What happens if neither team wins?

I should have put that differently. I have the Pistons winning it all #1. #2...I want anyone who thinks that another Eastern/Western conference team will oust them to put their money up. For example, if you think the Heat or whoever else will beat them in the East, put 100 mil on that team. If you think that the Stons will be bounced by a Western conference team in the Finals, put 100 mil on that WCT.

If the Stons or the other team should lose before they play each other...the bet is off and everyone keeps their funds.

Hey IWB, you willing to put some points on that Miami team of yours? Shaq, D-Wade and Eddie Jones are nice but a FULL HOUSE beats 3-OF-A-KIND.

Hamilton
Wallace
Billups
Wallace
Prince
Delfino
Arroyo
McDyess
Hunter

Milicic

Sheed's size and length actually stack up well with Duncan. You never really got to see that last year. I don't think Duncan dominates Wallace and Wallace this year. Especially with all of the nagging injuries.

duncan is the best player in the league. the spurs have a good bunch of guys around him as well, and if the injuries dont come into play the spurs will be the champs. sheed might be able to gaurd duncan for a while but he will get into foul trouble and its all over fron there on.

Darko is still VERY young...he's not used to the speed at which the game is played yet. He's very skilled, think Nowitzki without the 3 ball but with better D...this is all potential of course. Larry will probably get him some early playoff experience this year...not much but a little. I think he'll play a lot more next year. I know one thing, if we trade him or something and he pulls a Jermaine O'Neal, Tracy McGrady, Larry Hughes, or Dirk Nowitzki i'll be ****ing pissed.

As much as I hate Duncans game, I have to admit he is a beast. The reasons why the Pistons are going to win go well beyond their infinitely deep roster though. Joe Dumars is the SMARTEST MAN IN BASKETBALL and Larry Brown is our guru. We have the best GM in the game and arguably the best coach in the league...they will find a way to get us through everything.

We have made moves to deal with the Western Conference and Shaq now. We have Elden back to throw at Shaq (Milicic as well I guess), we can throw Sheed and McDyess at WC power forwards (Milicic as well again), and with Big Ben on the weak side...I think we have it all networked to result in our favor.

I like the Suns. I don't think that they should be favored to win, but I hope they do. Suns vs Pistons, would be the ultimate finals. Offense vs Defense. It would be cool. I don't have 100 million but if it gets there I will definitly bet with you.

oldgringo

Half court teams ALWAYS win in the playoffs. The Suns have to get out an run and have NO IDEA that the playoffs are a completely different animal. The team that I would like to see bounced from the playoffs are the Spurs. They are the only other team that can play defense and function in a half court set as well as the Stunners.

duncan is also a very good defender so dont expect points to come from sheed. big ben isnt known for his offense and will prob get 9 or 10 a game. bruce bowen is arguably the best defensive player in the game and i expect he will shut down prince. whats left for the pistons is rip and billups but the spurs backcourt can match their production with parker and ginobli. so if duncan does what he normaly does its a short series for the pistons, i say the finals are over in 5. i just dont see anyone beating the spurs if duncan is healthy.

i do really hope reggie miller does well though, he was always one of my favs ever since what he did to the knicks.

that arenas hughes backcourt puts up like a combined 50 a game and antawn jamison is the most under rated player in the league. they also have some pretty talented/gritty forwards/centers -sorry for the use of these ////

I'll give you my counter.

Sheed is somewhat inconsistent with his scoring nowadays, but he is stepping up HUGE as our primary scoring option along with Rip. Nobody can stop his turn around jumper because his arms are so long and his release point is so high...I expect at least 13-15 a night from him in the playoffs. Against Duncan, his average may float around 13-14 points. Sheed can also stroke the 3 ball and extend Duncan, thus opening up the lane for guys like Rip and Tayshaun to slash to the bucket. Duncan doesn't shoot at well as Sheed from the outside.

Richard Hamilton is our most consistent player and has the best mid-range game in the league. I expect that Bruce Bowen would be put on Rip for this reason. Bowen would have his hands full because Rip NEVER gets tired, and frankly, theres not much you can do about a mid-range shot after you have just received a monster screen from Ben Wallace. I think Rips production would go down from Bowen D though...not severely but an average of 15-16 sounds about right.

Princes offensive production is going up steadily and he's becoming better with every game. He's averaging a career high in points this year and can bury the trey ball. He's easily one of the best ON-BALL defenders in the game these days as he's reapeatedly battle tested against the Kobe's and Carter's of the league...as Jose would say, that ain't up for debate. His length and agility make him a great defensive stopper and he can hang with anyone that the league can throw at him.

