It took Marco Antonio Barrera (60-4-42K) only two rounds to dispatch of mismatched opponent Mzonke Fana (22-3-8K). The first serious right hand that landed flush from Barrera was the end of Fana. Fana went down like a sack of jelly and the ref Lawrence Cole had seen enough as he felt Fana was too hurt to continue. Barrera took control of the bout from the start and his right had rarely missed it's mark as he caught Fana with ease. Fana actually had the nerve to complain about the stoppage and said the ref never gave him a ten count.

This bout was a serious mismatch from the start, I told someone I knew that this fight would be a bigger mismatch then the Barrera-Kelley bout and I was right. This fight was not even worthy of a spot on Boxing after Dark. Just when I thought the promoters were starting to smarten up because of the Klitschko-Williams pay per view disaster, this fight lands a pay per view spot. The only good news coming out of this bout is that Barrera looked very strong at 130 pounds, he also showed good speed and very sharp punching. Barrera said that he would fight Erik Morales for a fourth time if that is what the fans demand. Barrera was even better then I predicted tonight, I thought the fight would last at least 3 rounds. Then again, maybe the fight was more of a mismatch then I thought.

fana's only weapon seemed to be his jab. He still couldnt execute it with necessary precision.

We call this kind of a PPV a "hold-up" in the Philippines.
Lots of PPV buyers wasted their money :p
