Who would you consider to be your favorite cruiserweight fighter? Who do you think has the most potential? I favor a few, but am for the most part undecided, because there is actually a talent pool there. Names would include Sellers, Bell, Haye, Mormeck, Braithwaite.

I suppose potential matchups are to be dictated by exerting one's will over the other opponent. It seems to be the common denominator of this group of fighters. I suppose it would be hard to count out a fighter like Ezra Sellers, because he has the ring experience, and hits harder than any other cruiser IMO. Oneil Bell has the most remaining potential in the division, and would make a good challenger for Mormeck's belts. He showed his impressive punching by Finishing Sellers off very quickly.

I would also like to add: Don King is a valuable asset to boxing in general, displayed through his vision to resurrect, and unify the cruiserweight divison. Very exciting. This means there will be some big money fights down the road, with some potential "passer-bys". Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver should move up in weight, and fight the top Cruiserweights, etc.

Kelvin Davis...

Do you personally think Bell should have been disqualified for hitting Davis when he was down, in their fight?

I haven't seen the clip.

I'm a fairly new fight fan; my exposure to the cruisers is limited. Davis seems to have some personality and some energy. I would pull for him against any of the guys you mentioned.

They knocked each other down, the fight was a war. Bell had Davis down, and hit him while he was "supposedly" on the canvas. He got up, and Bell stopped him by TKO from a barrage of punches. After the fight, the Davis camp called for an immediate rematch...which Bell refused. That was one of the negative marks towards him, however the stigma is justified on the other end, because He would be the clear favorite in the rematch.

I would actually like to see Davis fight Mormeck. That would be interesting to say the least. Davis and Mormeck have some heart, and can take some punishment. That is for sure. Anyone who goes 8 rounds with Sellers is a hard nosed guy. Ezra hits the hardest of all the fighters. Mormeck walked through hailstorms against Braithwaite, and that says it all.

IMO the biggest threats in the divison are not the people squatting. I would favor Antonio Tarver against most if not all the current "top cruiserweights". With the exception of Oneil Bell and Mormeck. They could not deal with his accuracy, and his excellent straight punching style. That would give these monoliths some serious trouble.
