I think Echols is past his prime and Ikeke is just entering his, but Echols has the power to stop the fight at any time.

ikeke's chin hasnt been tested but he must have a massive reach advantage so i dont think echols will get inside and land a bomb. i think echols has a great chance at winning, ikeke has faced some good competition but echols will prob be the best fighter he will have fought.

I am hoping for a mid round stoppage for Ikeke .

I am up here in Spokane for business, so I will be there live at the fight. Hoping for a solid fight card.

ive seen both fight and i even seen ikeke live, the fight is def worth watching cause its for a number two contender and it has two quality guys.

Good call, there is quite a bit at stake tonight....IMO Echols was never that great, he just matched up well with Hopkins and gave 'em hell in their 2 fights, and his rep has been based on those 2 losses....tonight will be another good showing in a losing effort, I'll take Ikeke with a razor thin UD

Thats what I think too. Ikeke will just use his range all night or Echols will hit him with something nasty and take him out late.

I have not seen Ikeke fight, so I am not sure what he will bring. I have seen Echols fight, and he can fight a rough fight. Echols will need to muscle Ikeke to the ropes, and keep the fight close. Ikeke may come into the ring nervous being that this is a step up in comp. It would be wise for Echols to attack early, and look to hurt Ikeke early. This fight is a crossroads for both fighters. The only way both fighters will lose, is if the fight is boring. Ikeke needs to be explosive, and show he has got what it takes to be at the top of the rankings, Echols needs to be focused and use his experience to make Ikeke fight a Echols fight.

Echols and Ikeke are not strangers. They sparred together several years ago, and their have been many rumors that Ikeke broke Echols' ribs in those sessions and that Echols was planning on getting revenge in this fight. With Ikeke, however, he is not one to do a lot of talking outside the ring.
"He is good," states Ikeke, "but I will do my talking inside the ring. When I sparred with him it was not a problem. He is coming to fight anyway, it does not matter. It is up to me to make him fight my fight, and not let him fight his. It is funny, because at that time he said he would never fight me, but now he has too."
So if Echols claimed he would never fight Ikeke after their sparring sessions, why has he had a change of heart now? There could be many reasons. Some believe that Echols needs the money, but Ikeke feels that Echols is trying to use him to make a statement.
"It is hard to say, maybe he wants to make a statement," says Ikeke. "You never know, all I know is it is going to be a good fight."

yea it's over, his trainer asked if he could see out of his eye and echols said sortof so the trainer stopped the fight before the start of the 11th round

now we have to hear how Hopkins is scared and ducking Ikeke...

Basically Ikeke's range and left jab killed Echols right eye. He used his long arms to jab him to death. Echols didn't look like himself really but I guess he said that the weight loss didn't effect him so there are no excuses. I had it 7-3 at the time of the stoppage.

Ikeke didn't look very spectacular either...he didn't put his punches together behind the jab very well and he really could have busted up Echols from rd 7 on but he didn't. Nonetheless it's a good win against a name opponent.
