View Full Version : DK postfight Mormeck-Braithwaite
cupcrazy01 04-03-2005, 09:01 PM Hilarious postfight "interview" with DK last night...
He answers a couple of questions about Mormeck-Braithwaite and then strokes his own ego about last night and February 5 on Showtime, but almost simultaneously undermines Showtime incredulously by thanking Ross Greenberg, head of HBO Sports (never would have expected that given current issues b/t King and HBO), then he goes on to mention Ruiz-Toney and then Brewster-Golota, which prompted the Jim Gray-substitute (name eludes me) to very uncomfortably end the interview...high comedy!
By the way, he thanked Greenberg for allowing Mormeck-Braithwaite to be on Showtime. Wasn't the fight postponed twice for injuries, and orginally supposed to be part of a Cruiser tournament on PPV under Trinidad-Mayorga?
MlLkMan 04-03-2005, 09:03 PM hahah, do you have a video?
cupcrazy01 04-03-2005, 09:09 PM No, I don't have a vid, I HAD it TIVO'd, but since I have so little space and no need to watch the fight again (not that it was bad, I just have no interest in watching it again) I deleted it this morning. Oh well, maybe someone else does, it was funny.

Jean Marc Mormec un brilliante soldat de France, screw Don King.
Super_Lightweight 04-04-2005, 02:22 AM Don King is a joke and the scorecards show that the fix was in for Brathwaite had the fight been close, but they just didn't go through with the fix because it would have been to obvious with the beatdown Mormeck delivered.
King is a fraud, disgrace, and an embarrassment to honesty and boxing.
joeboxer 04-04-2005, 02:33 AM You say it was a fix??? But it was obvious who the winner was??? How does that work??? Especially when the Don King fighter lost???

I'm saying, it appears to me that if the fight had been closer, they would have given it to Brathwaite (Don's fighter). Look at the scorecards. Look at how it took an exasperatingly long time for the scorecards to be turned in. These are the tell-tale signs that something fishy was going on.
DKP probably paid the 2 judges with the crazy scorecards to favor Brathwaite, but then the fight turned out to be a blowout for Mormeck, which no one expected, and so DKP could not get away with a fix because it would have been too obvious.
If you look at the scorecards and how lon it took them to turn the scores in, it appears to me there was something fishy in store had the fight been just a little closer.
The Fix 04-04-2005, 02:43 AM i think don king is very honest and would never kill anybody...

Love to see that fight? Mormeck KO 5, if not earlier....Jirov got ruined by Toney, he'll never be the same fighter

That's exactly what happened in the Ruiz vs Golota fight. The scorecards took forever and then they came back with that bull**** decision. If the fight was as unanimous as they called it then the scorecards should have been ready in 5 seconds. Prime example that the scam was on that night.

Great post brother, did you notice the same shenanigans during Lamon Brewster vs. Kali Meehan? That was the most obviously rigged fight I've seen in quite some time....The Ruiz-Golota decision was bogus but you can't discredit Ruiz for his gutsy comeback and you can't feel sorry for Golota who got real tired after only 4 or 5 rounds
enadeus 04-04-2005, 04:03 PM I don't know if Golota got tired. It was just he was so ****y that fight. He thought that he was guranteed to win and forgot that he has to do a bit extra to win a championship fight. I don't know why that fight would be fixed. I think Golota is on Don Kings payroll anyway and Golota is a much bigger draw than Ruiz. If Brewster beats Golota or its close then we know that there is something fishy going on. I don't know, it is a home crowd for Golota fighting in Chicago. I think Don King realizes that Golota is the draw and it wasn't his Byrd or Ruiz fighters that filled the seats but Golota. Golota should win this one. I would love to see Golota vs Klichko, but I think Klichko would win easily.
The Troll 04-04-2005, 04:12 PM Toney did not ruin Jirov, Jirov lost 1 fight to Michael Moore and now your calling him ruined? no way.
YOu will see when he goes back down to cruiserweight he will kick some serious arse again, I think Mormeck would probably be the favorite in the fight, but it would for sure be competetive, both guys hit hard and have a come forward style. I think Jirov vs Mormeck would pretty much be a slugfest and its a pick em fight really. But i want to see what Jirov does in his next 2 or 3 fights first. But I cant believe you guy are writing off Jirov now after 1 TKO loss, what nonsense. Michal Moore is renowned for his power and that was Jirov's first fight at heavyweight so I dont know why the result of that fight surprises you. Jirov has probably been knocked out before in the amateurs and hit hard in training, he can deal with it, he is not ruined and you will see, he will rise back to near the top of the cruiserweight division.

First off that was Jirov's second fight at heavy, cause he fought Joe Mesi. And he lost. So that's 3 fights in a row he lost
Why did you give me bad Karma? I didn't say anything at all on this thread. I hadn't seen the fight and I was asking a question that the man answered.
I just watched it by the way, and those judges were a little ****ed up.
does anybody else think i deserve bad Karma on this thread?

How about I put you on my ignore list and you put me on yours. don't bother posting a reply. I won't see it.
The Troll 04-05-2005, 12:48 AM Your a ****ing prick
The Troll 04-05-2005, 12:56 AM You better start keeping your points in the bank Joe, because the second I get thief capability and you have points, all your points are going to be in my bank.
Bank on it...
The Troll 04-05-2005, 01:06 AM All I did was disapprove of your post in support of Don King. That is what the Karma system is for and you steel 23,000 points from me. Truly an ******* you are.
joeboxer 04-05-2005, 01:11 AM Did you really have to create 5 different Posts in order to send a 3 line message McKay?
if its to me, that is really funny because I can't even see his posts anymore.
The Troll 04-05-2005, 01:13 AM whatever Joe I am not actually mad you stole all my points, I will just get even, and then some.
The Troll 04-05-2005, 01:32 AM Jirov actually did not fight that bad against Mesi either. Mesi was the better boxer and won most of the rounds but of course Jirov knocked him down 3 times in the last round. Jirov is one fighter that would really benefit from having fights be 15 rounds, he has great stamina and always seems to come on in the late rounds. But overall Jirov did well against Mesi, you cannot say he did horrible when he barely lost the descision and knocked the undefeated Mesi down 3 times causing him to have brain damage unfortunately.
Against Jirov and Mesi, Jirov lost both times but he fought well in both fights. Against Mesi he lost on points but he basically only lost because Mesi had heart for one, and he was also saved by the bell. Against Moore, he outboxed Moore the entire fight but he just got caught by one of boxing's big punchers, Michael Moore. Back at cruiserweight there is not going to be any punchers that put Jirov down like Michael Moore. That was the first Ko loss Jirov ever had was against Moore.
(In response to those who say Jirov is a washed up fighter)
The Fix 04-05-2005, 02:03 AM whatever Joe I am not actually mad you stole all my points, I will just get even, and then some.

you have to admit that was pretty funny
outofit 04-06-2005, 04:52 PM jirov was doing very well but i did notice him dropping his guard, probably about the same time moorer did. i think it was a failed attempt at baiting him or something. what ever it was it sure sucked.
