-0, I realize he is probably wanting to fight the best out their but do you think this is a wise choice???? While he may be a gold medal winner and so forth it just seems a bit risky taking on a fighter with that type of record as your pro debut.....

He must be getting paid a decent amount of cash for this fight is all I can say....

7 0 against what kind of opposition ?

peter mc nelley whas undefeated before facing tyson...

this youngster will not be put with a contender , i bet the guy has no power and will only give ward a few rounds.

Im not sure, the way the press is throwing it around I guess it is, since it is only a 4 round fight....We might be in for a special treat the 18th though :)

Replay of klitschko vs williams
Andre Ward's pro debut
Tarver vs Johnson

Those are cant miss fights and all on one night

No I cant think of any others fighters who have done this...Roy Jones first pro fight the guy had 13 losses and majority by way of KO.

Off the top of my head, I know oscar fought a guy with 5 wins 1 loss and 1 draw......

Im pumped up for this fight......

Roy Jones went against a guy with 13 defeats
Hopkins got beat by a guy with no wins...

It is his pro debut, You cant go judging opposition when we dont even know how Ward will be, Lighten up

The great fighters of Today and Yesterday didnt go up against a record like that......

That is just Crazy on the Wards camp behalf, but hey if he can do it thumbs up but it wouldnt be to good to risk it on television.

The guy has 4 ko's and the name hasnt been announced, either way it is a pretty DAMN GREAT start for Ward.

He is from st. paul Minnessota but other than that, nothing has been released name wise and Ward said he forgets the guys name.
