Hello no. This is such a ridiculous PPV to buy. This is one of the reasons boxing is a joke to people. People have to pay to see MAB vs regular guys, so why are they going to pay to see him vs good fighters? They won't, becuse they won't know who the hell he is or they will have a bad taste in their mouth after buying this crap PPV.

Marco's mamma aint gonna buy this one.

barrera's card is complete garbage id rather watch FNF over that. fnf has gotten really good

I will be ordering it just to provide the service to my customers so they dont have to wait but I am excited to see Montiel again...I think Fana COULD pull an upset over barrera....Pacquiao did it and he was a nobody until Barrera and Fana is an ok fighter...I wouldnt be surprised but Barrera is still my man....But I will be ordering it for the Montiel fight, I love the little guys and that fight wont be replayed the following week.

I won't be ordering, but I won't go as far as to say Barrera's fight is garbage, etc. I'd still rather see Barrera over the FNF card. I'm just having to be selective with my money. This fight is such an obvious winner that I can't justify buying it. My friend is pissed cause now he's paying double since he's getting the PPV all by himself.

I've got to stay disciplined. Already several times this week I said "**** it, I want to see Barrera" but damn I really can't. There are bigger PPVs coming up, so I have to get those instead. ****ing gas is so high that it's actually affecting my purchases. It'll be nice when I'm making a comfortable living. Being broke...yeah...not my cup of tea. Could be a lot worse, I know. I'm glad for what I do have. And I know my future is bright so yeah.

It's ironic, the Barrera-Pacquaio showdown is on HBO, but Barrera-TomatoCan is 50 bucks....if DeLaHoya really wanted to change things in boxing, he'd get these kinds of fights on not just pay cable, but USA, ****e TV, and then possibly the big networks later on....boxing will always be linked to Rasslin' if it continues down the PPV trail

This sucks! This fight is only worth HBO Boxing After Dark. You know what, because it's Barrera, why not HBO World Championship Boxing. But PPV??? WTF??? Pac-Marquez is not even PPV and why should this be. I just hope this don't turn out to be a Marquez-Salido crap. But nevertheless, go Barrera!

Good call on the Marquez-Salido crap (IMO an extremely rigged fight), I think Barrera will be intense and look for a quick KO, this kid Fana looks malnutritioned and Marco is still pretty big for 130 compared to most guys in the division, I'd be shocked if the fight went past 6 or 7 rounds....

Anybody wanna jump on the "BAN PPV" bandwagon?!?! just a thought....I'm sure I'll plunk $50 down to see Gatti get smoked like a stogie....

The WWF/E shows were once on USA Network. TNN (now ****e TV) showed ECW. Then they bought the WWF/E shows. Now the WWE is going back to USA Network. Seems to me if DLH put boxing on those channels, boxing would be linked to rasslin' more than now. There's no rasslin' on Showtime or HBO.

****e airs Klitschko fights, I am sure this wouldnt be a problem but A LOT of stations are making more money off of syndication and other shows and sports really are not that big of a draw anymore unless it is the superbowl or something of that stature. Boxing just cant cut it on broadcast or cable television....To be considered a success on HBO you have to draw a rating of 5.0 or more (which is like 5 million people watching) Now probably a couple well scratch that MAJORITY of a million people dont have HBO and are fight fans. Well HBO has connections to NBC and ABC if they could bring TVKO to broadcast television like they use to they could bring in MEGA ratings. Majority here dont watch the contender and they earn a modest 5.0 each week so a highly anticipated fight could do better.

GoldenBoy wants to change boxing? Take a risk and put one of your top stars in a prime time slot on abc/nbc/fox and see how it does, if it does well it would change the sport forever I truly do believe. But the main factor is advertising and a lot of companies wont dish money into a name they dont know....It is to much of a risk with boxing but the payoff could be tremendous....

you make a good point about those networks, I'm just thinking that people wouldn't mind watching a mediocre matchup if it were FREE, but a $50 mismatch, or even a good matchup for $50 that fizzles, turns people away from the sport....Rasslin always makes the shows somewhat entertaining with the pyrotechnics and the hoop-la and hype, and the customers always come back for more....boxing doesn't have a loyal-enough fanbase to encourage repeat PPV business, and average sports fans will only throw $5 in a hat with 10 frineds if they ever wanna see a Tyson or Oscar fight....

