I thought your going to walk Pacman into the arena, what happen? I was looking for you.
alexpz 11-18-2009, 12:30 AM Hi Shawn just a Q. Were you expecting Manny to dominate Miguel on that fight?
peyk-peyk 11-18-2009, 12:33 AM Helo ebribadi! ako si menni. kumusta na kayong lahat
chimeara27 11-18-2009, 12:53 AM the truth is panalo si pacquiao.

Yeah, confirmed. No doubt about it -- it's Shawn. You can't keep up a huge thread like that for too long with details only he would know. He offered tickets to certain members for his next fight, too. We would soon find out if it was someone pretending to be him.
Quit spoiling my thread man, I only want to share our sa mga kapwa pinoys na they could catch Shawn Porter up through his profile link that I just shared. Period.
All for a good cause. And so what if I bump my thread? As if naman may mapapala ako sa thread ko. It's more for the others na may hindi alam nito. Kng alam mo na pala, then good for you, DUDE.

He said that he already knows. That's basically just it. Hahaha and he wanted me to stop bumping this thread.
JOM'S 11-18-2009, 07:29 AM hey shawn when you were sparring with PAC and was told to keep your weight as close to PAC's what weight are we taling about?
PAC was around 150-151 during the training, how about you?

I stayed around 152/153. I think I came to camp around 165.
Showtime Shawn 11-18-2009, 08:39 AM Hey Shawn,
I thought your going to walk Pacman into the arena, what happen? I was looking for you.
Yeah i was mad that didnt happen. i think there were some guys involved that didnt want that to happen. not manny but we have 2 different promotional companies if you know what i mean
Showtime Shawn 11-18-2009, 08:42 AM Hi Shawn just a Q. Were you expecting Manny to dominate Miguel on that fight?
i thought the fight would change with a hard uppercut inside. i thought when manny hurt cotto that cotto would never truly recover because manny applies to much pressure to allow you to recover. but no, i didnt think it would be that dominating
Showtime Shawn 11-18-2009, 08:56 AM did u tap any pinays while in PI? :D
man it was tempting to try. some beautiful women in the PI. but i was in training and i don't do that while i train. something a football coach told me one time

Hahaha. You're crazy man.. Good to hear that you're dedicated to training. I have a question for you though, you can pm me the answer. :))
Is Manny really hanging out with that Krista chiq? :boxing::boxing:
ichie666 11-18-2009, 09:05 AM hey mr porter, any comments on the future mayweather vs . pacquiao speculations
there have been harsh words thrown (mostly from mayweather senior)

i think the fight has to much money involved not to happen. i think it should be a 50/50 split of money though.
as far as the fight i think it all depends on the referee. if the referee allows mayweather to hold and break on the inside then it could be a long night for manny because mayweather will just pot shot him coming in with 1 2's and then hold till the break. but if the ref enforces the rules and warns deducts Mayweather than manny can do some real damage and possibly stop mayweather
ichie666 11-18-2009, 09:36 AM but there are so many speculations right, it would be a great fight right?
if you were to fight mr. mayweather what strategy will you use?
is it fun to work with manny?
sorry sir im just star strucked hahaha

your cool and i'm no star brother. we are the same.
I would attack Mayweather relentlessly. I wouldn't let him breathe.
working with manny was a lot of fun. manny cracks jokes when you think it is serious time but remains intense and focused all the time. i learned a lot about how to carry myself from manny.
ichie666 11-18-2009, 10:03 AM when we will see you main eventing matches, im really looking forward to see you bringing down opponents hehehehe
any famous boxers you want to fight?
how can you describe manny's punches?

i am main eventing a small casino show this saturday. you can check it out on prizefighttv.com
I want to fight all of the best
manny delivers power punches from angles that others just flick punches. he has perfected being balanced when he appears off balance
JOM'S 11-18-2009, 10:36 AM I stayed around 152/153. I think I came to camp around 165.
i thought it would be more around 155+ mimicking Cotto's fight night weight...
so you started camp @ 165, how heavy do you get?

kadyo 11-18-2009, 10:05 PM Nice seeing you here shawn. In behalf of all the pinoys here in bosingscene, in the Philippines and all over the world, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you and to your father for being a major factor in preparing pacquiao for the cotto victory.
One member here named chito asked me via text messaging one day before the fight why I think pac can withstand the punching power of cotto, I replied, "He sparred with Shawn Porer, man. That guy has real power, he's got more power than Miguel and if Shawn wasn't able to knock him out in the sparrings they had, then no way in hell Cotto would".
Thanks man and looking forward to watching your fight this coming weekend.

