Some of you may or may not know I moderate an MMA board and one of our journalists, Jack Barrington has written and article on the need for reformation of Judging and Scoring Criteria for MMA.

It's a very long but good read, and the second page contains a pre-written letter to the NV and CA Athletic Commissions and links to the e-mails are provided.

I strongly urge and encourage you to join in on this. Just copy the letter and send the e-mail to the NV and CA commissions.

While an online petition may or may not work, I believe it's worth a try and better than doing nothing. So please get on board!

Just copy and paste the letter in a e-mail and put your name at the bottom.

Thank You

The only real way they change the scoring will be if the UFC pushes it. Not to say that the state athletic commisions are in the UFC's pocket, but they are the biggest org. and probably have the pull behind the scenes to get it done.

Pride had good scoring, it wasn't perfect but it was better than NSAC. Pride Rules where also better, I'd love to see other mma orgs implament yellow and red cards...

IMO we can't judge a 3 rounds fight on the 10 points must system. If it was up to me all UFC fights would be 5 rounds fight. Great fights like Griffin vs Guida could have been even better.

Lyoto VS Machida 's problem wasn't the MMA judging and scoring system, it was the judges who were as good as Ray Charles.

How about a 5 point scoring system.

1. Affective aggression. Strikes, kicks.
2. Take downs
3. Submission Attempts
4. Sweeps, escapes, reversals, ground control.
5. Skill, technical expertise.

Winner gets 5 points, loser of round gets 4 points or less.
