After last night's bout, it is obvious that Shamrock is getting old. He was too slow and his recuperative powers were not there. I knew from the start that Franklin was going to win and this was a lose-lose situation for Ken. He should have retired after beating Kimo and go back to Pro Wrestling but anyway. I still think he could beat some old timer like Kimo and then go to WWE or something. 10 or even 5 years ago, Ken would have been too much for Franklin but now is now. What should he do?

By the way, Ken is my favorite MMA fighter ever and I would love to see him on a high note.

I would like to to retire now and go into commentary and be an ambassador for the sport. I think this could be a great last fight for him. He really helped popularize the sport by going on ****e TV and losing this match. Unlike Lennox Lewis who destroyed boxing by going out on top, Shamrock handed over the torch to the new generation.

If he leaves now no one will ever doubt that it was age that defeated him. However if he stays, he could turn into a tragic x-champ figure.

Seems like there are not MMA fans here. Endangered species it seems.

I've been a fan for years and I actually think that it was better in the past. I am talking about UFC because Pride FC in Japan keeps getting better and better.

Man, I know I was criticizing your previous avatar but I think it's better than that one because it was very funny. Well, it was ridiculous but funny.

I think alot of boxing fans just dont like the wrestling and grappling of ufc and pride. Personally seeing someone on the ground, practically beaten, then all of a sudden the guy doing the beating ends up in an armbar and taps out is awesome. Its like a knockout punch out of nowhere if you compare it to boxing.

Yeah, Richard simmons is one funny mofo.

Oh yeah, go to www.mma.tv , they have alot of mma talk on there. The boxing talk in here is much better though

The Evander Holyfield of his sport.

The Evander Holyfield of his sport.

Not even close. Do you know Shamrock? Have you followed his career? Comparing him to Holyfield at this stage is an insult. Shamrock won a fight by ko less than a year ago. When was the last time Holyfield koed one? When was the last time he won a fight? Three years ago.

He should retire and be a UFC commentator. He should forget the wrestling crap if he wants to be remembered as a serious fighter and not another wrestling clown.

Retire....

Shamrock's style was successful because he was freakishly strong , a natural athlete. I realize styles are individual, but he could have been much better had he been more open to new techniques and styles.

I think that had Shamrock devoted a little bit of time to strikes he would have been absolutely devastating. His grappling was always good and he had an immense natural strength, but he would have been more effective had he had a little more respect for a strikers abilites....I bet he does now ...

Anyone have a video of his getting TKO'ed in the finale?

Im not like all people but if someone sits ontop of someone and is raining death from above that makes me a lil sick to my stomach...