Exactly, Kadyo, it's also what I have been saying all along. As soon as I saw Shawn fight, it became obvious that Manny had the best sparring partner he could possibly have for the Cotto fight.
Credit to Shawn, and credit to Freddie for being able to spot good talent and put it to good use. The exposure for Shawn is great, and since Manny is so highly respected (not only in the Philippines, but worldwide), Shawn has undoubtedly grabbed a pretty significant portion of Manny's fanbase and instantly earned their respect. Which up-and-coming fighter wouldn't want that!? I think it's awesome.
S A M U R A I 11-19-2009, 09:10 PM I would attack Mayweather relentlessly. I wouldn't let him breathe.
This is an interesting post, and I wouldn't doubt the strategy of a pro fighter, but I do wonder if it's the right approach to beating him.
Floyd is mostly a defense-based fighter, right? He relies on you coming forward and pressuring. Most of his opposition have done this, yet failed to have success. So what would happen if you didn't charge forward and attack? I mean, would there even be a fight? Would Floyd just stand in the opposite corner making faces and mouthing off at you? :lol1: The audience might boo and walk out, but seriously, what if you sat down and read the newspaper instead?
I'm kidding.
What if you got him to come forward and trade with you? Going on what I've read (from the likes of Judah) he doesn't have huge power, so I wouldn't worry about Manny being badly hurt (although Floyd does have some speed and enough pop to catch you and possibly knock you down), but after seeing MegaManny absorb those huge punches from Cotto and seem completely unfazed, I just cannot see Floyd hurting him without breaking his brittle hands.
I think Manny needs a different game plan, because up until now we haven't seen a pressure fighter really be able to break through and hurt Floyd enough to finish him.
Again, I'm no pro, you're more than welcome to tell me I'm talking crap, but I wonder if pressure is really the key. While I say this, I do think Floyd needs space to work and time to think, so if you don't allow him that time, maybe he would crumble against a hard hitting, tricky opponent such as Manny. However, by not following him around the ring like a dog chasing a bone, you're taking away certain advantages he has over pretty much anyone; defense, counter-punching, etc.

I agree, sam. Shawn is now big among pinoy boxing fans and nobody among them remembers who omar henry is. Who's that guy? :D
Showtime Shawn 11-19-2009, 10:30 PM wanted to come over and give one last shout out to my Filipino friends before it gets hectic tomorrow. thanks for the love and dont forget to watch me on prizefighttv.com
oh yeah sam....i think you have to attck mayweather but you have to have world class speed to do it. that is the only way you will ever get to his chin. it definitely helps to be southpaw with world class speed to because it makes his left shoulder roll useless. if the referee lets manny fight inside and warns and penalizes mayweather for holding it will be mannys fight.
peace, god bless and love

No doubt, uncle Kadyo!
Henry should have taken that opportunity. I think it was a bad idea to turn down such an offer, but what can you do. His pride and loyalty came first and it's hard to knock him for that, but man if that was me I would have snatched up the offer and taken a neutral attitude, approached it like a pro and done my job. Oh well. It's his loss.

I'll take your word for it, Shawn. You're the pro, not me, so I can't argue with that.
Much respect brother! God bless.

I agree that these boxers who try to outbox Floyd are playing right into his hands. He leads you right into his punches now days with one or two punch attacks, usually the lead right or quick left hook. I think you have to make him completely uncomfortable by pressuring him all night long. If you take away all the space between you and him, that is the first step to beating him. As you stated, you also need the speed to bother him too.
S A M U R A I 11-20-2009, 11:27 PM Who was the fastest fighter he faced? Not including Judah, of course.

Thanks you all. i really love the support i get from the PI and filipino fans. it means the world to me. american fans have so much to choose from for their entertainment that they rarely cherish an athlete as a national hero like filipino fans have don with manny. american fans have so much football, baseball and basketball that boxing gets looked over on the main stream sometimes. if i was going to fight in the PI what would be a good place to fight and would people come if i fought in the main and a bunch of filipino fighters fought on the undercard