I like the network idea, but sponsorships and credibility need to be established first, maybe if The Contender gets some good ratings then NBC will consider a show or 2 later this year, but its doubtful

Sac-USA use to have Tuesday night fights that actually put on some pretty good fights and consistantly featured TUA/Byrd/Hopkins.But sadly enough also televised Butterbean but hey who cares right?

Also NBC took a chance last year and aired numerous boxing shows on saturday around 3pm...Nobody is home at these times but the fight with Cintron drew a rating of 1.5 with like a 1.8 share, at 3 oclock on a Saturdy afternoon during a NICE summer day it drew almost 2 million people. Imagine if they placed a top name for example Tarver vs Johnson in a primetime slot what kind of ratings they would get?????

It isnt the fact that NBC and others dont want to do it, because they probably would but it is HARD finding advertisers for these time spots and this is a factor that is holding boxing back from the national coverage it deserves.

I think it is great Toyota is working with the Contender, hopefully the Finale draws big time because it could lead to bigger things on NBC.

Yes I know, but networks can make more money off of advertising by replaying Die Hard 2 without a lot of money being lost from their pockets....Television is in a poor state at this time and is relying to much on Syndication at this point. Every since Reality TV has hit the tube television has been in a downfall just like the Internet the Reality TV bubble will bust and boy will it bust hard. While 10 years ago we had seinfeld and today we watch it and enjoy it...Since every show out their is reality are we still going to be watching that or reruns of Survivor? I hope not....Television needs to be reworked and it is rightfully so, NBC and CBS are leaning towards more comedy sitcoms for the next few seasons to hash out the reality garbage. So it might be a while until you would see boxing back on NBC, unless of course NBC was willing to negotiate on advertising and promoters would agree....

FANA may not be a world known fighter but we will know what he is made off come fight night (he beat SUICO my fighter to have this shot), this fight IMHO will be similar to MAB-Ayala fight ...

Lightweight Juan Lazcano has been accused of making death threats against legendary promoter Don Chargin. According to KDBC 4 News, an El Paso police report states that Lazcano allegedly said he was going to kill Chargin before Chargin killed him. Lazcano did not wish to comment on the situation. In addition, according to KFOX TV, Lazcano was warned by El Paso police late Wednesday night to stay away from the hotel where De La Hoya is staying or he will face arrest.

During a teleconference with Mzonke Fana, who faces Marco Antonio Barrera this Saturday in El Paso, promoter Oscar De La Hoya had this to say about Juan Lazcano: "He just decided to pull out of the fight for reasons only he knows. We had Justin Juuko for him, a very durable fighter. He could've had a comeback fight against him but he felt it was too tough a fight. We tried to get another opponent for him--an easier opponent--but he pulled out of that, too. There was nothing else we could do."

Citing personal reasons, lightweight contender Juan Lazcano has been forced to withdraw from this Saturday’s “Viva Mexico” card in El Paso, Texas, where he was to face Hernan Galaviz in a ten round contest. Stepping in for “The Hispanic Causing Panic” will be highly regarded featherweight prospect Aaron Garcia (2-0), who will put his unbeaten record on the line against rugged veteran Bryan Garcia (7-12, 2 KOs) in a six round contest. REPORT

This event seriously made me lose respect for Golden Boy Promotions.

I'm a big boxing fan like most of us on here, and I usually buy most ppv events but for the life of me i cant justify paying for this one. I encourage everyone to boycott this event.

So with that being said I will be watching this next weekend for FREE, like it should be.

$39.95 is ok! Is not 50 like most people here say!!! :D

When Pacquiao fought Barrera, Pacquiao just knocked out a veteran, so he wasn't a nobody....and it was on HBO...but Fana got knocked down twice in his last fight n i hear it was very controversial, that's some REAL BULL****..
