I seriously need help, helping my damn fat brother lose weight.

His 6.1 and 280 pounds.20 years old.

And im getting worried about his health.

Sure his strong, benched 225 at 16 without training.

He smokes and he drinks a lot of beer.

He is planning to take upp brazilian jiu-jitsu.

My goal is getting him down to 220-230.

Advice on diet and exercise would be apreciated.

Since he is just starting out and is not in shape you should get him on a light diet. Try and lower the carbs he intakes and find out how many calories he eats in a typical day and reduce it by about 500.

Take some light jogs with him.

Make sure he doesnt do any late night snacking.

Try and only eat whole wheats stay away from the white.

Healthy balanced diet and excercise that should do it.

listen to weight loss master(thats me) have him eat nothing but skinless chicken breast, eggs, cheese and anything with the word protien in it. have him do like a 2 hour workout and then a 1 mile run if he can do more make him do more.

If he isn't motivated just try and jog with him. Its a lot easier with a partner.

Just run with him as far as he can on his knee.

Make sure you get him to wear sweatsuits and heavy **** when he goes to jog, no matter how hot it is. Also...tell him to drink lots of water, anytime he's thirsty tell him to drink water, anytime he craves a beer tell him to drink water until he can drink no more.

Suggest that if he cannot or should not run to at least hituop a bike or rower, these should be better for his knees. well it takes dicipline to lsoe weight but lots of water, protiena nd excercise should do the trick, take it slow and gradually work him into a routine. eventually he may come to like the new lifestyle

yeah i was thinking about putting him on a bike and maybe also give him a strength program.

He is going to start with jiu-jitsu so there is hope.

They say that you only lose fluid, not fat & then just put the weight back on. Something like that, anyway.

The best thing you can do for your brother is to try to change his MIDSET. Unless he becomes a self motivator, you'll be battling him for years trying to get him off the couch. He has to want to do it himself, you can't make him do it.

hey man nice of you to try and help ur bro out.
Whats important is getting him to want to get thin!
