View Full Version : What do you think of the Pope's death?
chito 04-05-2005, 07:16 AM Many had touched his hand and all of them were saying the same thing. The pope, was indeed, a holy man and that they felt electricity was getting into their body when they felt his hand.
In this troubled times, and especially when some people are suffering because of war and violence, and poverty. How they just wish, Pope John Paul II could stay a little longer!
neils7147933 04-05-2005, 07:38 AM The pope is another man, like you and me.
He is elected by other mortal men.
Too many people confuse an appointed sinner with a deity; I don't get this "RIP" stuff, either. The Pope believed in an After LIFE, not that he'll be resting in a coffin after he's done on earth...
hes dead end of story .hes a normal person who jus bible bashes .
im very sad he is gone, but one the other hand its good that we now will have healthier pope who will be able to do more than jp did the last years of his life.
JOM'S 04-05-2005, 08:33 AM its sad to see him pass away but all life has to end and he did have a GREAT LIFE, influencing a lot of people and touching lot of hearts around the world ...

I think you are a cool guy Chito, but this topic has been beaten to death. There are at least 2 other threads about it.
chito 04-05-2005, 08:36 AM yep, i know he's human but to a lot of people esp. the poor ones, he was truly an inspiration. we all need some inspiration, aren't we? i hope the next pope would be as inspiring as the late pope!

czars_salad 04-05-2005, 09:06 AM i'm not a catholic and also my family.... but we all felt the sadness and grief. he may not be jesus but he lived his life the way jesus would have wanted us to live. he set moral standards and pushed the virtues of christianity.
he showed compassion, humility, peace....
i see Pope John Paul II not just as a religious leader, but a leader of mankind...

lol, yeah unless a bolt of lightning intervenes. :D
I am bored with the pope stuff, but it still hasn't come close to how dragged out the Reagan death stuff was. That **** went on for over a month.
Speaking of death. I find it interesting how when people die all of a sudden they are always remembered as being so great and nice no matter how ****ty they were when they were alive. I remember this psycho ***** from highschool who committed suicide. Everyone hated her when she was living but as soon as she croked all people could remember was what a great person she was, lol.
Shaolin Bushido 04-05-2005, 04:32 PM What do I think?
*Looks at big ass funeral on tv and everyone acting surprised an 84 year old guy croaked*
I, uh think he's dead.:dead:

I dont think Jesus would have lived in a priceless palace like the Vatican.
Actually, i dont think Jesus would have wanted God to be made into a organization such as Christianity.
bigdlb12 04-05-2005, 07:21 PM I could care less
Like so many other "Catholic" things, the death of the Pope means nothing to me. In reality, it should mean very little to most so-called "Catholics" as well, since another Pope will always be waiting to assume the role as Dictator to the world.

its not the death that matters, it's how he lived his life and how he succeeded in inspiring millions to do good and aspire for goodness.

I disagree. Like the Czars, John Paul II and all the Popes before him asked people to do as he says, because the Central Power is correct and you must accept their wisdom. And, it seems many of the Catholic priesthood weren't too impressed with Pope's words of "inspiration", eh?
Face it, the Pope is a figure of atonement and suffering, and authority to those who accept such authority. I do not.
I think the Pope helped alot of people in his lifetime and lived a decent life. He probably never got *****, he deserves heaven just for that.

I hate that too, on how people say bull**** about how much they cared once a person is dead and how good that person was. Like I never liked that *** Kurt Cocain. Always said he was a ****ing hypocrite and con artist, and his fans that liked him for anything besides his music were fools if they bought his bull****.
Kurt Cocain would whine about not wanting to be famous, but that didn't stop him from putting out records and going on tour. It is pretty damn easy to not be famous. Especially in the music business. Just ask Joe Esposito (who? exactly).
Even after he died, I kept talking **** about him. People got all offended, especially within months after his death. Like my opinion of him would change because he killed himself.
In high school, this girl I didn't know at all, nor did most people, as she wasn't super popular, died in a car wreck. Everybody pretended to care. One teacher told the class "for anybody who cares, she was Mormon so she had religion" blah blah. I was like "Mormon? Ah, so she's going to hell." And kids got all mad at me. lol, I was only speaking what I believed to be true. Oh well. **** them. I'm better than all of them.
masterdirector 04-06-2005, 07:21 AM Oh people do seem way too sad that the Pope died. It isn't like this was coming out of left field. It's not like he was in his 60s or something and it was sudden. He was old for crying out loud. These guys aren't immortal, they gotta die. These people should be celebrating his death more than grieving. He's in Heaven now. He's no longer suffering here. Okay, mourn some since he's no longer here, but yeah. People act like the Pope dying is the end of the Catholic religion. They'll get a new Pope soon and he'll live for a while.
Popes are like Light bulbs. They have a limited life. They eventually burn out and have to be changed. But when they do die, Catholics are left in the dark. But it's only temporary. Grab those candles and all should be good.
