They are real and weigh more then an average tiger or lion. They are incapable of reproducing though.

I was just reading that they CAN reproduce. they can mate with a tiger or lion. it doesn't say anything about mating to ligers together so I bet that's impossible. Apperantly, the father is a lion and the mother is a tiger. If it were the other way around the liger would be called a Tigon, and would be much smaller.

Yea that's the picture I tried to post. I bet that one weighs more then 900lbs because siberian Tigers can weigh that much and it looks bigger then any Siberian Tiger I've seen.

the tiger and lion are similar enough to make a baby and when captive they are close to tone another so **** happens

First off Ligers are not a product of captivity they do happen in the wild. They have found bones of ancient ligers and scientists thought it was a new species at first.

Second it doesn't matter about male or female. There is no Tygon or whatever.

Third, a Liger is just like a mule. A mule is a cross between a horse and a donkey and it cannot produce either. There are many animals like this in nature, the liger is just the coolest so people don't usually talk about it.

the only reason that there arn't more ligers is that tigers and lions usually fight instead of ****.