Chauncey Billups isn't called Mr. Big-Shot for nothing. He's a very strong, physical point guard who can bury the 3 ball with ease. Parker would have to bring his A-game to stop Chauncey because Parker is a fairly small point and Chauncey can play in the post in addition to shooting the rock. He's not the greatest defender but that's what our frontcourt is for. theres no one that I'd rather have taking the big 3 at the end of the game then him....maybe Reggie Miller and Horry :D

I don't even have to talk about Ben Wallace. Best weak-side defender in the league 3 years running...heart and soul of our team...monster on the boards. As long as he can make his easy shots and get around 6-8 points a night we'll be fine.

The guy that scares me the most on the Spurs is Ginobili. He's the X-factor for the Spurs in my opinion. He almost single handedly beat Team USA in the olympics and is that guy who's always in the right place at the right time. He was just injured however and is still coming back from that. I think Tayshaun can do a good job on him however.

I think it will be Spurs vs. Miami, 2 quality basketball teams in the Finals...

Spurs will get Duncan back just around the beginning of the playoffs and they are playing pretty well without him and getting more players time and experience which will definitely help them in the playoffs.

Miami is just a beast.. They play both sides of the ball well and when you watch them play, they look and act like a team. They also have a cast of good players behind O'Neal and Wade and remember Shaq is faster then last season and seems like this season he's out to prove that he can win it on another team and Wade will continue to improve his game under Shaq, look at what he did last year without him!

And last, watch out for my Pacers to leave a dent in the Eastern Conference!!

Run-N-Gun teams never win these days. Shawn Marion is one of my 3 favs in the league but dem boys gonna get schooled in the playoffs homey. All about defense and half court domination. Plus I paid off someone to take out Steve Nash' knee...so much for Amares stats after that happens.

Thats not all the way true. Both the Mavs and Kings made it to the Western Confrerence Finals and had they made it the finals they would have been heavy favorites over whoever came out of the east.

The Kings got screwed as bad as anyone I have ever seen in a game 7 by the refs against LA. Hell the Kings came within a jump shot of going to the Finals.

By the way did you see Amare's stats the second time Nash went out?

Well of course they'd be heavy favorites over that weak ass NJ team since they are just about the same kind of team only the West had the size...

The Blazers came within 2 minutes of beating the Lake-show too...but it never happened did it?

I'm talking about regular season splits here...not 1 time frame. You know as well as I know that Amare has rather pedestrian numbers on average when Nash isn't setting him up for easy ass dunks. The boy needs Nash...

The facts for this year are Pistons SECOND in the EC...just like they were last year. We are having an excellent 2nd half in relation to our first half and we almost have our team at full strength. We'll step it up another notch when it counts because we always do.

Yes Wallace is the man...Artest is a talented thug who would rather promote his album then play ball and keep his cool. That scrap would have been settled on the court had Artest not flipped out and ran into the crowd. As for Ben acting hard...there was no ACTING involved. Dudes mom died last year and one of his brothers died this year...if Artest had thrown ANYTHING Ben would have ****ing killed him. Artest looked like he saw the holy ghost when Ben shoved his ass halfway across the court...there was no way he was going to step to him because he knew he'd get his ass beat. And yes...he was putting up good numbers like he normally does but when you look back on his season as a whole it was pathetic because he went and did all that non-sense. Trust me, had he attacked the dude that threw the beer I wouldn't have cared as much but he went up there and attacked innocent people like an unguided missile.

I ain't starting **** either man its just friendly banter...but theres no way you can tell me that this season is ANY different from last year. We have had to face adversity with that whole brawl thing, with Larry Brown's surgery, and with multiple injuries. All of that is taken care of now and it has done nothing but fueled the fire under the Pistons ass for the playoffs. Regular season and playoffs are 2 completely different things...and you will most definitely see a repeat this year. Miami/Detroit is about to be like the NBA version of the Super Bowl with the Pistons being the Patriots. The great TEAM will beat the great TALENT.

i dont think a team with the suns defence can win a 7 game series against a real contender.

this is what makes the Suns sucks. they just can't play defense. Nash with the MVP, though
spurs added another scorer to the line up with glen robinson.
its over now just give them the trophy cause ther will be no way to stop them, they have too many options now.
the spurs are really the standard yardstick of the NBA today. they are well-rounded and skillful both in defense and in offense. but i think the Heat is alot hungrier and more persistent than the Spurs.

Did Amare have Steve Nash last year?

Thats the end of that debate.

*rolleyes*

Just a dunker my ass. He averaged 25 points a game the second half of last year.

Then you need to start giving him credit now. In his rookie year he hit a 3 pointer with no time left on the clock to send game 1 of the San Antonio series into overtime(a game Phoenix won)

Amare is definitely sick...and he is slightly better than Yao at this point...but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's as 1 dimensional as Manny Pacquiao. :D

The best player on your squad is still Shawn Marion. Ugliest jumper ever but the matrix is ALWAYS solid.

amare is probably the best daredevil there is in this league. every time he gets the ball inside all he see is a great dunk, whether there are 3 or 4 defenders inside -- just never fears injuries.

a great material, has the potential of becoming a true superstar. Utah should provide him at least 2 or 3 more reliable teammates.
