HARRISON VACATES WBF TITLE

Audley Harrison will vacate his lightly regarded WBF heavyweight title after denying reports that he had already been stripped of
it.

The Sydney Olympic super-heavyweight champion has been out injured since June last year with a hand injury and it had been thought that the WBF would strip him of his title due to inactivity.

However, Harrison’s management revealed that the title had been relinquished so the heavyweight could pursue his career in the United States.

“Audley is concentrating on a career in the USA which takes a different path to the WBF title,” said Harrison’s business manager Hazel Bruno-Gilbert.

“We are grateful for the support we have received from the WBF, but the decision has been made that Audley will be vacating the title.”

The 33-year-old has largely failed to capitalise on his 2000 Olympic success and last fought nine months ago against Tomasz Bonin.

This bloke lives in a dream world???... 1st he said that the British/Commonwealth/European is not the best way to get to the top, so he fought for the WBF belt! - Now he say's that the WBF belt is not the right route to get to the top???

According to his prediction's, he was gonna be the British Champion within 5 fights of turning pro, And in late 2002' he was gonna be where Lennox Lewis is??? I swear he just lives in a dream world!

He is nothing in professional boxing and he shall not be, the bbc gave him 1 million for ten fights and he fought the worst bums I ever saw.

he will not even fight the british mediocre heavyweights cause he will lose.

And all this WBF rubbish is really sad, somebody was reading the newspaper in work beside me yesterday and read tha the HAD to give up his HW title.

I just frowned , this sorta ***** makes fools the general public and helps along with PPV to keep boxin outta the limelight, it is nothing but smoke mirrors false advertising and BS titles.

Why hasn't Audley Harrison fought some american heavyweights like Ruiz, Brewster, Golata and Wlad?

It's something to do with his "gravy train"... Basically he talks ans talks and talks to anyone that'll listen, about how he's gonna be the next heavyweight champion of the world.

But then a week later you'll see a press release saying that he's gonna be fighting another bum.

He doesn't seem to want to step up in class?

I dunno why? Coz' he's probably got the tools to make some kind of an impact. :dunno:

(by the way... only 1 of those you mentioned is American)
