View Full Version : Acelino Freitas
What is left for the quitter. I have heard nary a mention of him on the forums as of late, and I am wondering what you folks think. I mean come on, his only loss....was the infamous one. He has shown some serious potential, overcame adversity in the ring, and proved he will ALWAYS have a punchers chance in a fight. I personally think he would damage some fighters in the 130lb division. He would knock Pacquiao into next friday IMO.
spinksjinx 04-06-2005, 10:11 PM He will eventually refuel his tank but it will level off, I think he has some potential as a top contender especially in the division he is in. But anyone with top skills such as Freitas and even Castillo will break him.
IwatchBoxing 04-06-2005, 10:11 PM I think Acelino Freitas could probaly beat Castillo.

Castillo would break Freitas down and stop him late. Freitas wouldn't be able to run from Castillo more than 3 or 4 rounds.

Freitas did better against Casamayor, I actually think that their both on-par with each other, I see the Corrales vs. Castillo fight being sort of like the Freitas match, minus the quiting.
borikua 04-06-2005, 10:24 PM Freitas : "I was a prostitute, and cheated on my wife all the time"....lol..
You guys know: Freitas was breast feeding untill he was 10?
pretty crazy. Family was poor as dirt. Mother could not afford food to feed everyone in his family.
That is where his nickname "PoPo" came from. The sound you make when sucking on some titties. I am not kidding.
joeboxer 04-06-2005, 10:42 PM HOLY ****! 10 years old. That could do some serious damage to a kids brain.

Castillo did far better against Casamayor than Freitas did and for the record I thought Casamayor beat both of them. Castillo gave Casamayor his toughest fight. He never took the kind of punishment he took in the Castillo fight not even in both Corrales fights which I thought Casamayor won as well. Castillo will hand Corrales a beating before stopping him late.
MexicanWarrior 04-06-2005, 11:39 PM I think Acelino Freitas could probaly beat Castillo.
didn't they fight already??
didn't they fight already??
No. You might be thinking of Corrales.
MexicanWarrior 04-06-2005, 11:44 PM No. You might be thinking of Corrales.
yeah thats it
damn hispanic fighters
they are all named alike :p
Alpha Male 04-07-2005, 11:26 AM Freitas doesn't like to get hit. He can't handle power shots. IMO Manny would obliterate him easy. Too much pressure.
IwatchBoxing 04-07-2005, 11:49 AM Freitas would beat Pacman, Morales, Barrera, Castillo, Juilo Diaz, and Juan Diaz, if he still got it.
Casamayor, Corrales could beat him (already did), probaly Seda too.

Keep in mind Alpha. Freitas is an excellent boxer as well as puncher. He would be yet another Boxer/Puncher like Morales, that could give him fits. I do believe he hits harder than Erik as well. Pac would have to hit him clean, but he would be on the canvas by that point. I think Freitas would knock him out in less than 5 rounds IMO. Torreocampo and 3k Battery have pillowfists in comparison to PoPo. I will be honest; and say that Corrales hits worlds harder than Pacman. He is a legitimate middleweight in a shrunken body.
So is Freitas. He walks around town at 175 lbs. Believe it or not. He loses more weight than any other fighter in the sport, come fight time. I have also heard Vargas walks around at near 200. I have seen PoPo as high as 150 at fight time. These drastic weight changes might take their toll on him however.

Maybe I'm being a bit biased, but ever since he quit against Corrales, I've lost all respect for him as a fighter. It showed me that he can't handle power punches.

I have lost respect for him as well dude. It actually bothers me, that he might regain his winning ways however.....
bigdlb12 04-07-2005, 02:22 PM if morales and frietas were to fight, I wonder place my money on morales at 135 or 140, bring it on!!! Hence: morales came in to face manny and both of their weight was @138-139lbs
SnoopySmurf 04-07-2005, 03:31 PM But Freitas took a hell of a shot from Corales. I think he knew he'd take more damage if he stood there much longer and he'd never be the same fighter again. I was also disappointed in his No Mas performance.
IMO, Freitas would beat both Pacman and Morales.
